Little snacks, but the liquor was amazing. Couple of us tried the smoked old fashioned, which was amazing. My wife tried the gin cocktail which we walked away with a bottle with.

This place is a gem! The owners and staff are the best. They are hands on and in the room to ensure you have a good time! So many fun cocktails on the menu and they have "tastings" so you can try before you buy. It's very clean and modern and get cozy! It's not a sports bar which I love. It's sophisticated and classy! I love going here! Even if you go alone you'll end up with friends! For some reason, out of their hands I believe, the don't offer a food menu. Just a decent bar pizza so that makes it a great place to stop for drinks after dinner, or have their "spiked hot chocolate" for dessert. Love this place! And they often have live music!

Tasted like lime, too much and wasn't for me. But that's ok, the salmon is the best in valpo and the southwest chicken salad is fantastic! Not every meal is for everyone. The servers/bartenders we frequently see and know are Jordan, Adam and Abi. All are great at what they do and no matter how hectic things are, they are always welcoming, courteous and attentive. The drinks they serve are always consistently on point, no matter who is making them. That's a huge plus in my book. The only real negative I have about the place are the chairs at the bar. I get angular is ascetically pleasing to management, but to customers it's annoying and provides nothing but extra work. I have to move two chairs to sit down, how does that make any sense. Quit overthinking the chair alignment at the bar, I beg you. Of course it won't stop my wife and I from coming almost every week, but I truly hope one day I will walk in there and see the bar chairs straight and not angled. Anyways, if you want a place with great food, very clean, unbelievable workers and an ambiance unlike anywhere else is NWI, you will want to go here. Side note, if they could just add a steak to the menu that would make it perfect.

Maybe it was what we ordered but the hot chicken and biscuits was just ok. The breakfast burger was way over done and fell apart as soon as you picked it up. It was a mess and not in a good way. The service was good but we sat at the bar which was nice. Would try again but maybe eat first.

They have a few parking spaces in the front of the building with a larger lot in the rear. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server Michaela was very friendly and suggested a few food items for my wife which were GF. I started with the House Old Fashion and my wife had the Bee's Knees. Both were very good and cost 10.00 each. For lunch I tried their Pecan Whiskey BBQ wings. 5 wings cost 10.00. They were good size and very tasty but I didn't taste any of the Pecan Whiskey flavor. My wife had the Barbacoa Tacos which were filled with braised beef. She could only eat 2 of them so I had the third taco. Flavorful but I would have preferred more salsa or a dipping sauce. I wanted to try their Drop Dead Bourbon separately so I had a small tasting. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home. Cost was 60.00. The history of this distillery dates back to 1857 and is one of Illinois' oldest standing distillerys and was once Al Capones largest bootlegging facility during prohibition. I would love to go back and try a few more of their hand crafted cocktails and one of their signature burgers.

The building oozes historic charm going back to 1847. Our server and hostess were friendly and helpful. There is only a few spots to park in the front but a big parking lot in the back marked with a sign. It was lunchtime so we ordered wings and beef barbacoa tacos and both were very flavorful. The server suggested the tacos as they can be made gluten free. Besides the cocktails my husband asked to taste their straight bourbon called Dead Drop. He enjoyed it and bought a bottle to take home. I could feel the ghosts of bootleggers of the past haunting the place. Worth the drive to experience it.

When we walked in before the distillery tour started just looking around and seeing all of the cute neglected nostalgia, and all of the beautiful antiques and how a lot of the structure of the building was kept intact. I really appreciated everything. It is a smaller bar however that's how a lot of bars were back in the really early 1900s or even late 1800s. Going through this tour with Derek was pretty amazing. He knew his stuff and he made sure we knew the reasoning behind everything and it was just so cool to find out! I only did we get to see behind the scenes on how they make the whiskey, but we also got to see where they have all of their aging whiskeys! After that we were able to test out several different whiskeys from a three month to a one year to a two year to a three year to a four year and a bonus one was a 5 year! My boyfriend and I are definitely going to come back and we will definitely be bringing people! you have to come check this place out. The drinks are amazing. If you do not know what to get the bartender will most certainly help you out and finding what is best for the drink. I had their Retro/Metro Old-fashioned.
