I had a very disappointing and troubling experience at Duly Health and Care in Wheaton. I arrived for a scheduled neurology appointment (suite 100) after calling ahead to inform the office I would be approximately 15 minutes late. I arrived exactly when I said I would. Despite this, I was treated in a hostile and dismissive manner by a front-desk staff member (Susan/Sue), while observing other patients were treated warmly and courteously. What was especially concerning is that during my time there, I observed other patients--who were not Black or brown-skinned--being treated with courtesy, patience, and respect, while I was spoken to harshly and dismissively. The difference in tone, body language, and manner of interaction was noticeable and deeply troubling. I was told there was an insurance issue, even though I had just been seen earlier that same week by my primary care doctor at the same facility. After being sent between departments and waiting nearly two hours, another staff member confirmed the issue was an internal administrative error--not mine. Despite the internal confirmation that the issue was an administrative error, I was still denied care. The receptionist (Susan/Sue) called the neurologist (Jeremy Schmitz), who confirmed that I could not be seen and instructed her to tell me to return at 2:20, without asking if that was possible for me or offering any alternative accommodation. I was given no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, and no attempt to make the situation right. I ultimately left without being seen. This experience felt demeaning, unprofessional, and discriminatory. Healthcare settings should be places where all patients are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope this review encourages meaningful improvements in patient communication, front-desk professionalism, and accountability. DMG is a full service medical care organization. They have tests such as radiology, lab and so on. And of course a large number of specialties. This group is a one stop shop for all of your medical needs. They also have the best doctors in the area. This visit was flawless from the time of arrival until I left. My doctor saw me promptly at my appointment time, gave me a thorough physical and great advice. I have been going to DMG for a few decades now. I will never trust my care to anyone else. read more

My son and I came to this family doctor office for the 2 step TB test which was required by his CNA class. We had an order by our primary doctor because we have HMO insurance. The receptionist was friendly and professional. We got checked in right away. The waiting room is cleaned and organized. This TB skin test is only available at the Wheaton office. We got to see the nurse within 5 minutes after checking in. After that, we came back 3 days later for the result reading, which had to be done by a doctor. The result reading only took a minute. I am very happy with the service. There are the restrooms for men and women at each level. It was very clean. I will definitely come back in the future. read more

After spending 42 minutes on hold listening to recorded commercials, I find no reason to pursue this further inasmuch as my call from last week was returned on a Sunday Afternoon with this office number as the call-back. I have grown up going to DMG and loved my experience. The past few times I have been were unprofessional, disorganized, and uncomfortable. I recently had a tele health GI appointment. My doctor was on the video call in a group office with other coworkers, that I could clearly see, behind her. She did not have headphones of any kind on, so I knew that everything I said was heard by them. She discussed my private information such as medication, symptoms, and treatment plan with people in the background that could clearly hear everything she was saying. I felt that this was a violation of my privacy and it was extremely uncomfortable. She was also dismissive, rushed, and not personable. read more

Couple of mos ago I had my routine appt. When the bill came for my portion it seemed high. I called the billing office to see if they could review for accuracy. The person said there appears to be a possible a coding issue. They told me to call the physicians office. (apparently billing office employees don't have to resolve billing issues). I called the Wheaton office and the person said they would look into and call me back. I never heard back so I called a few days later. Again said they would call me back. Again..they never did. Finally i decided just to pay it. It may have been correct but it may not have been. Guess I'll never know. All I wanted was the bill double checked and a return phone, They would not do either. They clearly take thier customers for granted. They never would not been paid. I always pay what I owe. They got thier money but will be losing much more as I will likely not go back due to this poor customer service and hope to discourage others. read more

Here is my most recent experience: I saw Dr. Dr. Stuart Heimburger today, an obstetrician for a regular prenatal checkup. 'Stewie's' demeanor during the appointment was terrible, as if I was inconveniencing him by being there and asking questions. He prescribed me a medication without taking the time to explain how to take it. When I picked up the medication from the pharmacy, the directions from the physician were: Take as directed. No one ever told me how to take this medication! So, I called the on-call physician an hour ago and have yet to hear from him. So far, I have dealt with obstetrics and gynecology (on my 3rd pregnancy), pediatrics (I now pay out of pocket for my children's care elsewhere - it's worth it to me), orthopedics, and dermatology and I'm finding this to be a pretty standard experience when receiving service through Dupage Medical Group. As for the office staff, it does not matter what department or branch of Dupage Medical Group I am dealing with, I am on hold for a very long time. When my call is finally answered after a minimum of 15 minutes of listening to Vivaldi and jazz music alternatively while on hold, the staff members that I've dealt with are pleasant a very small percentage of the time. Of course, in such a large 'conveyer belt' style of health care you will find good eggs and bad eggs. But I am finding that the number of bad practitioners and staff workers far outnumber the good. Unfortunately, as with many of their patients I am sure, I am stuck here as my HMO will only cover services by this group. I have no other choice but to receive medical care here and they act as though they know it. If you must use this group like I must, Drs. Siegel and Stoeffler are your best bet for decent care. If you have other options: use those instead! read more

They don't know how to bill insurance correctly and ended up with a $200 charge for a single, hour long, physical therapy appointment in which the PT was absolutely no help and spent more than half the time explaining what the injury I already knew about was. read more

I have been a patient with DuPage Medical Group for years with my Primary Care Physician, but this was my first experience with OB as this was my first pregnancy. I LOVED my doctors (Drs. Frangella, Weeks, Phillipe, Martin & Kagen). They have several offices where you can see all of the doctors in the practice for your convenience. I did find that wait times at the Rolling Ridge office tended to be longer than at the Spalding office. (Those were the only two offices I chose to go to, so I cannot speak to other offices.) I always felt like I was in great hands with my group of doctors, they all made an effort to get to know me and my hopes for labor and delivery. At our 20 week ultrasound it was discovered I had a low-lying placenta, and Dr. Martin personally called me to explain what that means. At my next appointment, with Dr. Weeks we discussed it in more depth and he did let me know that 90% of these low-lying placentas self correct later in pregnancy as the uterus explands. Per the doctor's instructions we scheduled a follow up ultrasound around 31 weeks to check the position of the placenta, which had indeed self corrected. The scheduling staff is also great - I forgot to schedule my weekly appointments for the last month of my pregnancy, and when I called the receptionist was able to find weekly appointments for me at the offices I preferred, at times that worked well (I requested either early morning or late afternoon/early evening due to my work schedule). Dr. Phillipe delivered my baby, and she was wonderful. I have to admit, she wasn't my *favorite* physician during my pregnancy, simply because I am a "cross that bridge if/when we get to it" and she is more of a "I want you to be informed for any scenario" type of physician. Which I can appreciate. After my delivery experience I must say that I am a big fan of hers! I would definitely recommend this practice to friends and family (in fact, I already have!). read more

After two months in a row of my pharmacy telling me that my doctor never responded to the prescription refil request, I finally called to figure out what was going on. I was told the following: "Honestly, the pharmacy does not call, it faxes us. We get over 50 faxes a dayso we don't respond to them." Seriously? You just ignore a request for a prescription refill? The annual frustration of scheduling my appointment is upon me soon so I may need to find a new doctor. Whenever I call, they are always booked solid for at least two months. So this year I thought I would get on this early and called 4 months in advance. I was told they only schedule out 2-3 months in advance, and I would have to call back later. read more

Every visit no matter what the reason is extremely rushed. They treat you like a timed number and not a person. I think this is stemming from pressure for doctors to see x amount of patients per day, like a quota. Dupage medical group did not used to be this way a few years back. Now they act like a "for profit" organization who treat you like a box to check off a list and not a person. They even notate your chart "saw patient more than 15 minutes". I've seen a doctor who was so rushed to get me out she sent me for a procedure and didn't even explain what it was. Thank goodness I googled it because it was intense and required preparation so I had to go back to her and get the information before going. Getting blood drawn is also a nightmare, you are treated like hearding cattle. The phone reps also give inacurate information. After my last appointment I will be looking elsewhere. Maybe if they lose enough patients they'll realize they need to SLOW DOWN and have doctors have a smaller quota and actually take time with their patients and not rush them out the door. read more

Dr heimburger is by far the worst OB I have ever seen. He ended up delivering my son by what I have found out to be an unnecessary Csection. This guy is surgery happy, just read the other reviews. He does not have The patient's best interest in mind. He does not listen or explain anything. My son ended up with serve torticollis and plagiocephaly and I am still in therapy for horrible ptsd and ppa/ppd. Please choose another Doctor in the group who will listen, and provide great care. I have since switched groups with my current pregnancy so I do not end up with him. read more

I'm told incorrect information many times and when I called and emailed about prescribed medication being safe it took 3 follow up calls and still 2 days to get a response for medicine I needed to start immediately. I was going to just stick with it but they won't tell my insurance if they're a preferred provider. I refuse to pay out of network for substandard medical care. read more

SEEK CARE HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! This office is like a baby factory. They don't update your chart correctly, nor does one doc talk to the next or the nursing staff. I had a bad feeling at this office so I transferred care. Upon having my records transferred (which took 3 requests BTW), my current doc called to ask me how they treated my UTI that was diagnosed on 4/15/08. Well guess what? They *NEVER* told me about it. I had assumed that the horrible back pain along with sharp bladder pains were simply regular pregnancy aches and pains. Nope, turns out the UTI from 4/15 had turned into a kidney infection as it went 5 weeks w/o treatment! I called the main office to file a complaing and am waiting to hear back. This type of negligence is disgusting and hopefully my pregnancy won't suffer further from it. read more

I don't know what any of these people are talking about with these docs! I have had NOTHING but great experiences for the past 5 years. These doctors (Heimberger, Cannon, Seigel, Bernardo) have helped me get pregnant twice, guided my husband & I through the loss of our first infant son, and saved my life and the life of my 25 week gestational aged son this past March (2013). Literally, SAVED my LIFE! My son & I would not be alive today if it weren't for these doctors. We owe them so very much. I have never waited on hold for too long to talk to a medical staff member for any reason. They are always beyond friendly with me and know me by name and can talk to me about things that have happened in the past. My 2 nieces and 2 nephews have all been delievered by this OB group. I cannot say enough good things about them! I will never ever ever go to any other OB/GYN group as long as I have the choice. People's high expectations can sometimes get in the way of what could otherwise be a very pleasant experience. Doctors are people, too. They're going to have good and bad days and even though that doesn't make up for missing a diagnosis, we need to be a little bit considerate of the fact that we dont' know what other things a doc has dealt with that day or in their own personal life. Beyond that, these men & women have been in practice for so long that I'm thinking they probably have a clue what they're doing, no? read more

They are licensed doctors so if this is who you are forced to have treat you - you will survive, though it may be unpleasant. If you have a choice I highly recommend that you do NOT use these doctors. You rarely get to see the doctor of your choice and in general there is just no compassion. From my experience they did minimal necessary, were in the room for only a few minutes. This was fine for routine gyne, but when I went in for OB the doctor blew off my questions and concerns. I knew this was not right ( I am diabetic ) and immediately found a different doctor/practice. (Seeing my new doctor, she ran tests, talked to me about my nutrition and various concerns for the health of me and the baby, and had me in to see a high-risk OB at the hospital within a week. ) read more

After three years of being a patient here. I have to write a review. While the staff is usually friendly and I've had no problems with the doctor I visit (Dr. Heimburger), the administrative process has been a nightmare. I never receive any notifications if I am due for an appointment. My pharmacy has had to call multiple times to get information about my prescription. The office has never called my pharmacy back so I have to call on behalf of the pharmacy. It is near impossible to get someone on the phone and don't bother leaving a message, they won't call patients back either. The final straw for me was providing my new insurance information to the office (twice!) and they still managed to bill the wrong provider. This resulted in several more phone calls that I have to make to straighten it all out. It is just too much work to deal with this office. read more

I went to DMG's OB/GYN office for my first and only pregnancy. In my chart it stated that I was 40+ and therefore a high risk pregnancy patient. They never paid attention to this important fact. Every time I called with a complication, I never was able to speak to a doctor, despite asking for one. I developed severe problems which were blown off at appointments by the doctors. The final blow was the night I called with a threatened miscarriage. The doctor told me she would contact the hospital and let them know I was coming in. She would meet me at the ER, too. She never called or met me - it was a bold-faced lie. She went off-duty without checking on me. I ended up miscarrying my baby and the cause might have been able to have been prevented with proper information that I never received. It has been almost 8 months since this event and I NEVER heard from any of the doctors past my 6 week follow-up. No apologies, nothing. I ended up leaving this office and found a better doctor elsewhere with a different medical group. My advice to anyone looking at this medical practice is to look elsewhere. You will not get the care you deserve. read more

He explained everything really thoroughly before I even needed to ask him questions, though he did provide plenty of opportunities to ask anything additional. I transferred at 5 months pregnant from the city (northwestern-which was a complete baby factory) and was referred by a friend to Dr. Heimburger. I was so pleasantly surprised to always be able to talk to a doctor, never an NP which was not the case at Northwestern. They were able to fit me into their schedule for my frequent appointments toward the end of both pregnancies and Dr. Heimburger took the time with my husband and I on every visit. He is thorough and is very cautious which made me feel that I and both my children were always in the best hands. I recommended Dr. Heimburger to my friend who was pregnant with her 5th child after she moved to Glen Ellyn and she loved him just as much. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I have had wonderful experiences with the doctors (Frangella, Weeks, Phillipe, Kagen). On occassions I have had the doctors personally call me to check my progress. I would highly recommend this group of doctors. I perfer early am appointments as sometime some of the doctors run behind schedule. read more
