I've been a customer of this place ever since they opened, and it has never disappointed me. Excellent selection of both wines and spirits, and enough beers (about which I am not knowledgeable) to fulfill my needs. The staff knows their products, and the pricing is right. I also appreciate the fact that it is always easy to park. For bourbon drinkers, they seem to frequently have rather special ones that you don't see elsewhere. I'm more of a scotch guy, but have tried a few of their bourbons and enjoyed them. And during these bizarro times they are offering checkout options that minimize contact, which I appreciate. Busy this time of the year, but was able to finally attract the attention of an employee who was very helpful. We got a sweet wine for my daughter-in-law based upon his recommendation and he researched for a beer for me, but unfortunately it was out of stock. Store is large, well lighted, clean and generally well stocked. On one occasion I even was able to purchase a bottle of Buffalo Trace. I'm unaware of the store giving any discounts (veteran, teacher, senior citizen, etc.), so I sometimes shop elsewhere. Huge parking area and a few are HC spaces. read more

I like coming here when I'm in the area; their liquors are cheaper than fine wine and good spirits stores in PA, even when the PA stores run a sale, so I always tend to smuggle back a couple handles when I'm visiting Maryland, even in the morning. Staff is very helpful if you can't find your particular alcohol, and are very nice when their county doesn't mandate masks (I walked out when they yelled at me for not being masked a few months ago, but that's over with and water under the bridge). I'd highly recommend when in the Timonium area. read more

O stars. When you have been a faithful customer for years and realize that doesn't count for anything. The manager was so dismissive and rude. I was somewhat shocked but still spent $120 . I walked my purchase out to the car and I realized I deserve to be treated better so I guess I'll find another place to purchase my liquor. I would have returned everything I bought but it is only 103° outside and I didn't feel like carrying it all back into the store. read more

This liquor store carries a nice selection of beers, wines and liquors. Of the liquor stores in the area, it is much larger with a much larger refrigerated section, too. They carry the basics like your Budweiser, Miller, etc. I like that they carry a nice selection of Belgian beer and other imports. If you are looking for craft brews, they carry it, too. This time I was looking for some specific items and when I asked someone to help me to find the items in the store, they seemed annoyed. The service was meh but maybe it was a bad/slow afternoon prior to the Friday night crowd? I even asked some of my friends if they had the same experience. The only con to this liquor store is that it is in a very busy shopping center- not enough to take any stars off because they can't help that! Sometimes it's just hard to get in and out of. They have a very wide selection of beer, wine, and liquor. The store is fairly large. I think that the prices here are a little cheaper than average, especially for some wines. Staff is very friendly and easy to find if you have a question. I've never had a bad experience with staff. Today when I was buying a gift bag for wine the cashier was even trying to look around to find me some tissue paper to stuff it with. I told him I had plenty at home but it was a very thoughtful gesture. This liquor store isn't the closest to me but it's definitely worth the extra few minutes for the prices, service, and selection. read more

I have heard a lot about this store from friends so I stopped in - what a huge mistake ! The staff was all conversing in the center about inappropriate topics , never even knew I was in the store . At checkout I mentioned it is was my first and last time in the store and why and the clerk said well it's the day after a holiday ( so ?) There are plenty of other stores to buy gifts with friendlier staff and proper conversations. read more

The store has always had a great selection and it's a good layout. I've typically enjoyed shopping here. Recently, I've gotten more into specific wines and bourbons, so I naturally will try to talk to employees to get to know more. Last week I went in to ask about a specific store pick they had and the GM (who I would expect to be the most helpful) was incredibly dismissive and rude. I was so taken aback that I seriously asked if he worked there, because I thought maybe I made a mistake. He barely acknowledged me, gave one word answers to some very basic questions, and scoffed at one point. I can't even recall a time where I've received such a low level and offensive type of customer service. It's a real shame because it put a permanent sour taste in my mouth and I won't be back. read more

Good prices. Very helpful employees. No matter how many times I go and get the same exact thing, someone, at one point will always ask if I need help looking for something. Another reviewer said a young man there was stuck up. To be honest, I have never experienced that. They are quick to help, polite and knowledgable. Happy to live near this one. Keep at it guys! The first time I went in here, the owner accused me of stealing. Said I should have known to leave my bags on the floor by the door - where anyone can take my stuff. A year later, I figure things could be different. I go in, get a nasty attitude when I ask for a bag with handles because I have to walk a mile. Extremely rude, no concern for customers walking through the snow, just plain rudeness. What kind of liquor store doesn't provide bags with handles??? This is some primitive operation. Beware: Transaction Skimming I went in and made my purchase, but it was a little higher than expected. Checking the receipt, I noticed there was an extra $4.99 charge for a 30 pack of beer. I do not know anywhere that sells a 30 pack for $5. I enjoyed shopping with them but the obviously fraudulent charge is a deal breaker. Check your receipts after every purchase! read more

After a very difficult work week, I like to purchase wine. My relatives steer clear of boxed wine, but this store offers the best selection of high quality box wine in the area. I hate opening a bottle of wine during the week, not finishing it, and drinking a terrible tasting beverage. The employees are very friendly and they offer high end liquors-for my husband who loves his bourbon Manhattans, only a single shot with a cherry, bitters, and sweet vermouth. My husband is health conscious and measures his wine to 1/4 cup a night. They employees are very helpful with recommendations for beverages. read more

Just discovered this liquor store by accident and was pleasantly surprised. One of the better liquor stores along the York Rd. corridor and it is located near the fairgrounds, hence the name. It has a very clean, spacious and open floor plan. Excellent selection of wines, liquors and beers, both imports and macros. A very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff is there to answer your questions. There is also a decent selection of cigars as well. read more

Absolutely terrible. While the sales were decent and the staff was kind, one woman in particular kept chasing me throughout the store in a desperate attempt to help even though I wanted nothing of the sort. I did ask her a few questions just because she seemed so hell bent on helping but otherwise I was fine on my own. Worse yet, I happened to run into a coworker while shopping and stopped for a friendly chat with her amd Nothing more, but the woman accused me of purchasing alcohol for her and some random other females that I didn't see while shopping there. They need to check their staff and get them to calm down; not everyone is trying to illegally purchase alcohol for minors. I'll come back again once I'm not accused simply because of how I look(yes, that means I am a woman of color or, in layman's terms, black), or because I wanted to talk to a friend. read more

We have been going to Fairgrounds for years. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. They have consistently carried my order to my car, and if I call or email an order in, it's always packaged and ready for me when I arrive. The owner, Allison Doris, is one of a kind! She is great about guiding me to new things to try, and even offered to deliver an order to my home when I was recovering from surgery. She is a friend to me thru her store and kindness. At Christmas, she puts together gift baskets for me to give to business associates, and all I do is provide the basket and purchase the wines to go in it. Her charge for this service - FREE for being a regular customer! Allison - you are doing everything right! read more

I have been a customer and fan of this store for six years. I really like the owner and have always enjoyed a friendly hello as I entered the store and employees who were happy to help me in making a selection as well as carrying my purchase to my car, if needed. However, after my last two shopping experiences I am wondering if there has been a change in ownership. No friendly hello either time. Today I requested that my purchase ( a 1.75 liter bottle and two 1 liter bottles) be double bagged because it was so heavy. I was told "we don't double bag." Really? You can't spare a second bag for a $130 order? On the visit before this one I encountered a snarky employee who was still there today. I would have given this store a five star review before my last two visits. I am hoping that the owner will see this and get things back to the way they were before. I will go back, but one more bit of unpleasantness, and I will have to go elsewhere. I hope that doesn't happen. read more

Great selection but like other reviews here I found the young guy walking the floor to be cocky and a bit stuck up. I tried striking up a conversation about whiskey and he quickly let me know I wasn't cool enough to talk to him about allocated items. I wonder what he would think if he knew I have over 350 bottles in my collection. I have shopped at this store for years--the prices are reasonable and the selection is good. However, my experience today with the store's manager was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was looking for a particular beer that I had recently purchased at a store in Rockville, and was hoping to find it at Fairgrounds. The manager's attitude towards me simply asking if he could bring it in the store was simply bizarre and very unprofessional. I am disappointed because this used to be my favorite local store to get a nice bottle of wine or locally drafted beers. Maybe he was having a bad day and that's why he was such a jerk.
