    Baked potato with brisket

It was our first time trying this place. We have heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. The restaurant is located in a mini mall. Just right off Unser. There seems to be plenty of places to sit inside the restaurant. But if you come on a day when it's busy, you may have to wait a little bit to sit down or take your food to go. . There were plenty of people coming in for their phone orders, so we knew that it was a place that many patrons like to eat at. We arrived at a good time, a little after lunch time. But it did start to get packed. We did inquire about the brisket and we were told they do offer the moist option. They cut a piece from the brisket and handed it to me. It tasted good. We decided on a loaded, baked potato with brisket. And also the one meat combo which included two side sides in a drink. All of it was pretty delicious and we plan to come back.

I was so happy they opened a location on the west side! I have eaten at the San Mateo location and the food was great. Small little restaurant with tables and a nice homey decor. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Quick service. The food.........was disappointing. I ordered the sausage sandwich combo with jalapeño cheddar sausage, fries and a pork loin sandwich. The sausage was overcooked, with an almost burnt casing. The pork loin was dry and overcooked as well. The buns were pre-toasted and almost stale...the edges were hard and not from toasting. I will give them a second try so hopefully it was just an off day.

We visited Albuquerque New Mexico to see an old friend and found Duke city bbq on yelp specifically for the brisket bowl. Antonio walked us through the menu and helped us pick what we wanted. We ended up coming back three times during our trip because of our great experience with him. On our last trip to Duke city barbecue we got the Dino ribs per Antonio's recommendation! So glad we got to try this before returning to DC

Nice to see the west side getting some love from businesses. Probable our favorite BBQ in the city has opened a store close to us. The problem is whether or not the quality remains the same. Happy to say it does. Brisket tended enough to fall apart flavorful with a nice layer of bark. Cole slaw was great - better than the San Mateo store. This one had pineapple, mango & cranberry. The wife got a Brisket Bowl - Brisket, Chile Rice & BBQ beans. Flavorful, tender & filling. TThe store is bright & modern looking with the usual outgoing staff. Think we'll be eating BBQ more often.

Dry chunks of brisket and jalapeño sausage.

Yummy and tasty food from a small family business worthy of ABQ's local support. Theo the owner…read moredoes the bbq/smoking of the meat himself. You can tell he is passionate and love sharing his bbq with his customer. His signature meat? He mentioned the pulled pork meat and the brisket! The side worthy of trying (although Theo himself doesn't like coleslaw himself? The pineapple coleslaw...based on my brief discussion with another local customer I met onsite! I personally found that the price/value for the amount and quality of food Nomad's bbq provides is well worth it. I had a pulled pork sandwich (plus a bit of brisket and the 2 sides that I couldn't resist trying to save for my next meal) and thought the meat was smokey, jiving and so scrumptious...and this is coming from someone who normally doesn't eat so much meat like myself! Overall, I really like that Theo seems passionate about making the food that he serves. Plus, it doesn't hurt that this bbq type of food tastes so good..and is so rare to find ABQ, too.

The shredded beef brisket on a tasty roll was out of this world. The beef was lean and the portion was huge. The service was great at the take out window. We will be back soon.

I was in between a meeting and thought I would stop by Kimo's for lunch out of whim as it happened…read moreto be along the way to my next meeting. I'm so glad I finally got to check this place out after all these years of living here. The store is in an industrial area, and looking from the road, you can definitely miss it if you blink. It looks a lil sort of like a hole in a wall place and I wasn't even sure it was open by looking from the outside even! But...I did park in the back and checked out the shop! I opted for Loco Moco with overeasy egg, soda and got 2 spam musubi to go. I must say the food hit the spot for me. I hadn't had Hawaiian food for close to 10 years now so it was really nostalgic savoring this thing again. The spam musubi was also great though on a pricy side..but hey..once in a while, it's good to treat yourself with yummy things! The staff there were both friendly. They ended up chatting with me most of the time since when I stopped by it wasn't busy with the crowds. I also learned they do have food truck offerings at events at Hyder Park on select days, too! Just the only things I wished they had some other things like guava cake and mochiko chicken that I really missed too though!

When I first moved here to Albuquerque, NM, I was so excited to find there was a Hawaiian place…read morehere and my friend from church, also from Hawai'i, brought me a plate lunch of my favorite chicken katsu. It was awesome and made just right! So why the 2 stars??? It started off with so much potential, then quickly went downhill. I was happy to see they offered delivery, and so I ordered and looked forward to some ono grinds (good food). When I got the delivery and opened the container, my first reaction was "WHAAAAAATTT?????". This was NOT katsu! It was mushy chicken teriyaki-ish swimming in sauce, mac salad that was masquerading as local mac salad, and overall just a container of non-local food. It didn't taste goo either. I was told at the time that it was under new management, but even so, it should not have kicked its standards to the curb. I was afraid to eat their food after that. If you are going to advertise yourself as a Hawaiian food place, make sure you got the goods. We locals know the difference.
