I booked this hotel for an easy recovery nearby after my eye injection, and to spare my wife the drive back home in the mist of rush hour traffic. We've passed this place on numerous occasions, headed east on Sunset, shortly after exiting the 101 Fwy. And not quite the hole-in-the-wall one might expect. Its actually quite popular with out-of-towners; nothing like certain comments about "hookers and drug addicts" hanging out here. I paid $138.00 for one night, so hardly the place for a quick in and out! Cheap for Hollywood during the summer months though. Check-in was a little slow, as I waited behind a young couple in the tiny lobby area. But totally friendly clerk behind the desk. I should have requested a room upstairs though, the guests above us sounded like they were on a walkathon for about an hour, but they eventually settled down. Now the rooms are rather small, with no frills. There is a flat screen tv mounted on the wall with great cable reception and a refrigerator, but no microwave or even a coffee maker. Clean though, with a decent bed; definitely nothing plush but my back hasn't gone out yet as I write this; well after midnight. The Mrs. seems to be having no problem making zzzzzs right next to me lol. Free wifi and parking too. An okay one night respite.

First of all description wise the "popular" restaurant is still closed and nobody knows when or even if it will reopen. And I do not see any boutique motel style at all. That said I still give it four stars since it really surprised me. I booked it since it's a perfect location for what I needed to do business wise it's close to all what you wanna do and I could even walk to shopping and restaurants. There are plenty. I was here on a business trip so I didn't really cared about big rooms (they are not) or any high tech (they have not) or even design (well not much there as well). But I wanted a good shower (all amenity where brand items like kohlet tub and moen shower head) and a good bed (was really surprised by the firmness of the bed without being hard) I always travel with my own pillow but the provided pillow made a good impression. There is a mini fridge to hold some small things cold. Enough for a couple days stay. And very important it's clean and free of any weird people around. Also plenty of parking at least I always found a spot. So I was positiv surprises and would come back when I'll just need to use a bed.

Dunes Inn is the deal on Sunset and Los Angeles you didn't know you needed. This affordable Inn just off the 101 Fwy at the corner of Wilton Pl and Sunset Blvd near Target only a block down on Western and close to the Metro Redline and loads of connecting services has great management, service and rooms. The beds are very comfy, the bathrooms and setup are slightly updated and parking is super easy especially during the day and afternoon (definitely fills up fast on weekends and after 8pm). Stayed here two nights recently with a friend visiting from out of town and had a great time. We stocked up on snacks, fruit, etc via Tarjay and 7-Eleven (both within walking distances). Check-in as well as out was super easy... Even getting a few extra towels and what not were plenty smooth. Nice large flat screens mounted in ever room and plenty of closet and storage space for luggage. They have a few beverage vending machine and a small diner/cafe apart of the Dunes Inn open during the day. Dune Inn has good Wi-Fi however the Triple A signs still apart of the building are not up to date as current management does not except this discount (might change back in the future). The AC is powerful as is the water pressure for the shower. We missed out on maid service as we forgot to take the sign off the door and since they're currently hiring they're a touch short staffed and usually only able to provide cleaning during the daytime/afternoon before 3... But I know this will change with time. Surprisingly a great stay in the best way!

    Light pouring in at 6am

Yeah, it's a simple motel. I probably would have given it 4 stars upon walking into the room. But then I got back at night and noticed there is NO LAMPS in the room. I had to use the ceiling lights with their cold lightbulbs. The ambience is 0/10. Then in the morning light pours in through the blinds at 6am and there's no way to darken the room. And then--of course--no coffee maker in the room either. I wish I had splurged a bit more for a better place.

I enjoyed my stay here. Quiet laid back chilax place. Check inn was smooth. Motel is next to new Target store on sunset blvd. My room came equipped with comfy bed, flat screen TV, mini refrigerator, toiletries similar to the ones at AC Marriott South Bay, cushioned seats, clothing hangars. WiFi connection was also good! Only downsides with this motel is $100 room deposit required at check in. Rooms smell of tobacco. No microwave in the room, no coffee maker, no iron and ironing board in the room. I would definitely come back again!

I wasn't sure about staying here due to the location but was pleasantly surprised. The room was a bit small very clean. AC worked great! Sorry I didn't take pics after the maid service but the room was impeccable. Management was nice. We checked out and about an hour later realized my daughter left her wallet in her room. No worries they had it and everything was fine. Honest and clean. I recommend this place for everyone.

They offered Byredo Mojave ghost and it smelled amazing! The room is gorgeous with a view of the Hollywood hills and the Walt Disney museum. The amenities that come with the room is amazing; the dry sauna was great, they have a relaxation room as well and we loved the tea apothecary as well. I just wish they have tea cups in the rooms! Had to call room service to bring it. The room service and the pool size service were amazing! However. The San laurel dining service is good but it can be better. The hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious with thoughtful details. I was admiring all the beautiful marble from the floors to walls to coffee tables. The floor to ceiling windows gives the hotel an open, airy, serene feel too. Our room felt so thoughtfully designed with a spacious bathroom, a little table, and an unbelievable shower with the best shower pressure and three different settings including a rain shower. Our beds weren't the biggest (full sized not Queen), but we all still slept so well with the plush coziness of it all. The on-site restaurant (San Laurel by Jose Andres) and bar (The Beaudry) were both phenomenal with excellent food, drinks, and service. The gym has great equipment and is kept super clean and organized - they have peloton, peloton rowers, plenty of treadmills, and a decent weight area. They have bottled boxed water, fruit, and a water refill station there as well as complimentary disposable headphones too. The Conrad is a great option for the DTLA area and we can't wait to come back!

How cool is that? Feedback: -Provide additional waste receptacles in the lobby and guest rooms; currently, there is only one in the bathroom. -Consider switching to key cards instead of manual keys for added convenience. Helpful Info: -Complimentary Breakfast: The website description is misleading--breakfast is only "complimentary" if you pay a $30 service fee, which is actually tied to internet access. Worth paying the service fee if you need reliable internet. We had requested adjoining rooms which was so convenient with our two girls. Our rooms were spacious, and clean and perfect. The lobby always had infused water for everyone, and some kind of treat. In the mornings, there was fresh ( surprisingly amazing) coffee and pastries. Another day, we came down and found fresh watermelon juice, and bruschetta with tomato and cheese. Another day, there were petit fours for us. A HUGE perk of staying there is the car service. They will drive you anywhere from the hotel within a three mile radius and you can call them to pick you up and bring you back as well. We used this s much and it really saved us alot of money, and we felt lots safer in the company of their wonderful drivers instead of random Uber drivers or walking around in an unknown city. But I also needed my cell phone and wanted to keep it charged. I had to unplug the lamp to use the power supply. There is another plug on the nightstand but that would have meant leaving the phone on the other side of the room and I needed the phone while I was working. But because I had to unplug the lamp, I had to work in the dark (it was evening). I can't remember the last time I was in a hotel room that didn't have USB ports so you could charge your phone at the desk and at the nightstand. I could have called the desk and I'm sure they would have given me another room but I was all settled in. Movies; this is the first time I have been in a hotel of this caliber where you had to pay for movies. Certainly I have been in other hotels where you pay for "some" movies, but not all. Usually there is free Showtime or HBO. No, I didn't travel to watch a movie, but sometimes it's nice when winding down in the evening or to have on in the background when working. They did offer some recent movies and even some that I think are still in theaters. Of course I would expect to pay; but most other top named hotels I would be able to watch movies for free. So if you want to visit the Magic Castle for dinner and a magic show book it through the Magic Castle Hotel And make it an overnight experience, the shows run late and it beats driving home after. Nicole and the staff will take great care of you and you can also visit Yashimiro and other local spots in Hollywood. Bravissimo Magic Castle and Hotel. We will be back!
