There were two people waiting when I came in.And they were both taken within ten minutes of my arriving. More people came in and were taken back while I sat there and waited. Half hour after my appointment time, I went to the counter to let them know that I was unable to wait any longer because I had another appointment to get to. The person at the counter said that the online check in doesn't work.And that they could take me at that time. Unfortunately, since I had given them as much time as I could.I was not able to get my blood work done there.I will be rebooking in a different location. It seems to me that if the location knows that they're online check in system is not working.And they see someone sitting in their waiting room for forty five minutes unattended that perhaps they should check in and see if perhaps that person did the online check in. This was an unsatisfactory experience and I will avoid this facility.

I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years and I could not believe the lack of professionalism and complete hostility of the person that answers the phone at this clinic. I was calling to confirm my mother's appointment today and the lady that answered when you hit option 1 downright sounded angry off the jump. She didn't say who she was when she answered and I was confused, so I asked "is this scheduling?" And she said "what do you want ma'am!?". I then asked what her name was and she hung up on me. Literally that was it. I feel bad for the elderly patients that call in hoping to speak to someone with medical compassion. Hopefully the rest of my mother's visit will go well today and if it does, I will be updating my review..

The Main Entrance is on the 2nd Floor and there were signs stating that. The Raleigh Ortho Clinic shares a space with UNC Ortho. There was a check in desk for each with a shared waiting room. The examination room had the typical Raleigh Ortho decor so I am not sure if the exam rooms are shared or not. I've been seeing Dr. Jernigan for my hand injury and am glad that I can be seen at various clinics based on my schedule.

This is for the clinic portion on Medicine Circle off Trent. This area is much easier to manage…read morethan the main hospital. It's color coded and there's plenty of parking. You do have to walk across the indoor bridge to get there unless you valet park. They charge $2 an hour for parking. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is done with an arm bracelet for things such as lab or testing. I had an appointment with neuromuscular department. The physicians and therapists are excellent. They're very thorough and up to date on current medicines and trials. The EMG center is in the same clinic so it's super convenient. Being part of the Duke portal is convenient for Atrium Wake Forest and Cone Health because all testing is visible and they can also see visit notes from the doctors. It makes it possible to see providers from different networks and not having to bring in or sign for your records to be shared. The facility is massive and the color system makes it easy to find your way. There are several labs so you don't have to walk a mile to get to one. Most walk in tests can accommodate with minimal waiting. It's about a quarter mile walk from the parking garage to the clinics so wear comfy shoes or walking device. You will have a lot of walking to do and there's limited seating in the main corridors.

The second time was for a CT scan for my wife, and that was relatively quick, even though it was a very long distance from the front entrance. I guess there is a side entrance for outpatient services but nobody mentioned that to us. The third time was an ER visit for my wife. Upon checking in, they got her vitals but then it was several hours before we were called back. The PA who saw us was very professional, but it was odd to have so many different nurses and techs provide services from IV, to x-ray, to labs. They were professional, but again I'm not a fan of so much waiting around. Also, the treatment area was not private at all, basically hospital beds and chairs separated by curtains. We could hear the details of the patients all around us and I suppose they could hear us. More privacy would be appreciated.

I stood outside with another patient and the security guard on duty. I Wear a Dexcom G7 CGM for Type 1 diabetes, I didn't find until it was time to go into the room for the MRI that I would have to remove my CGM sensor to get the MRI. I should have been messaged through the my chart portal not to wear the Dexcom G7 CGM, these sensors cost money and I had to trash a brand new one. What's the point of filling out online check in days before if they're not going to communicate the simplest things. The MRI took about 20Min

I was told I would walk 4 hours after my spine surgery. I was awake at noon after surgery and by 7…read morep.m., and several requests to walk, nothing happened until I texted my Doctor at 9:00 p.m. THEN I WAS WALKED Their Posh Care 8-part video on what to expect before and after the surgery was NO stars. They showed a couple receiving packets of information and how much information would happen. I had a few phone interviews but no paper instructions or an email with instructions they may have given me by phone. My Doctor called the night before making sure I had not taken certain meds. I told him I didn't know I shouldn't have taken the meds I did. I told him I had been called, but no physical information was given or sent. The video shows people getting PACKETS AND SPEAKING PERSONALLY. This is inexcusable. This is serious surgery...not a tonsillectomy. I went to the hospital a day before the surgery because I needed to make sure I had a caseworker, as there was no one at my home for almost a week after surgery so there was no care aid. My insurance pays for 20 days of facility care. I never saw a caseworker. The caseworker called minutes before my Doctor walked in to discharge me. I left with my son to their family home where there was no bed on the first floor. After spine surgery, you cannot go up a flight of stairs. I SLEPT ON A COUCH FOR THE FIRST TWO NIGHTS until I chose to go home where there was at least a bed, but no home help. For whatever reason, after I was home for a week, I felt like I was buckling after I got out of bed one morning, and had a dresser to grab and stabilize. After that, I ordered a recliner to sleep in. I have been sleeping in a recliner for over a week because I fear getting in and out of bed. I even worked with the Occupational therapist on this and showed her how I was getting in and out. The problem is BOTH LEGS DO NOT SHIFT TOGETHER. I was stressing my back getting in and out of bed. I remained challenged to get in and out of my bed and there had been no videos on how to do that. I would give a few of the nurses a solid 5, but the shift that was supposed to walk me, and the nurse that did walk me that night, didn't have the bedside presence and concern the others did. I am now 5 weeks out and am beginning to search on YouTube to see how to manage my pain!!!! Thanksgiving was awful, and that is what has precipitated this email. I was told I could drive at my three-week check, but I have found that I pay a price for driving and doing too much in a day. The problem is, "what" is too much. It's trial and error. Most of these posts are from several years back. This review reflects only the hospital. I feel that Duke should make sure patients get the care they propose. Their 8 mods do not represent my experience.

Knowing the complexity of my many chronic health conditions and my long medication list, it would be important to me and the staff if I bring my detailed medication list, so I emphasized, many times to make sure my property arrives to my room with me, yet, it was lost for 24 hours hours. During that time, after a complex spinal surgery, I wasn't given my correct medications, or the correct doses at the correct times, which happens frequently when I'm hospitalized, not only at Rex. Once it was found, after I complained to Patients Relations, the head of security came, but for reasons I still don't know. He did a good job explaining how the security process was supposed to work, but he didn't explain how my property got missing. especially, after me emphasizing it's importance to my hospital stay. It was as if he couldn't realize the procedure wasn't relevant. What's relevant is what actually happened and why. His explanation was the most incompetent, unprofessional, and unethical explanation imaginable. His staff members were sleep so he, evidently, didn't think that losing my property was worth waking up his staff members, who knew the details of what happened. A special thank you to my night nurse, Richard, he was incredibly patient, caring, and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. He made a significant difference in my recovery. The only downside is the rooms are very small and not set up for an overnight guest (just one chair, not very comfortable). If you're accompanying someone overnight, I recommend bringing a sleeping bag or a small inflatable bed. Other than that, my experience was excellent, and I truly appreciate the care I received.
