I go to this liquor store frequently and the young men are always friendly and give me recommendation. I went in tonight and it was an older man working the register. I guess I took to long to pay and he proceeded to tell yell "hurry up i have other customers". another customer heard how he spoke to me and called him out on it. Can't complain about my local wine and spirits store. This place has everything I have always looked for. They offer a wide variety of craft beers, whiskey, wine, and other alcohol. Prices are also reasonable for the area. Staff has always been super friendly! I don't honk I would be trying other stores in the area as long as this one is still in business. read more

Dulaney Valley Liquors totally saved me last month while I was in Towson on family bizness. For an east coast liquor store, they sure have a lot of my favorite California wines, and the prices were just a few dollars more than what I'd pay in CA, which is quite a rarity. Usually you see some slop like Turning Leaf with a price tag of $15. They also had a ton of Italian wines, including a white wine that we drank all day long when we were in Costa Rica a few years ago and haven't seen any where since - Luna di Luna Pinot Grigio. Service is sweet, friendly and prompt. The place is run by a couple of old guys who have been there forever. Stop in and say hi if you're in the area. read more

Any liquor store that carries my brand of beer (Kronenbourg 1664) automactlly gets 5 stars in my book. This place had my beer and great service! I walked and was greeted by the staff and offered help when I looked confused. They were a little confused when I asked if they carried the beer I wanted but I blame it on the fact that I always mis-pronounce the name of it. Overall the service was good and there was some sort of champagne tasting going on but I didn't partake. read more

I ordered a spirit with the owner. He quoted me a price that is above MSRP, but I knew it was a hard to find spirit so I accepted his quoted price. In fact, I noted the price and we discussed it a bit. I told him I would pay for the spirit now, but he told me to wait until it arrives from his other store. A week later I received a call from them telling me it arrived. I drove over and when they rang it up the price was marked up by $100. When I inquired I was told that they purchased it from their other store for a higher price. This seemed odd, and then he told me that other people wanted this spirit and were willing to pay a higher price. I was stunned by what I was told so I walked out. About an hour later I came back to discuss this with the owner. I explained that when he contacted me to tell me it arrived he should have told me about the change in price. Instead this was coming off as "bait and switch". Not to mention was unethical and a lousy business practice. I was not yelling, but I wanted to get clarification about why this was happening. He told me he has the right to refuse business and refused to sell me anything. This is a first for me. I was fortunate to find this spirit at another local store, Wells Liquor on York, where the owner sold me this spirit to me for MSRP. I will never go back to Delaney Wines and Spirits. Lousy business practices. There is nothing I can do about this, but I thought posting this occurrence on Yelp would make you aware. read more

This place is totally awesome. This location has always sold alcohol, but there was an ownership change and the place was dormant for a few months in between transition. It's back and it is definitely better than ever. In a recent visit I walked in to get a jug of Fireball. Why? Because my liver was annoying me. Upon entering I was greeted with a sample of whiskey. I tried it and loved it. I bought a few bottles. But I was still searching for a few specific products. "Debbie" is their in-store wine connoisseur and she was able to walk me through a few options. She is a great resource and she knows her grapes! I went back a week later to grab some more whiskey and one of the gentlemen working there showed me a few new and exclusive products. They had just received a shipment of Jack Daniels Winter Cider whiskey. It was an exclusive flavor produced in limited quantities. It was excellent! I went back a week later and it was G-O-N-E. Should've bought two bottles :-( A third time I went, they had someone handing out the new Stella Artois Cidré. I cannot tell you enough how much I love samples. They seem to always have something going on in there. I traveled to Boston a few weeks ago and went to by some Vodka. Any flavored bottle of Smirnoff was priced roughly $18-$25 dollars. I went to a few places to see if I was just walking into pricier traps. Nope. Alcohol has very different taxes and pricing state-by-state. I guess I was naive. At Dulaney Wines & Spirits that same variety of brand and bottle sells between $13-$17. It's not "Apples to Oranges", but I feel confident proclaiming their prices to be reasonable and fair (even for Towson). Overall, the product variety is great as they feature the classics and the new stuff. The service is amazing with an expert to answer all of your questions. The atmosphere is fun because they aggressively host vender samplings or market with samples independently. The place is great, and BY GOSH I give them the COVETED 5-Star rating! P.S. - Parking is quick and easy, and they have a limited supply of cigars. read more

Stopping in at Dulaney Valley on a random weekday afternoon, I was immediately impressed by the attentiveness of the staff to offer help or a recommendation. Subsequent visits showcased that this was not a one-time gig. Prices are reasonable, the selection is great, there are frequent sales, and Wednesdays offer an additional 10% off of all the liquid goodies sold here. As another bonus, wine tastings occur on Wednesdays with discounts on featured bottles. What's not to like?! read more

I visited this place on a whim. I was getting Pizza next door and didn't feel like driving to my regular wine store. I am so glad I did. They had my favorite The Skinny Vine wine (which is only one WW point). The staff was so friendly and helpful. I returned and the staff recommended a red wine. I mentioned I didn't like red wine because it gives me a headache. Well, the young man convinced me. He recommended LaPassione. I absolutely love this wine. I buy this instead of my usual The Skinny Vine moscato white wine. Th more I visit, the more I learn about the wine shop. They told me about the discount on Wednesdays. They informed me about their testings. This is now one stop place for wine. The are very nice, from the older gentlemen, to the young men. Side note: They do not have wooden wine boxes. read more
