Heard so much about how great their breakfast is. So went off my diet for a "great" breakfast. Sat at the counter, was waited on quickly. Ordered the standard, 2 eggs over easy, home fries, sausage and rye toast. Food came fast. That's were anything good I have to say ends! Eggs were runny and under cooked, home fries were way under cooked. Some were actually COLD! The toast, well it was more like just bread, hardly toasted at all. Sausage was ok, it's the only thing I ate entirely. Typically I clean my plate. I don't think I've ever left so much uneaten food on my plate, especially breakfast! I'm very loyal to my breakfast spots, but I'm always willing to expand my places. Always go to family owned, mom and pop sort of places whenever possible. You missed out on a possible customer for life. I will NOT be returning to Duncan's. There are just too many places out there to settle for an absolutely horrible meal. I know I'm just one person. But these days, can anyplace afford not to put their best foot (or in this case, food) forward? I think not. read more

Lots of cars so we gave it a try. The menu looked reasonably priced ...at first. Ordered 2 burgers. They are razor thin and tasted like they were sitting on a warm counter all morning. I should politely have sent it back. The friescare enormous but have no flavor. When I got the bill they charge for all the little extras so it was almost $20 for two little hamburgers and fries and 2 sodas full of ice. Next time will drive through Burger King. read more

Had lunch here. Food was okay, although the French fries were poor. It is obvious that the place gets lots of customers, so it has a following. But, the place itself is seriously rough looking and is far from appetizing. You get the sense that it is just seriously old and dirty and has had no reinvestment or attempt at cleaning it and making it appealing. The staff come across similarly. Can't imagine going back but something is bringing people in. read more

Duncan's makes the BEST pancakes I have EVER had. They are huge and fluffy and perfectly golden brown, the chocolate chip ones are my favorite. This place is a perfect greasy spoon diner with all the heart and flavor that comes with it. The service is great, the bread is home made, the eggs are always done just right. So cheap for the amount of food you get! I always leave this place very satisfied and incredibly full. Their eggs, toast, bacon, milkshakes, HOME FRIES (the best) ect. hit the spot especially if your hungover. Make sure to bring cash because they are cash only (there is an ATM on the premises). Good omelettes and toast, ( the pieces not burned) but come on, how hard is it to actually cook the home fries? A pile of boiled potatoes sans skins, cut up with charred, black edges is not the way to do it, especially since they charge extra for them. If they'd add onions and cook until brown these could match the quality of the eggs and toast. Coffee, like many diners was weak and tasteless. This place has a lot going for it, but falls down in some areas. Fortunately, if they are interested in improving, serving fresh ground coffee in decent-sized mugs and improving the potatoes is not very hard. This place saved my road trip and possibly my marriage. We were tired, cranky, and worried about making it to our campsite in time for dinner when we decided to stop somewhere to eat. Duncan's was everything we could have hoped for. The atmosphere was homey, the pot roast special was awesome and incredibly filling, and the grilled muffins were just perfect. Everything tasted fresh and home-cooked. I can only imagine how good the pie would have been if we'd had room left over. Do yourself a favor and stop in if you're ever passing through. read more

This by far has to be the worst meal I have ever eaten! I took my family to Duncan's to eat dinner a few years ago and it was blah at best. So silly me I see the parking lot FULL every morning and decide hey why not give it another chance because how could the mess up breakfast. Well here's how. Runny eggs, French toast that was still wet and raw in the middle, cinnamon roll with raisins in it (Seriously who puts raisins in a cinnamon roll?), dirty or rusted silverware and a sticky table. Plus the waitress was eating food at the register between serving food. If I could give this place zero stars I would do so. read more

Yelpers really didn't experience Duncans. It has a great breakfast but so much more than that. You really need to go and experience a place more than once to do a fair review. Eggs Benedict at Duncans....come on .. who were these crazy yelpers????? Duncans has wonderful eggs , homemade muffins and bread ( toast) . Great pancakes and all the traditional breakfast foods. Even better in my opinion is their chocolate cake made by John which is to die for, raspberry pie, strawberry shortcake and bread pudding and so much more. Also love their stuffed peppers, meat loaf, pot roast, turkey dinners and hot turkey sandwiches and always look forward to their chowder and fish specials on Fridays. Stopped here for dinner twice recently while traveling, first time on a whim. Although the name is "Dairy Bar", it's actually a restaurant. Their dinner menu is only half a dozen entrees, but they're basic, "home" cooked, and plentiful. I had the turkey and pork loin dinners, which are big plates for about $10. I also took home one of their 8" pies for $7.75 and it was very well made and luscious. No pretension here, no frills (the menu includes local ads), but excellent diner food for a very fair price. read more

I'm pretty sure everything here is all original from the tables, chairs, flooring and waitresses. For a place that is seriously old its not bad. The prices are reasonable the food is good. The waitresses are as friendly as they old. It doesnt look like much but it's worth having breakfast here. Its your typical small town diner. read more

Had breakfast there this morning with a buddy, based on a number of people telling us to go there instead of the competitor that's located nearly across the street (I've been there before and was honestly quite happy with my breakfast). My opinion is that you almost have to try to screw up breakfast. It's generally fast and easy. Duncan's did OK with the food (although my omelette was a bit burned and it was normal-sized, not "huge" like other reviewers claim). Rye toast slices were pretty thin, looked like packaged store-bought rye bread, not homemade like others have claimed about the bread. Where they failed, though, in my opinion was in the service. Courteous and quick, yes, but they use the smallest cups for coffee I've ever had in a diner, and the waitress was nowhere to be found with refills. I could have had a larger cup of coffee for less $ at SBUX. Newsflash, waitstaff - most people who order coffee with breakfast in the morning want it good, hot, and keep it coming!!! Sorry to interrupt your texting. So they lost a star just for that. Overall, a decent breakfast for a decent price, *nothing* to write home about, and I truly don't know why some people are raving about the place. I went there years ago with my kids and my dad. The Duncan ladies were in charge and cooked us a fantastic meal, on Thanksgiving. I'm new to the area and was looking for a local diner experience for Sunday breakfast. Duncan's Dairy Bar was just what I was looking for. Service was quick, coffee was hot, strong, and plentiful, and the food was great. We were able to get a table right away, but some people did have to wait for a few minutes for something to open up. What's not to like? The service is very efficient. Endless refills of coffee in big mugs. Huge portions - I thought I was a contestant on Man vs. Food. Everything in this diner is homemade....from the French Toast to the Corned Beef Hash to the breakfast sausage. The Corned Beef Hash is the best I've ever eaten....not fatty, with the right amount of potatoes and onion mixed in. The home fries were delicious, cooked, and full of flavor. read more

The food gets 5 stars...the slow service and never seeing a waitress after you get your food is more annoying. Coffee cups stay empty until you get up and practically shout for them, then it seems to be a bother..I hope the owners read this and fix the problem. We will be back...one more time. read more

I got breakfast at Duncans today and would never eat there again. It is very expensive and does not taste good. Also the waitress was mean to us. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette and they brought me a cheese omelette with no ham and so much cheese on it I had to eat around the cheese. I told her I ordered ham and cheese and she said "No you didnt", so i showed her on the ticket that she even wrote down ham. By the end of the omelette there was a huge pile of just cheese leftover. The homefries dont come with the breakfast like they do at other diners, they cost $2.50 extra. The homefries were so undercooked they were literally sitting in a puddle of water on the plate. For me and my gf to each get an omelette with homefries the order came to over $27. We could have went to Red Lobster and got 2, 4 course feasts and it would have only been $32. read more
