My experience getting my Annual Exam was abysmal. First, the office staff was gossiping in earshot of Pt's in the waiting room; I was also able to hear an insurance of another Pt review occurring (gives me privacy concerns). I could have overlooked these things as they are fairly minor IMO and happen everywhere. However, when I was called back, the nurse did introduce herself (standard/best practice in healthcare is to introduce yourself and your role), and did not smile the whole time I tried to talk to her. Yes, no one owes me emotional labor, however a small social smile welcoming a new Pt would have been nicer and helped put me at ease (and lets be honest, most people going to the GYN are at least a little anxious...PAPs are no fun). She was frustrated I did not want to be weighed (please note: it is valid to refuse any medical test, including weight) and was unsure of my exact weight in that very moment (she signed, rolled her eyes, and spoke in clipped speech). She was also visibly upset that I had not had a period in 10yrs due to having an IUD and therefore could not give her a "last period date." I tried explaining I had an IUD and couldn't remember the last time, but she continued to sigh heavily. It was at this point I decided to leave my appointment. I have worked in healthcare (hospital and private practice settings) for 15yrs and I understand frustration with Pt's who don't know answers or who don't go with the flow (ex refusing to be weighed), but to treat someone with increasing hostility because they don't know answers is not good practice. I become so upset I began to have a panic attack and shake and was on the verge of tears and I am not typically that kind of person. It takes A LOT for me to feel so uncomfortable I have to leave a place. Gynecology is a sensitive speciality dealing with extremely sensitive and personal matters, to have staff who treat Pts as adversaries is not acceptable. Further more when I left no one expressed concern over why a Pt would be so upset they would have to leave an important medical exam. The doctor was standing right there looking at me and said nothing. This is not a practice interested in doing better, this is NOT a practice for you if you have any level of anxiety or need any warmth or compassion from your providers. It's also not the practice for you in you care about your HIPAA rights (ex. having insurance calls with doors open where Pt's can hear in the waiting room).

Yes. Thats the nature of this specialty. I am honestly shocked by all of the negative reviews here. Dr Jensen has never been anything but forthcoming, honest and compassionate, especially during my times of pregnancy loss. I agree with the other reviewer that this feels like Duly has forced her out. The letter received about her departure was short and vague. If Dr Jensen is choosing to retire, why not just say that? Duly certainly has their hand in this one, once again putting profits over patients.

She would stay and answer questions and was one of the most knowledgeable, caring, and hard working physicians I have ever known. I believe that Duly forced her departure with their neverending push for profitability. It just doesn't pay off for private equity when doctors spend too much time with the patients. Please beware before you are paying estimated costs. They conveniently never told me the onetime I paid it that my insurance paid it and I had to argue with Joe for my refund. After receiving multiple confirmation texts over the past month, and confirming each, today I received a notification of a bill estimate for my appointment. Today is the 29th. I call them to update my insurance information, as I was recently married. Billing informs me that my appointment was cancelled on the 18th. I'm transferred to scheduling, who tells me it was cancelled on the 20th. My appointment that I made a year ago. My appointment that I make every year, at the very end of the calendar year. They insist that they left a message, which I never received, informing me that a provider I have never heard of is no longer with their location, and that I would need to reschedule, and that the appointment would be cancelled if they didn't hear back from me. This after receiving, literally five hours ago, an estimate of my balance that would be due for the service that was apparently cancelled over a week ago. They cannot book me within the calendar year now. The entire point of scheduling it at this time is for my insurance. I drive an hour to their location when I could go literally anywhere closer. My question is--if the appointment had to be rescheduled regardless, why would they say the appointment was cancelled because I didn't call back (to the voicemail I never received)? If it was simply a provider issue, they didn't inform me the first time they changed my provider for that appointment slot. I have always seen the same provider, and now that provider only works in telehealth. So the provider they replaced her with was done without informing me, and no appointment was cancelled whenever that happened. So why was it cancelled this time, when ostensibly it was the same situation? Why was I told two different dates for when the appointment was supposedly cancelled? Why would I receive a bill today for a service that was cancelled last week? I am beyond frustrated. I was told there was absolutely no way they could honor my original appointment, which again, I made a year ago. I don't know how much money they've made from me over the past four or five years, but I always opted for the additional recommended tests that aren't traditionally covered by insurance. I was prioritizing my health. I've even defended their excessive billing practices to friends I've personally recommended after they ultimately had a poor experience with their office. But I'm telling you now, don't waste your time or your money with the Wright Center. It's simply not worth it. They clearly have no regard for their own commitments.

I really felt like I was being analyzed as customer life revenue source. On the last visit, the doctor proceeded to read the nurse's notes on a question I wanted to ask her and had her raise her voice at me about how nonsensical it was to think a condition my mother had would have anything to do with me. Before asking me to clarify. I have known other individuals to have had perfect relationships with the doctor, and with the staff in general, but for me, this is definitely NOT a location I feel safe in to obtain objective medical care. It's not fun sitting in a cold ass room in a paper gown in the middle of January for 45 minutes, amirite? Ugh. Thank god it's only a once a year thing. I've been seeing Dr. Szwedo for at least ten years now. I previously had a different doctor but her bedside manner was less than ideal and she spent more time lecturing me about dental and general practitioner visits. You know, stuff completed unrelated to the reason for my visit. I gave that whackadoo the boot and was going to hunt for a new doc, but I lucked out as Dr. Szwedo was in the same building but a slightly different practice group. Dr. Szwedo is so nice and I've never once felt uncomfortable with her. She always asks if I'm still "living in sin" and while I'd be offended if anyone else asked that, it makes me crack up when she asks. Hopefully someday I'll give her a different answer and totally shock her. Last year as we were wrapping up the visit she asked if I wanted to continue with my same prescription, and I answered affirmatively. I've been on the BCP for 18 years, and well, "it it ain't broke, don't fix it." She did bring up other options for me and said if I ever wanted to change my mind, she'd be glad to help me out. She's fully aware that I'm childfree by choice and plan to stay that way, and she never tries to throw the ol' "oh you'll change your mind someday" spiel at me. It's much appreciated since being childfree by choice is so hard for people to understand, let alone accept. For anyone on the hunt for a friendly, non-judgmental doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Szwedo.
