    The awesome apple cider slushee!!!
    Sarah D.

My friend and I were going for a long walk yesterday and we happened upon a farmer's market when we were walking through Caz Park. I had never heard of Duke's Donuts before but I can't pass up anything fall-ish. I bought an apple cider slushee and two apple cider donuts. (I gave one to my friend. You had to spend $5 to pay with a card. The slushee was $4.00--I think--and the donuts were $1.00 each.) The slushee was fantastic. It wasn't as sweet as Mayer Brothers and I didn't get brain freeze while drinking it. (Mayer Brothers was a lot colder, when I got one last week and I drank most of it too quickly.) The apple cider donut was really awesome!! It was crispy on the outside, a bit greasy, and it was a little crumbly when I was down to the last half of it but I really enjoyed it. It was sugary on the outside but not overly sugary. They had one other donut for sale too but I didn't purchase that one. It was a plain fry cake. I'm sure it was good too. I can't wait to visit their actual storefront or to buy more awesome things from one of their food trucks ASAP!!! Their items are heavenly!!!

Apple Cider donut from North Tonawanda Farmer's Market 2019.

I haz a sad. I did not want to believe the reviewers that had bad experiences because I had eaten Duke's Donuts for years - at Williamsville Farmer's Market, at Broadway Market, at other places. They were my favorite. I was pretty disappointed in the one I had recently at North Tonawanda. They used to be crispy on the outside, fluffy and cakey on the inside. Sugar soaked into them when they came right out of the hot oil. That was the best! I will say that the batter is still just as deliciously spiced as always in the apple cider ones. Unfortunately, the one I had recently was flat, squashy, and greasy. And slightly raw in the middle. It was right out of the oil, too. It's hard to tell the difference in the photos, but the old ones were obviously well structured, round donuts, evenly colored/ fried, and evenly sugared. The recent one has clumps of sugar and is kind of flat and oval. I've never tried to make a donut, but I gather the oil quality, cleanliness, and temperature can have a major effect on the finished product. Maybe the donut machine needs to be cleaned or recalibrated? I'm sure that's tough when you're running constantly for hours. Thing is, the batter still tastes as good, so the recipe is probably still right up there. It just looks like they are having some problems frying the donuts properly. I am also amazed that the prices are still ridiculously low. They were a 5 star plus, but not anymore for a raw, greasy donut. You could get it back, though! Keep the delicious batter for the apple cider donuts, just fix the frying.

Ayeeee flurry goodness , i could smell the goodness of these donuts a mile away. I know I would regret not getting one. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -affordable($1, $5 for 6, $10 for 12) -so flurry like clouds -taste different and amazing - glaze was more special them apple cider one Cons: - only 2 flavors -a little oily That's means I would be down to eat more than 2 flavors at once!

Found these at NT farmers market, awesome. Soft inside crunchy and sugary on outside. Apple cider is the bomb.

These are the BEST apple cider donuts I've ever had. I'm from upstate NY so I know all things basic b*tches- from Ugg boots to Pumpkin Spiced lattes. The donut was warm, crispy, chewy, perfectly sweet, and full of Apple-y flavor. Do yourself a favor and get some!

Paula's Donuts helped heal me after surgery - seriously. But first, a few words about the best…read moredonuts in the United States. I feel confident that statement is true. These are not featherweight, boring, drive thru chain donuts that never fail to disappoint. The box says they are "made with love" and while I certainly hope the bakers and makers are not oozing affection for the creations as they do their job (because that would get weird right?), the recipes and standards of ultra high quality that this unique WNY establishment has sure shows a respect and appreciation for their customers. The dough is light and never greasy tasting. The cream fillings are also fluffy and airy and melt in your mouth. Jellies are all top notch and let me be clear, the donuts are packed full with whatever is inside. Or on top. The headlights are incredible. Peanut butter offerings (several to choose from) are stellar. I'm not sure if the chocolate icing is a ganache but it seems much more like a ganache than the lousy, dried out icing you might find at places we need not mention. Staff are always courteous, polite and fast. I think each donut is going for about $2.30 but well worth it for the size and quality. A box of 3 is heavy to hold. You get a lot of donut for your buck. I've been on a Paula's kick for a couple months, stopping in when appropriate for my donut desires but trying to be mindful of my waistline. I like to sit down and really enjoy every bite. These are not ordinary donuts, they are an experience to savor. But how do Paula's donuts help one recover from surgery? It's about what you might do with them. My friend picked me up and brought me home after the hospital and slyly produced a bag of donuts for me, which I sat down and ate the minute I walked in the door. The unexpected gesture of something I've been enjoying a lot lately certainly took my mind off any discomfort. Nice friend, right? Part of recovery is having supportive friends and family and I'm glad I've got that. And I'm glad I also got a bag of donuts to make a "rough day" a lot better. So, Paula's people - I haven't tried them all yet so I guess I'm going to have to return. (Image is different donuts from a different day.)

The donuts are fresh and great quality. They appear the same at all Paula's locations. They're huge…read moreand have lots of filling The service is great and friendly staff

Upon walking in, the store looked like a standard "hole-in-the wall" place and had a simple selection of donuts to choose from. If you want to use a credit card, you have to spend at least $5. Donuts: I got the classic glazed donut, peanut donut, red velvet, and a cream filled donut. The glazed donut was soft and delicious. The peanut donut was more on the crumbly side but still great flavour. The red velvet had a nice cream cheese icing. The cream filled donut had a typical white cream filling. Personally, I liked the glazed donut the best - great texture and wasn't too overly sweet. The pricing here is amazing - $1.50 for great quality donuts! Easy to park on the street. There's no seating inside, so it's more of a takeout place. They also sell lottery tickets alongside donuts. It is certainly worth the visit along the way coming from Toronto.

Never a bad experience or a crusty donut!…read more We needed donuts for my employer's Mardi Gras celebration and I reached out to see if we could place a somewhat large order with specific sprinkles. I was unable to find a large amount of the color scheme but Famous were gracious enough to try and accommodate our needs. The pricing was extremely fair and the donuts were ready as soon as I walked in the door. These are THE FRESHEST, MOST AIRY AND DELICIOUS DONUTS EVER! I suggest that you get here by plane, train or automobile ASAP!
