Got a popped tire the other day and called to have someone come change my tire. They said they changed tires but, "We don't change tires on Volkswagens because of the socket size." Thought that was a pretty weird set of parameters for a roadside assistance company to have, but it could have been pure miscommunication. They did end up recommending me to Collins Brothers Towing, who did a great job, so everything worked out in the end. Moral of the Story: Just be aware that if you have a Volkswagen, or any car with metric unit measurements on the lug nuts, they might not be able to help you with your tire! read more

Broke down in parking lot of South Pier Inn Duluth MN. Went on YELP they suggested your company for a wrecker. Called and spoke to a nice young man who advised he would get us some help. 10 Minutes later received a call back from company and advised they would be arriving shortly. The driver arrived corrected the problem quickly. He was friendly and pleasant. Total wait time was under 30 minutes. Price was fair. We appreciate the quick response and friendly service. The quoted time of arrival was accurate and the time it took to recover the vehicle was done in a reasonable amount of time. The bill they leave you with is another story. They advertise their business as being out of Meadowlands, but when you inquire about the high mileage you get changed, they will tell you they operate out of Floodwood to justify the excess mileage you get changed. Even though the tow truck was in the area assisting many other vehicles, they charge everyone the excessively high miles from the city they say they operate out of and not the town of Meadowlands, as per their advertised business location. Very shady! In addition to the recovery fee, they will charge you for every equipment item used. Hooks, straps, ... whatever, they will charge extra for. Then once they have fully taken advantage of your situation, they charge you a 10% credit card fee on top of everything. I have dealt with many tow and recovery services in various cities in Minnesota and have never encountered a tow company excessively gouge their customers as much at Mrs. Mac's Towing. If at all possible, avoid using Mrs. Mac's Towing. They are a shady and deceptive company that preys on the unfortunate situations people find themselves in. read more

I had a car breakdown on a forest road, literally in the middle of nowhere, with no cell reception. I got a ride into town, and called Mrs. Mac's Towing because I had AAA. Zak met me in town and we caravaned toward the car- but no one had a real map. We were on the wrong road and *happened* to run into a logger who helped get us to the right spot (praise Jesus!) and found the car, got it on the flatbed and towed to the dealer in Duluth. Zak was calm under pressure and reassuring during a stressful situation. He was responsive whenever I called to check-in on the status, too- we had to wait for him to arrive because emergencies came up on the road, but the wait was worth it. I am so thankful for AAA and Zak for being an amazing professional that helped me in my time of need. I got a little off course trying to find my campsite in Savanna State Forest, and had no idea for the adventure I was in for!
