I have yet to find a Chinese takeout spot that is consistent and hits the spot. Po Wong is the closest I've come to that (still not my preferred but they do the job). I got the Chicken w Broccoli which was a bit too saucy and the flavor was a bit off. The portion was solid and the chicken was cooked well, but it needed more salt and seasoning. The broccoli was fresh and tasty, but was loaded in this sauce which took away from it. The Vegetable Fried Rice is so good! Some of the best I've had and I like that their fried rice has a brown tint to it (most places I see nowadays are yellow). The Fried Yellow Banana was sweet, well-fried, and greasy. It's a nice appetizer to share and super cheap for what you're getting. There are some hits & misses on the menu. What a pleasant surprise ordering from PO WONG was! We had our order delivered and it arrived in the window they supplied. We both loved our meals. I had a large beef & broccoli, and my girlfriend had General Tso's Tofu, and with a generous tip it all cost $20 DELIVERED. I got shrimp with broccoli combination with eggroll. I opened it up and as soon as you open, all you smell is like rotten like something in that dish or something that plate is rotten. Then I looked at the egg egg was good. It wasn't greasy at all, has no flavor whatsoever and also I went to just now go bite the fried rice and it has absolutely not any single bit of flavor. I called to place a delivery order and was immediately met with rudeness. The man who answered the phone refused service, claiming we "never pick up the phone"--even though we haven't ordered in over a year. His tone was aggressive and dismissive from the start. I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the poor customer service. Whoever answers the phone should be more understanding and not shut down a customer before the order has even started. read more

I've never been here till my GF had me try it one day. It's a husband and wife team that has been there for 20 years. It's the best Chinese food especially the small price for such high quality food. Get anything here and you'll love it. The interior is a little dark but it is a sit-down with a large dining room not just takeout like most Chinese places now. This is an amazing throw back! Everything is cooked to order and the husband and wife have running it the same way for 20 years. Their wonton soup actually has the scallions and long cubed pork that alot of newer restaurants don't use in order to save. Everything is cooked with a nice smokey wok flavor which makes me happy. The delivery took 1 hour and 20 minutes. On top of that, the general tso's chicken I ordered was 80% skin and 20% chicken. This place is amazing I've been ordering and eating here since grade school. I grew up in union city and I would say I've been eating here since I was 9 years old. I'm very close with the family who owns this place. They are great people and the chef of this place is amazing. The food you get here is not your mediocre yellow fried rice Chinese food. This place has the BEST fried rice I've ever had . I recommend their pu pu platter for party of 4 . They have lots of choices to pick from. I recently moved to jersey city and they delivered here but I haven't seen their menu in a while and I went all over Google looking for a menu lol and never found it. The service is consistently kind and quick, the food is always fresh and good quality, and the prices are more than reasonable. Po Wong still has the absolute best wonton soup in the area, with flavorful broth, tons of noodles, and huge strips of roasted porn. They do it right here. If you've ever gone to a "hood" Chinese Food spot that gives you two undercooked wontons in a quart of greasy water, prepare to have your mind blown. The chicken wings are plump and juicy, always cooked perfectly. The Pu Pu platter is a great deal - everything cooked well and in generous portions considering the price. The food was A1. We had the Bone-In Spare Ribs, Shrimp and Broccoli with veggie fried rice, Chicken wings and pork fried rice. Portions were generous and excellent. Totally cute family owned Chinese food - the food was presented beautifully, and everything was made fresh. We are visiting from out of town and craving Chinese food, picked this place based on reviews. First off, we were hoping for delivery, woman didn't know address so we opted just to pick it up. When we got there the service was awful. We ordered soup, which we noticed was not in the bag, politely asked for it and she responded "Nope, you should have ordered it earlier" Also, yelp says they take credit cards, not true, this is cash only per same rude lady. She also yelled at my husband when he asked what kind of soda they had. Husband ordered beef and mushroom, it was bland and basically just gravy. best chinese food I've had in the neighborhood. we tried this restaurant for the first time today. we ordered chicken wing combos, fried plantains, shrimp w/ mixed vegetables, & vegetable lomein. my fam really liked he chicken! i liked that both noodles n veggies were flavorful and the shrimp was cleaned. the only thing was that the noodles & shrimp vegetable dishes were a bit oily and so it wasn't as enjoyable. otherwise, delivered promptly n food was warm. definitely will order again from here. read more

The reason for the 2 stars are the yummy unbreaded chicken wings, well cooked lo mein and food was still hot after waiting an hour for the delivery. The Cons: Beside lack of flavors... -Broccoli was way over cook to point of mush. I didn't even need to chew. Beef was ok. 1/4 of the container was filled w/sauce. Too much sauce compared to food. -Hot and sour was neither spicy[hot] or sour. It was extremely runny. Almost like someone just pour water into the container with some soy sauce. -Chicken Lo mein was flavorless The Pro: -Food still hot after waiting an hour for the delivery -Lo mein was el dente -flavorful umbreaded fried chicken wings Last, the deliver guy couldn't figure out how to use the intercom. Our intercom is search by name and not by #. He claimed he couldn't figured out how to use it even thought the instruction was right next to intercom. And i was giving him instructing over the phone. I gave up and my husband went downstairs from our 3rd floor apt to fetch our dinner. Without saying this is our first and only time that we will be ordering from them. Nope--at least not what I tried. Got the roast pork egg foo young (never had that before so can't really compare) as a combo so it came with pork fried rice & egg roll. It was drowned in gravy (leaked through to the bag) & the pork in the fried rice was just chewy bits of nothing. The usual bad greasy Chinese fare with little taste. Threw a third of it away. At least it was cheap--less than $7. They only take cash though. Maybe their other stuff is better but don't know if I'd bother to try the place again. Should stick to dining in NYC! read more

I ordered from this restaurant today. I gave the person who took my order my phone number, digit by digit, and both times she read it back to me correctly. I advised her to please have the delivery person call as the bell does not work. She told me my delivery would arrive in 30 mins, when the 50-55 min mark reached, I called to ask for the status of my delivery. She tells me that the driver called my phone several times and left messages and then returned to the restaurant. She proceeds to hang up on me after telling me this. I call back and ask her when will he be returning with my food and she said "he don't go back, sorry" and hung up on me yet again. All of this while I'm here starving and waiting over an hour for dinner for me and my daughter. I actually found this great place from another foody. I pull up right infront of the place, just my luck with the parking...i walk in its a little dark but man i got the real authentic chinese food about to be served feel!...one person was in there eating, a few more people came to pick up take out....so as i was browsing the menu i went with the teriyaki chicken and pork fried rice...and egg fu young with pork fried rice.....i cant have enough rice lol #fatboyproblems...both meals, BANGING! Terrible. The place was empty and so quiet. You'd think like wow ..theres no way she's going to mess up 1 small order. I said It nice and clear and she repeated it back to me to confirm. No one. I repeat no one said anything near the word "soup". When I'm almost close to home already I realize she gave me soup so i call & tell her there was a mistake. Instead of owning up to the fact that shes wrong ( cus my bf was there and we both wanted fried wontons so he knows I'm right too) she keeps accusing me of telling her I wanted wonton soup when I specifically said Fried Wontons so she starts getting louder and louder.
