I went on Saturday to drop off electronics on the once-a-month day to do that. It was raining…read more There were two cars in front of me. ALL the employees were under the tents doing nothing. I sat for a few minutes waiting and no one was doing anything. I got out of my car with my umbrella, walked over to the clowns and asked who checks ID. I was told the person was sitting in their car. As I walked over to that car, I saw a huge lineup of vehicles behind my car that went out almost to the road because your group of employees chose to not wear rain gear or work. I had to jolt the man out of the car who was playing on his phone rather than doing his job. I needed to get to work, not manage your lazy, unprepared crew of clowns. I would like a job I can sit and do nothing and get paid. Get rid of your lazy crew and get better people that will come prepared to work in the rain and be efficient in what they do!!!

We had paint in our garage that we didn't need. So we went to a hazardous/household waste drop off…read moresite where we've gone before - only to find that our city no long participates in their program. I called our City Hall and found out that we need to drive to Wheelabrator on State Road 7 south of State Road 84. This is nowhere near our city limits but I guess they made a deal, so that was where we went! I used to work in Hollywood and I have passed this location 100's of times. It's that smelly, hillside with a building on top that you see right before you get on the I595 ramp. The smell creeps in your car as you drive by, even if your windows are shut tight. When we went there, the guy at the gate was friendly and directed us to the drop off area. We drove up to another guy who was equally friendly and pointed to a woman standing behind a table, who'd accept the paint. She was nice too. It was blazing out and they were standing in the sun but each one could not have been more friendly. We quickly dropped off the paint and another guy wished us a wonderful weekend as we drove away. I wasn't keen on having to take the highway just to drop off paint but the people at Wheelabrator were just fabulous. I hope that their management treats them like gold because from the moment we engaged with the first guy to the moment we drove out the gate we didn't smell a thing - we were so focused on how we were treated that nothing else mattered. That's amazing! In case you want to know what else Wheelabrator does besides collect hazardous waste for Broward cities, here's their description from their site: "Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Wheelabrator South Broward Inc. waste-to-energy facility provides dependable, environmentally safe disposal of municipal solid waste for Broward County Florida, while generating clean, renewable electricity for sale to the local utility. Designed, constructed, owned and operated by Wheelabrator, Wheelabrator South Broward processes up to 2,250 tons per day of municipal solid. Wheelabrator South Broward has an electric generating capacity of 66,000 kilowatts; the equivalent of supplying the electrical needs of 38,000 Florida homes." Smells like a great company to me!
