I knew I was carrying a lot of extra tension, so I decided to try Radiant Health Massage to let my body relax. The website explained the different types of massages and add-on services available. You can also book online! Since I was primarily looking to de-stress, I chose the 60-minute Swedish massage with a sugar scrub for hands and feet. (You can also select 90 or 120 minutes.) I received an emailed receipt and an intake form that went over any important health conditions and massage preferences. When I arrived on the evening of my massage, I parked in the back lot. (It's the one to the left.) I walked up the staircase to the second floor and rang the bell, as the sign instructed. Muriel warmly welcomed me to the office. (It's a room divided with panels. A desk area is in the front and the massage table in the back.) We discussed my primary reason for my the massage (relaxation!) and pressure preferences. Muriel brought me to the massage area and showed me where I could put my things. She noted that a heated pad was on the table, and when I told her I loved this kind of heat, she also pulled out an additional body warming pad to use throughout the massage! She made sure the soft music was okay, and there was also a lovely water fountain. Once I got myself settled, Muriel did her magic. She checked to be sure the pressure was okay several times. I didn't fall asleep, but I entered what might be described as a meditative state. It was really peaceful! The sugar scrubs were also very relaxing, and I really loved the hot towels and lotion at the end. My hands and feet are still soft days later! It was exactly what I needed to help my stress to melt away. At the end, she gave me a small bottle of water and chatted for a bit about bookings. Muriel shared that she's now offering a subscription option. For $65 a month (that goes toward a service), you'll get 15% off the regular massage price. (Muriel told me this amount carries over if you miss a month.) I really enjoyed my massage here. I'll definitely be back--especially when I'm stressed out from grading papers!

11/4/23 BACKGROUND:…read more I've done Thai massage, deep-tissue massage, Lomi massage throughout the years. My husband and I are in town visiting friends. We decided last minute to do a massage. I didn't go for the ambiance, I wanted a good massage. Walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so you can techinically hear conversations in the adjoining rooms. Not a problem as we knew everyone. There is no door on the room, just a sliding curtain. I requested a female.. Most places will ask you to remove your clothes but leave your bottom underwear on. They instructed to remove everything , but I left my underwear on because that's what I'm comfortable with. I like medium pressure because that's what I feel benefits me. Not necessarily immediately, but I feel it later. It was a 1 hr massage. I started off under the sheet as with most places. Most will massage over the sheet. This one was actually akin to skin. This is the first time I literally had a head to toe deep massage. Areas that's not the usual areas were: buttocks area, face, along neck up to scalp. I could feel knots that I didn't know existed . If you're not comfortable just say no. I was ok as I got a female. My husband requested a make, but if he had a female , he would not have liked it. A good therapist can find all the tough spots without asking. You do need to communicate if pressure is too hard or soft or if it hurts , say ow. All 4 of us LOVED our massages. It was one of the best that I've had in awhile!
