Perfect place to have a holiday Dinner
    Sandra S.

The food and the ambiance was perfect. The meals, the staff was everything I didn't know I needed. We had a three course meal. Everything was above standard and the hospitality was through the roof. I will be back and I will bring more friends. I can tell when someone puts their heart and soul into a place and this place needs to be on the list for everyone in 2026

We did the tasting menu with the wine paring and it was a great experience! The service was excellent and very friendly. Ambiance was cozy and felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant when there were other customers present. 4 of the 5 courses were a 10/10. The only course that wasn't was the kangaroo because we were not expecting it and it was a new food for us. It was still delicious and we would give it a 8/10 only because the kangaroo meat itself was a bit gamey and not something we would go out of our way to order. The dish itself was prepared to perfection. We will be back to try some more menu items for sure!

My new favorite place in the Capital Region! I am in the Albany area only a few times a year, but am always on the lookout for places that I can call my "third place." There are so many places that treat you like you will never come back. There are other places that treat you like a regular after they've seen you a few times. There are a rare few places that treat you like a regular they haven't met yet. This is one of those rare places. First, I appreciate that they are welcoming to solo diners. I sat at the bar not because I had to, but because it looked like fun. The two bartenders, Anthony and Collin, were quite the dynamic duo. Anthony was training Collin, but they were very polished as a team. I didn't know until the end of the night that Collin had just started! I started with a lovely Roosevelt Room Manhattan and listened to the two of them discuss how many stirs to chill the drink. Nice. Another nice touch--the menu lights up. When I was handed the menu, I said, "Wow, hefty!" and it was because the thing was backlit. Way cool. The menu selections were great, and I wished that someone else was dining with me so I could try more! I almost went with the tasting menu, which was more value-priced than I was expecting, but there were too many other things I wanted to try. I started with the bacon-wrapped scallops and the Spanish octopus. Both were outstanding. The octopus was prepared perfectly, and both were beautifully presented. By this point, it was also time for another cocktail, and I decided to trust Anthony and Collin with bartender's choice. They quizzed me a little on flavor preferences and came up with a great companion to my meal. My main was the seared duck. This was probably the only minor stumble, in that I think the duck was a little too rare for my taste. I was expecting a medium rare, but this was very rare, making it a little too chewy. It still tasted delicious, however, and again, was nicely plated. I wasn't planning on having dessert, but by this point, I was all in. I ordered the Almond Joy on Anthony's recommendation, and it was, indeed, a joy. And just the right way to end the meal. I had a great time at The Roosevelt Room and look forward to my next trip to the Capital Region so I can come here again.

Amazing. Delicious. Top Notch. We started with the dollar oysters. (Thursdays). They were served with mignonette, lemon wedges and a cocktail sauce. Great start to the meal. Next, asked about and then opted for the 5 course chefs tasting meal. And so glad we did. Left totally stuffed with 2 1/2 entrees to take home. The food was fantastic. Fresh, delicious, well composed and balanced. Presentation was on point. The service was impeccable. The meal was perfectly paced and we were well cared for. The dessert was the best one I've had in a long time. Nice treat meal! Can't go back every week but certainly will return. A+

The food is always awesome, the short rib dumplings and the tuna rice bites are great to start your dinner or even sit at the bar and pick at them, the signature drinks get the wife excited to try them all, for dinner I got the rack of lamb, the wife got the kangaroo we loved them both and they were cooked perfectly. The service there is always great too, the staff is very quick with it and ensure your glass is filled but also letting you enjoy your conversations with company. The vibe of the Rosevelt room is classy but affordable great dinner dates, will definitely be going back. Great for special occasions, anniversaries, and also just to have some great cocktails at the bar on the weekend.

Again The Roosevelt Room hits a high note with their excellent service and delicious food. Tonight I tried the Kangaroo. Very delicious and it did not disappoint. I never had kangaroo before and I was happy with my dinner. It was my mother's birthday and they gave us some free vanilla ice cream too. It was a quiet Monday night at The Roosevelt Room and the Ambiance was perfect. Not too busy and I like it that way.

Business dinner with a long time client who love to have a casual drink and dinner at the bar. I called ahead and asked to reserve two seats at the bar, just in case. We had great cocktails and conversation in a greatly relaxed atmosphere but surrounded by first class art and food. We started with this great Southwest salad and Caesar salad. Absolutely delicious! Next we both had the Kangaroo Au Poivre! Wow! The flavor was unmatched. So Tender you could cut it with a fork. Last we split the Blackberry cheese cake. I just can't say enough about The Rosevelt Room! Take yourself some place and spoil yourself a little! The positive reviews keep coming in from this amazing restaurant everywhere I look! Everyone I see! It's f you haven't tried it you really should!!! Thank you Michael for another great evening!

While not where I'd think a fine dining spot would pop up, The Roosevelt Room lives up to its group ownership's reputation and its own name. We were welcomed and taken care of by polished, attentive team members who all seem to truly enjoy being there. The food, while upscale, was not the least bit pretentious. Portions are good and each dish is clearly thought out as part of an experience. Drink menu is fantastic. We had one little glitch with one of our drinks and it was taken care of without hesitation (the daiquiri was great!). Got a great recommendation for pairing wine with the kangaroo too ;) I think they deserve a 5!

The Roosevelt Room quickly became the most talked about fine dining restaurants in the area, and now I see why. Chef Noah Frese is serving up serious creativity on every plate coming out of the kitchen. The space is stunning, small and intimate. I love the mid-century modern style decor and all the gem tones. It's gorgeous. The location is super accessible in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Walking in, you are greeted by a large team of servers and honestly, they completely nailed fine dining service for me. We were constantly being attended to, the most accommodating friendly service I've had locally. The staff was extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful when ordering. Glasses were always full, place settings were swapped out at every course, tables wiped down, and every time my napkin fell off my lap, it was replaced with a fresh one. Incredible. The cocktail menu was great, and the full bar allows you to order whatever you desire. The wine list was reasonable with 4 bottles of red under $50, which isn't bad for fine dining. We enjoyed several cocktails, all hitting the mark. My favorite was the Pepperista, a savory pepper cocktail garnished with cheese. Delightful. We came to try a spread of appetizers, which was honestly a great way to try a ton of different plates and share everything. We ordered 6 appetizers, and the chef graciously complimented 2 additional appetizers to our surprise. I will caveat that Noah had recognized me, so I am not sure that this is standard practice. After placing our orders, we received an Amuse Bouche of cucumber gazpacho. Light, bright and a beautiful start. Following this, a warm loaf of fresh bread and butter was given to us while we wait for our first round of apps. The first apps we were served were the specials for the night. Surf and turf bites and the crispy rice. The surf and turf bites sent me to a different galaxy. I was blown away by the tiny flavor bomb of brioche, lobster, filet and foie gras. My favorite bite of the night and we recommended it gets on the menu ASAP. The crispy rice was topped with blue fin tartar and it was an amazing texture contrast. I was looking for a little bit extra spicy Mayo but the dish was great as is. Our chefs complimented addition to this round was the braised beef potstickers. The meat was super tender and it was a great fusion of flavors. I loved the mushroom dashi and scooped it up with a spoon. The second round of apps was the epitome of indulgent and unctuous. We ordered the wagyu bikini sandwich and the bone marrow. The wagyu was sandwiched between some super buttery crispy bread with some cheese on top of a bed of garlic aioli. This dish was delicious, heavy and buttery. I did desire a little bit of contrast to cut the fat, but that may be because the bone marrow dish was equally heavy and fatty. The buttery brioche with the bone marrow was a fat bomb that coated your palate, but also a delicious bite. I've never been served such a generous portion of bone marrow. The bones were thicc and there was plenty of unctuous bone marrow for sharing. The fattiness was cut with some apricot jam spread on top of the bone. It was a nice combo of flavors. The chef complimented a Spanish chopped salad this round, which was needed. The salad provided a light and bright contrast to the heavy dishes were were served. The salad was savory and sweet, with an excellent house made ranch and crispy onion. Before our last round we requested an intermission. To our surprise, every dish was plentiful and filling up to this point. We could have stopped here but, never give up. We were finally greeted with our caviar cones and the octopus. The caviar cones were a tobiko caviar with crème fraiche served in a rice cone. Tobiko is commonly used in sushi and doesn't have that kick of fishiness I love in caviar, so for me it was a little underwhelming, but it was still a fantastic bite and my sister loved it. The octopus was perfectly cooked, topped with an olive tapenade and garnished with almond butter and fritters. I am not a huge fan of olives but I love to challenge my palate. A bite of everything combined was a flavor explosion, but maybe not our favorite plate of the night. We were stuffed, blown away and satisfied at this point, but we had to have a bite of dessert. We opted to order the classic crème brûlée. It was classically prepared, perfectly done and an amazing end to dinner. Fine dining isn't for everyone, but it sure is for me. I loved this experience and I feel like ordering so many apps really told the chefs story. I would highly recommend checking this place out, even if only for apps as I did. For 6 appetizers, 7 cocktails and a dessert, our bill was $280 before tax. I felt it was reasonable for the experience and quality served. We were here over two hours and had an incredible time. Amazing.

Make sure you follow the street numbers, because the doorway to the west says "Ilium" above it, but the tap room is next door. The interior is very inviting, with many comfortable bar stools and seats on the first level, and a lounge upstairs which will seat about 20 people with an assortment of tables and lounge chairs. We were able to chat with the owner/brewer, Mike, for quite a while, he's very outgoing and great for chat. There will be about a dozen pours available on tap, with approximately half of them being their own brews, and the other half being a combination of beers from neighboring breweries, hard seltzers, and ciders. Pours will change about every 2 weeks. There is also a short homemade cocktail list and a reasonable amount of liquors available to make good, basic, cocktails. They will let you sample anything on tap prior to ordering it. I don't know if flights were available, we didn't ask and didn't find out if short pours were available. As someone who likes some carbs and salt as I'm drinking, I really appreciated the warm mid-sized complimentary pretzel that came with each beer. I think that's what brought many women there. But on this evening we ordered Guinness and pretzels which were very good. Between the seating, lighting and music, it's a comfortable place. As a pre-diabetic, I wish there were more food offerings with protein. That's my only criticism. I know they have really good pizza because I sampled some at a Yelp event. Adding real protein to the menu would help to slow the absorption of alcohol so that customers could stay longer. As for me, it would keep my carbs from spiking especially if I have their yummy cocktails.

Yes, you can make reservations which is what we did to ensure we would have a table on Friday night. It wasn't necessary but with a larger crowd it is a must if you are expecting to get seated otherwise you may just have to rely on luck. We had a variety of eaters in our group but Savoy was able to accommodate all. Appetizers. Soups, salads, burgers, and even hotdogs most menu items can be customized to be made vegan. This often means omitting the cheese. And here is where I think this should have been a five star experience but they lost me on this... burgers can substitute a Beyond patty for an additional $3, infact, the only burger on the menu made entirely vegan is the "Far Beyond Lark" with fries which was price at $24. Literally the most expensive burger on the menu. It's 2026, the cost of Beyond or Impossible meat is almost the same as beef. Why are vegans still being penalized to pay a higher price when dining out? If anything make the vegan burger the same price as the others and add a $1 substitution fee to make any of the others vegan with vegan cheese, Beyond burger patty, and vegan mayonnaise. Just a thought. All the burgers come on a lovely toasted brioche bun but because it contains egg, the vegan substitute is a sad gluten free bun of dispare and remorse. The cauliflower wings were delicious, I got Nashville Hot but something in them almost gave me Indian food vibes like a curry of some kind? The fries are the absolute best, I love a basket of good hand cut French fries. The guys at the table who ordered their burgers enjoyed them, although they needed extra napkins but that's not always a bad thing. Overall, great experience! I would love to go back. First, your Brunch menu and food are excellent, when we finally got our food - after roughly an hour of waiting - I was instantly reminded of why Dove and Deer is great - bold flavors, excellent preparation, gorgeous plates all in a city that desperately needs it. Second, I really felt bad for the 3 people responsible for running an entire restaurant on a Sunday (two waiters and one person in the kitchen). They did their absolute best, were so kind and apologetic, but obviously completely stressed out and frazzled. Tables got up and left after waiting for someone to get back to them - and we almost did too. It's unfair to restaurant staff to put the burden of running an entire place on them. I get if someone called off and you're short staffed 1 or 2 people, but did everyone call off? Besides 3 people? Come on. You have a real opportunity to be a go to brunch destination, my advice is to staff appropriately and give it a real go or risk customers not getting to experience the greatness that is your food - and taking their dollars to someplace far more mediocre. The only reason this isn't a 2 star or 1 star review is because of how hard your staff tried, and how good your food is (when it finally shows up).

And the interior was beautiful. Hard to believe o was in South Troy lol. Not noisy at all - very easy to carry on a conversation. The hangover cake is to die for - wow! Highly recommend!

I was excited to try this new restaurant in town, but was quite disappointed with our experience…read more The interior is beautifully designed with lots of seating, a full bar, and an open pizza oven area. Naturally it seemed like the perfect place for dinner! We decided to split a traditional cheese pizza and the chicken parm which turned out to be the perfect amount of food for the both of us - and some leftover. The pizza was great! Thick crust, classic marinara, and a generous amount of mozzarella. The chicken parm on the other hand was a disappointment. The chicken itself was too thick and dry, although a good portion size. The pasta was a complete miss. Flavorless, bland, and undercooked. The dish was also topped with cilantro which I thought was odd. For $27 and one of the more expensive items on the menu I was expecting it to be a lot more flavorful. Our service was sadly also not good. Our waitress was also a bartender so she got busier throughout the night with people at the bar. We ordered and she checked in on us once. We were waiting around awhile trying to catch her attention to get the check, but after 15mins another waitress ended up helping us out. We came on the slightly earlier side for dinner, but it was still a Friday night so by 6pm the place was packed and very loud.
