Oh, well. Like other Costco with fuel, the gas pumps are located. Unless you have a massive vehicle, you can use the pumps on either side as they have very long hoses that will reach across most cars. Prices here are lower than other gas stations in the area because your fuel is "subsidized" by your Costco membership. When you get to the pump, scan your membership card and then your credit card. That seems to be the result of following the everything on pallets store philosophy instead of having a real store layout. Checkout is generally swift but they offer no bags of any kind. Then after paying and the products legally belong to me, I have to wait in line so that a Costco employee can pretend that they're checking my receipt against my cart contents. Then they deface my receipt with a marker assuming I never would have cared about being able to read the receipt later.

You'll have to load all the contents of your cart onto the conveyor yourself, as checkers have no assistance and it must not be part of their job description. Bathrooms need more often cleaning, and could definitely use updating. I now see why most of my friends and family prefer the Champaign Costco. Avoid at all costs!

I spoke with Shannon (or Sharon, I apologize if I have the name slightly wrong). She was professional, patient, and extremely helpful with the extra paperwork required because I'm with a nonprofit. She made the process smooth. Blake, the operations manager, then reached out promptly, gathered detailed information about the refrigerator, the ice machine, and the other units that needed maintenance, and scheduled the appointment at a time that worked for both of us. On the morning of the service call he called to let me know the technician was on the way. Chris, the service engineer, arrived on time and was outstanding. He started with the ice machine, walked me through the troubleshooting steps as he went, and quickly isolated the problem to a dump valve. He gave me the option to clean or replace it, I chose to replace it for long-term reliability. He even had a compatible part on the truck, confirmed it with the office, installed it, and showed me the correct operating cycle so I could see it was fixed properly. He then cleaned the other units that needed maintenance and taught me the process so I can do it myself every three months (while also offering ongoing service if I prefer). Finally he diagnosed the True refrigerator, identified the failed part, and determined it was covered under a True recall/warranty. He coordinated with True's warranty department, ordered the parts, and returned once they arrived. Blake again accommodated my schedule so I could be on-site when Chris came back. Chris installed the new part, cycled the unit multiple times to confirm the repair, and left everything working correctly. Blake also mentioned they service other equipment (including popcorn machines), which is helpful to know for the future. What impressed me most was the combination of strong technical skill and clear communication. Chris uses a solid Condition Cause Correction Confirm approach and takes the time to explain what he's doing. As someone with a technical background, I appreciated that. It's rare to find a technician who is both highly competent and excellent with customers. I would not hesitate to call Maverick Services again and I highly recommend them, especially Chris. Great company, great people.

When I was a kid, my mom would offer up $20 to the salesperson who could find a pair of shoes that fit, didn't hurt my feet, and that I liked. So when I got new orthotic insoles recently, I was prepared for more of the same. I decided to give Heel to Toe a try because I saw that they also do orthotics, so I figured if anyone could help, it would be these folks. They did not disappoint! While I didn't find anything in the store that day, the staff was so incredibly helpful I knew I had to buy from them somehow. They took the time to measure my feet (turns out they're wider than I thought), talk to me about my issues and what I wanted, look in the back for overlooked shoes, and then finally brought me manufacturer catalogues so I could order them. They knew which shoes would be likely to work and which wouldn't, which saved me a ton of time and frustration. I ended up buying two pairs of boots, and they both still look and feel amazing.
