This review is for Julia Dinh. I was strongly suggested by my psychiatrist to visit a PCP to get my ADHD medication prescribed since I already have my diagnosis papers ready. I wouldn't be seeing my psychiatrist for another month or so, so I decided to try it out just so I can get a head start on my meds. Let me just preface this by saying I would have been totally ok and understanding if I was told that Julia couldn't prescribe me my medication in the beginning. But instead I was confused, felt judged and invalidated the whole time I was there. I handed Julia my ADHD diagnosis from 2+ years ago from a different doctor when I was living in LA. I explain to her my situation and that I was recommended (from my own psychiatrist) to go to a PCP while waiting for my psychiatrist's appointment just cause it's faster. And if it works out, I can just stick with my PCP instead of working with my current psychiatrist (also said by my psych and the psych clinic). She states that it's in their (the clinic?) policy that they can't prescribed controlled substances. I was disappointed to hear that but it is what it is. But then she says something along the lines of "I'll prescribe you a no refill for 30 days only. This is only temporary until your next appointment with your psychiatrist." I was super grateful to hear that and was so happy at how considerate Julia was. She also asked for a lot of information regarding my psychiatrist and the clinic that I go to which I happily obliged and shared all that info. Then she goes out to check and verify something, I wasn't sure what because she didn't mention it specifically. After a bit she comes back and mentions that I haven't been taking my ADHD medication since May 2022. And I said that yes, there was a shortage in LA for months and I gave up searching for a pharmacy that had it and also I had to move back to San Jose, so I couldn't get a prescription at all during that whole time. I have only seen my new psychiatrist recently and was prescribed a different medication for the time being because I didn't have my ADHD diagnosis papers ready at the time. Julia then says she won't be prescribing me my ADHD medication anymore because I've been without my meds for a year already and also I'm already on the newer medication by my psychiatrist and that she says I should be good until my next appointment with my psychiatrist. Welp. If it's their policy to not be able to prescribe a certain medication, then that's ok with me. Just start with that next time and end it there. But if you're denying my medication just because I've been without it for a year and you think I'll be good until my next appointment with my psych? Then that's just unprofessional. I didn't choose to go a whole year without my medication and without my medication I am unable to do many basic life things like work, eat, go outside, enjoy hobbies, clean, errands etc. I explain to Julia that the newer medication is not working at all, that's why I need my old prescription (even if temporary by PCP) but she just told me to wait until my psych appointment. I felt judged for asking for medication that I've been taking for 2 years and I felt like Julia did not believe my ADHD diagnosis even though it was literally in her hands. She was saying that my psychiatrist prescribed me the newer medication, so I should just take it and wait until my next appointment with them. And I kept explaining to her that the newer medication was just temporary (said by my psych) until I got my ADHD diagnosis papers for my psychiatrist (which I have now but I still have to wait for the appointment) but also at the same time my psych also suggested I go to a PCP also to get my older prescription which is why I'm here. A simple "no, sorry I can't prescribe your medication here even with your official medical records" would have sufficed. I'm not sure what I said or did wrong for Julia to change her mind about prescribing my no refill 30 day prescription. Please don't me make explain and reiterate details and information if the answer was going to be no anyway. Also I have been seeing mental health specialists for years, so I know and have been given the whole spiel on certain ADHD medications. Please don't treat certain patients like they're totally new on a certain subject when it's obvious they're being treated and is also knowledgeable on their own disorder and medications based on the length of their medical history. I understand Julia is a PCP and not a psych/mental health doctor, but many general doctors and PCPs can and will prescribe ADHD/mental health medications with an official diagnosis or evaluation. But this whole thing could have been handled way better and way more professional by her. read more

The call always goes thru the voicemail and whenever I call their office hours no one picks up. Why is it so hard to make an appointment with them? Whenever I talk to their staff they make it sound they don't like what they're doing nor assist patients, so quit and find a job elsewhere! Is it just me or does anyone else ask the staff questions then they'll say "oh I don't know..." etc, then when you call weeks later for a checkup, all they say is "uh-huh, uh-huh", "mhmm", "okay, yeah yeah" what the heck? I get it, limited English but at least know and like what you're doing. I feel like their staff didn't get proper training, honestly. Oh yeah, it would've been nice to get a phone call from them to let me know I didn't have to waste my time going to their clinic as the doctor wouldn't see me in person, that she'd call me during my appointment with her... I ended up staying outside their clinic and I walked since the location wasn't as far. But you know, it would've been really nice! I was a patient of Stephanie Le, who works in the same office. She seems fine although I've only seen her twice. The problem with this office is their staff. Horrible! I had two prescriptions that needed to be renewed. I expected my mail order pharmacy to contact them for the renewal. They did. THREE TIMES, but go no response from the office. So, my meds began to run out. When I called the office, they said that before they renewed the prescriptions, I had to make an appointment to come in. It sure would've been nice to have received a call about that a month earlier. Instead, they let my meds run out to the point when I had to call the pharmacy and learn that they were still waiting for the doctor's office before they could send them out. I tried to explain this to the doctor's office staff, but the woman I spoke with raised her voice and made it seem like they were not at fault. VERY poor customer service. I am NOT going back there. As much trouble as it may be to find another doctor, it will surely be worth it to avoid this horrible office staff. (Even their "hold music" is annoying!) I went to her a few years ago and disliked her because she had never really resolved any of my problems. I found a better doctor, but since he was on vacation for two weeks and I needed a doctor right away, I decided to give her another shot. What a waste of time money. Pros: Her staff is very friendly and she will always be able to squeeze you in for an appointment the same day if you call in the morning. Cons: She's impatient and uninformative. Sometimes I wonder if she really knows what she's doing or if she's guessing because all my issues never really go away despite her perscriptions. That's why I left her for another doctor. She never goes into detail during her explanation. When she scribbles out a perscription, I have to ask her what it is and why I need it. I have to ask her what might have caused my illness and how to prevent it. I have to ask her why she thinks it's this virus and not some other one. I have to PRY all the information out of her. One time, I told her I thought I was having problems with my digestive system and she told me to eat more fiber and drink prune juice. Well, of course I tried that before going to see a doctor! I thought I had a real problem like IBS and still do! She always feels like she's in a hurry. She heads towards the door while I'm still asking questions! In my head, I was thinking, "Hey, wait a minute! I'm not done yet!" Her rush made me forget to ask a few questions about other health issues I was concerned about. For pap smears and regular physical check ups, I think she's fine. But if you have more than a common cold and need a medical diagnosis, she's horrible. I'm never going to her again. read more

I've been going to her periodically since I was young due to my parents preferring a Vietnamese speaking Caretaker. As I have grown older I noticed what an extremely foul Caregiver Dr. Dung was. She doesn't really solve problems nor does she take the time to actually hear your symptoms to help you. All that occurs during your session is that she barely listens to your symptoms, blames it on a cold or allergies and whisks you away with a prescription that you do not need. Not only that, her staff is extremely rude, pays favorite with patients, and speaks condescendingly towards the patients that have questions or need assistance. When I needed my blood test results for school they ignored me and kept brushing me off even though I called the Blood Center and they assured me that my results were in. When I first came here, I had to make an appointment in person because these idiots don't call back after you leave a couple of voicemail and they barely answer phone calls or get back to you. If I ever made an appointment, it takes days or weeks. Couple months ago, I have asthma and I came in to see the doctor and have them prescribe me my inhaler and refill on my medicine for my nebulizer but nope, I couldn't get any. I had to go to the hospital because my asthma got worst. Today (3/22/16), I went to my pharmacy to get a refill on my inhaler but they told me I had none. They called to my doctor and they were "busy" so I went over there and told them. Same shit, "the doctor is busy, come back later" Like are you kidding? All I need is a paper for my refill on my inhaler.. I'm already there. Like last month, they only refill me for one month? I need more than one refill on my inhaler. I cannot STRESS how utterly horrible this place is. I had some tests done at Quest Diagnostics and I asked them when the results would be processed. They said 2 - 3 days (for the particular test I did). I've requested numerous times after a 5 day time period (just in case that it takes a little longer or it operates on business days). It's been over two weeks and Doctor Phan still hasn't filled out the immunization record. I'm absolutely LIVID. This could cause me to lose the job position that I had reserved for a while because of this negligence. She also misdiagnosed a cyst for a pimple -- I don't even know how that can even happen. Even a regular person can properly identify acne. I am truly appalled at this lack of professionalism and lack of care for patients. I understand that after a while, people can get burnt out. That's normal. But being consistently bad over the course of several years? I cannot fathom that. If I had the right circumstances, I would go to another physician in a heartbeat. The usual receptionist is also very condescending and rude, having the audacity to gossip and laugh at my friend, who has mental retardation. It's one thing to do it behind someone's back, but doing it in FRONT of him? Absolutely repulsive. Making appointments are tedious with her because you HAVE to tell her what you're sick with. If she deems it bad enough to see a doc, then she will give you the appointment. Awful. If you had to go here, PLEASE GO SEE DR. STEPHANIE LE. If I can also give this place along with the pharmacy (Tully Medical Pharmacy) next to it 0 stars I would. I was injected the wrong vaccine and wasn't made aware of it. I came back 3 months later and they said I never got that injection. They work with the pharmacy next door. They kept saying they called me, but I said I didn't want to come it. When I usually don't pick up a number I don't recognize and I have the message they left and they only said that I needed to come back in for bloodwork. I'm asking what I've been injected with and a record of it and they're refusing to give it to me. Very unprofessional. I went here since I was born and I never been so unhappy with this place. Appointments are booked out for a couple weeks, ans even if you had an appointment it took me almost 2 hours to be seen.. I will be filing for malpractice for what they done. Every time I go to a doctor I always felt rushed and they didn't really care, but I felt really comfortable to tell her how I was feeling and my symptoms. The front desk is great. However, the doctor is not. I agree with the past 2 reviews on here. She does not take her time to help you. She only scribbles down her notes as you answer her blank questions (Why are you here? How are you feeling?) and then she gives you a prescription and wa-la. You are cured! My visits would last about 5 minutes. I was better off googling my symptoms and remedies than going to her. There was actually a time where I left her office crying because I felt as though I was not helped and cared for the way I should be cared for by ANY doctor. I had a disease that need to to be followed up frequently, but she only gave me the description based on my blood test result that was done more than 5 months. After 5 months, I called in to ask to see her since I am feeling not well with recent dose of my medicine and I need her recommendation to see a specialist. But she denied to see me and also denied to prefer me to specialist no matter what I explained to her about my health condition.
