So this place is very, very clean with all new equipment and totally the opposite of what was in there before. Which is great. It is a limited menu with really really good prices. I ordered the bacon omelette with homemade fries and rye toast. The omelette was cooked perfect lacked a little bit of seasoning as did the home fries. The rye toast was a little under toasted, but it was still fine. Suggestion.... use a little Lawry's seasoned salt on everything!!! :) read more

Can we PLEASE give this 6 stars?? What a gem! We stumbled onto Hometown Diner while in New York on a weekend camping trip. The food was absolutely fabulous, generous portions, great prices. The restaurant is spotless with beautiful bouquets of flowers on the tables. Super friendly staff. Thank goodness we found this little place on Memorial Day-nobody was open. It was almost 2:00 (when they close) but we were welcomed with open arms by a very sweet server. Great prices btw. Hidden out in the middle of the upstate NY burbs, we found it through Yelp, and now here we are, back on Yelp saying "YES, future seekers of inexpensive brunch, come here!" The meal was priced right, there was enough variety for our party of five very different eaters, and everything we tried was great! I got an omelette and a salad (thanks to them for being flexible with me not wanting carbs!) My fiancé got a giant breakfast of pancakes, sausage, eggs. And a bagel. My dad got this delicious breakfast burrito that was stuffed fat with eggs, meat and hash browns! My brother got another big breakfast - no complaints about a lack of food at our table! And my mom got this awesome roast beef melt that was soooo yummy - we all tried a bite! Service was efficient and quick. We always got a fill up on coffee and water. Seven of us rolled into HD Saturday morning after a long night. I apologized to the waitress ahead of time for having to deal with us (hung over and thinking slow.) We were extremely nice but our waitress seamed agitated at our existence. I ordered an apple juice- never got it. My French toast was delicious. My bacon, ordered extra crispy was just as I asked. All my friends, their portions were large, fair pricing and everything looked great. I would eat here again but hope for another waitress. read more

We stopped by this little gem while passing through on our way to Vermont. We had the breakfast wraps, one with ham and the other with bacon. Breakfast sandwiches and tater tots for the kiddos. I can't forget to mention the amazingly delicious and fresh honey buns!!! All of the food was fresh and excellent. Even better, our carry out order was ready in less than 10 minutes!! Do not eat here! Food is not prepared in clean environment, hash is canned, soup is frozen from bag, sausage gravy from a can. Hollondaise is from a powder mix along with pancake mix, potatoes are cut on unclean surfaces. Owner is rude and talks about customers behind their back. Been going here for years. Was excited to go for Father's Day. Sat immediately when we got there at 10:30; however the waitress had a very hard time hearing us speak our order. She repeatedly asked us what our order was again. We waited over an hour and half for our food. I must have had five cups of coffee. Our young children were hungry and restless. When our food finally came my food was not correct at all. I waited another ten minutes while my family ate. When I went up to pay I was asked "how was everything?" I responded "it took way too long for food and my order was wrong." The response was "it is Father's Day and we are busy and we are trying really hard" I refused to leave a tip after that comment. My feelings on "try" is it's a bad word and washer machines "try" really hard but they still finish on time. It's very sad how the day started. Luckily Kay's Pizza will get it right tonight. We are new to WSL and have come here twice with our kids for breakfast. Both times have been great. Quality of food is good for the price, kid friendly and very friendly staff and my favorite part is they actually bring you the bill! This place, or I should say location, has been in different hands for many years in the glitzy and glamorous 43 strip mall. I will say that it has the fastest service I've ever encountered (chef-wise). Food is very good (breakfast/brunch fare is all I've ever had, although I've never been there for lunch). This is your typical plastic menu, daily specials, booths and small tables local dining breakfast place, with service and a smile. I must say I'm a fan. Not much else to say. Stopped in for the first time on a weekday morning for a late breakfast. The restaurant is clean, well lit and inviting. We were greeted warmly by staff and were served immediately.
