Excellent, reliable quality. Quality brands you recognize. At Outlet prices! Amazing shopping experience. Previously got all decked out in timeless, quality, washable, cotton, cargo type slacks for a work situation. They look great, wash easily, have already lasted quite well. Have also purchased leather goods and shoes. These are the full thickness, rugged quality type, but also timelessly stylish. As a woman, I also shop for shoes on the men's side. This way I almost always find something on sale. Book bags, belts, purses are also usually there. They have various camping or outdoor type gear. Always interesting to search and find all the useful items you didn't know you needed. But so far, I have used them all and found them helpful. The variety is past any description you could give here. Then there are the clearance, rock bottom price items. Thick, long (below rump length) cotton tee shirts (men's) for $5 (!) on last trip there. Make excellent night shirts or tunics for women. (Extra length appreciated). They were also clearing out all the used computer screens from when the site was the mail order location. ($5 or $10?) The point here being -- you could find almost anything. And merch will differ considerably from one visit to another. Final point, the staff. Every time I have been to the store or called, staff have been helpful, knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly. No natter how strange or old the questions seemed, someone knew the answer. They helped load the car last visit when I had two larger, awkwardly sized items to take to the car. This is an OUTLET location. Ok that being said most of the clothing are returns some worn and stained but if you can find your size, are some amazing deals. My size standard fit 36x30 and my Brother inlaw's Slim fit 30x30 were not available but there were plenty of other sizes. If I lived in the area I definitely would be back. Like other review said they have the great Firehose line and even hats and boots. Also there even deeper discounts on the clearance area. If you're ok with used stuff at a fraction of the cost of new you won't be disappointed. read more

This review is about the product. In the last year we've purchased numerous items from DTC. The reason I decided to purchase their products is because I'm a large frame guy 6'2" 285lbs and their commercials targeted guys like me. Only thing I can say is their products don't last. Their men's underwear they push in their commercials is made from inferior material. Out of 20 pairs purchased in the last 9 months, 13 have deteriorated in areas not know for failure. All 13 have seen the elastic waistband sheer thru the top edge. No pulled threads. All look like they have been cut with a knife. Either it is low quality cotton material or a design flaw. When I called them the woman actually said I probably have the wrong size and to buy larger ones. Number one rule of customer service. Never blame the customer. read more

Let me start by saying that I love DT products! That being said, if you are expecting customer service (especially regarding online orders) this is NOT the company to buy from. I placed an online order on 11/30/20, as of 12/09/20 I still had not received an order update. I connected with DT on the customer service chat tool (after waiting over 25 minutes to speak with someone since I was #48 in cue), once the CS rep explained that my order was delayed due to the season (which was completely unknown to me since it wasn't on their website and I had received no update email) I requested a cancellation. the rep explained that once the order was placed that there "simply was no way to cancel it", she offered to waive the return fee so I could send the product s back once I received them. I explained that I didn't want to wait on them to arrive, I wanted to get a refund. so I could spend my money elsewhere, she said it couldn't be done... I refuse to spend my hard-earned money with a company that obviously feels that they can do what they want once you place an order...a lot of company's have good products but....Customer Service is everything. This location is a true outlet - no returns, no exchanges. I didn't learn that until after my first purchase, but luckily the shoes I bought were the right size and in good shape. I am not in the target market for DTC, so a lot of their items aren't quite worth the cost for me (even when deeply discounted they run a pretty penny). That's not to say they don't have some amazing deals, though - our most recent visit presented women's jeans for $5. They were cleaned out of several sizes when we rolled in on a Sunday afternoon, and who could blame them at that price? The shoes I had purchased at about $70 dollars (leather all-weather booties with thick soles and arch support), marked down from $130, were only $40 on this trip. I debated buying a second pair, but the ones left in my size were pretty beat up and the same color I already had. They had a dig-and-save situation happening in the back of the men's section with $5 used fire hose pants - apparently their retail items have a lifetime guarantee, so buyers can return their torn/stained/worn pants for a new pair (thus explaining the high prices). My gent was able to get four pairs of work pants for $20 - new that'd have run him $260. We repaired the holes with iron-on patches and while they aren't pretty, they'll do just fine for working outside in the snow and slush. Some items are priced totally wacky - nearly 30 bucks for a single pair of boxer briefs? Really? TMI but that's more than I pay for my fancy lady pants. From their website they appear to sell like hotcakes, though, so what do I know? It just seems high for an outlet. Inspect your items and try them on before you check out and you'll be good to go - just make sure you're in 100% before you fork over the cash. For bigger investments it might be worth paying the retail price as an insurance policy if there's not a huge price differential at the outlet store - if it doesn't hold up the way you thought, you have some options. read more

I'm fairly new to Duluth clothing but have found their clothes to be very sturdy and high quality. We tripped out to the outlet because let's be real; at full price it's expensive. I really like supporting merchandise made in the US. We've gotten spoiled as a country by being able to buy super cheap clothing. It's often disposable and there's a larger price to pay when you consider sweat shops paying nearly nothing to workers in terrible conditions. Enough with the soapbox though. This place is in the middle of nowhere. But the employees are really nice and helpful and they also employ people with disabilities which I think is terrific. We easily saved at least 50% off of the retail prices. Now, it's still not inexpensive clothing, but I think they will stand the test of time. My husband says their free range underwear has changed his life. I think paying nearly $20 for a pair of boxer briefs is a bit obscene, but he loves them. Sadly, they did not have any free range undies at the outlet. I like their flannel shirts and the double layer henleys are soft and cozy. My husband and I wear various sizes in Duluth depending on the garment. I would strongly suggest trying everything on since they don't accept returns from the outlet. I hope they'll consider putting an outlet in the Chicagoland area. read more

Good little outlet store with deep discounts on return merch from the regular store & catalog warehouse. Even the tags are marked with reason for return or discount. Small selection compared to regular store, but usually 50% (or more) off $$$ retail. Keep in mind - the "no return or exchange" policy is EXTREMELY enforced. Bought rain jacket for $49 (reduced from $119) in wrong size by mistake, went back into the store just 2 minutes after walking to the car. Too bad - ABSOLUTELY NO EXCHANGES!!! Needed it & liked it, so bought the correct size. There's some bargain bins with some digging involved to make sure your slippers match up. The outlet store used to be a great deal. Its where they bring discontinued and returned items. As they have expanded to multiple stores, the value of the outlet store has gone down the toilet. Yesterday the cheapest shirt I could find was 20 bucks and they all had spots on them. No bargain corner anymore. I really want to like this company, I truly do. Love the Mt. Horeb store, love the items I've purchased there in the past. BUT, for over a year I have tried repeatedly to buy two of their signature long-tail t-shirts, XLG size, in Smoky or Oceanside blue. I've tried on-line, in the store, and over the phone, for a total of at least 6 efforts and probably more. And the shirts are NEVER available! NEVER! What gives? This is DTC's signature product - the shirt they built their reputation on. And they can't keep a common size and color in inventory FOR OVER A YEAR?? I'm giving up. Lots of lip service with their customer service, but no action ...delays in shipments, promises to upgrade shipping because of delays, which were not fulfilled....and just generally about as poor as you could get in fixing the problem. I would usually give a company like this a better review. This is in regards to their online ordering/shipping. We ordered a gift card from Duluth Trading on December 18, 2018. It was part of a "guaranteed to arrive by Christmas" promotion. We did receive an immediate email advising that the order had been placed (and our credit card had been charged). The email also stated that we would receive a follow up email with tracking information as soon as the items shipped. This was obviously a machine generated message. We had not received a follow up email by December 22, 2018. When I called the company today, I was advised by call representative that the do not have a tracking system for gift cards and it would take 5-7 business days to receive the card. Therefore it was possible that we might not receive it until the December 26th or 27th. She didn't even make an alternate suggestion. So much for sending tracking information and so much for guaranteed by Christmas. No more ordering from Duluth Trading for us. Too bad because they do have some nice products. read more

I had nothing but trouble ordering stuff. Once they sent my items to the billing address instead of the shipping address I gave the person on the phone 4 TIMES. the second time the things I got weren't what I ordered. The third time I ordered Buck Naked underwear they had on sale in an Email but it neglected to tell you that it was the nylon version, I have the cotton version, and the nylon underwear feel like junk. I have stopped at the outlet store a couple of times and found some pretty good deals. Other reviews have cautioned about the no return policy and that's a must know heads up. Here's another heads up. DO NOT believe the sizes on the tags. Try everything on to make sure it fits before plunking done your $$. The tags written on the return or the tags sewn in the item are not to be believed. I am thinking that one reason for the returns is that they were tagged incorrectly. One down side to the outlet store is that many customers already know to try on before they buy and the store only has 2 dressing rooms. I was there on a busy Saturday and the wait for a room was like 15-20 minutes because most folks (me included) were picking up an arm load of deals. It's been a while since I've been to the store and it would be nice for them to have added another fitting room. If not, plan your visit on a slow day or budget time to shop and try on items, BUT remember to try them on before you buy. read more
