Made an account just to leave a review here. This store has improved DRASTICALLY in the last year or so. Used to always be a mess, avoided if possible because of bad customer service. Now seems to consistently have good service, happier employees, much cleaner, and I think the price even got better. Very happy 11/10 would recommend. First time in the store and definitely my last. I'm a disabled veteran looking for UV clothing. First bad experience was calling the store to find out if they even have UV clothing which took 18 min on the phone. Long enough to drive from Seymour to Columbus. After finding out they have it, I went to the store. I found a sales associate who was too busy to help me so finally I found the shirts. Went to the changing room attempted to get the same sales associate to help me use the changing room but again he was too busy and walked off. I tried to get his attention but I can barely walk so I could not catch up to him. In frustration placed the $100.00 worth of shirts on another rack and walked out. I called the manager. He acted like he really didn't care either and hung up the phone. read more

Dunham's Sports is a chain that frankly isn't located near me and the closest location is 90 minutes away. I was wishing to purchase a particular model and size of a kayak that couldn't be located in the Louisville or the southern Indiana area. I called Dunham's on a Friday evening and within 2 minutes I was speaking to a knowledgeable person that was willing to hold a kayak until I could make the drive the following day. I walked in to find Dunham's Sports is huge and had 300 kayaks in stock, this place makes Dick's Sporting Goods & Academy Sports look like a White Castle in comparison. Great customer service and how often can you make that statement these days, huge selection of any type of sporting goods that you could ever need under one roof and the price of my kayak was under the values that I had seen on line. read more

Just relocated to this area and had never heard of this chain of stores before yesterday. I stopped in to find a new fishing shirt. I asked a clerk where to find Columbia brand shirts. He responded that he was too busy to assist me. I wondered to the back of the store and continued to look. 2 other clerks also passed me with more important things to do than assist. Once I found a shirt I wanted to try it on but could not find someone to open the locked fitting rooms. When I got to the register to shock out there was a sudden influx of people liked up and the cashier looked like he was not happy working there. All in all I will never go back. This is why I primarily shop on line any more. Customer service is severely lacking and the no care attitude prevails at this location. read more

Wandered into Dunham's today - thinking we might buy some target ammo among other things. Hardly anyone working there - and when my husband did go ask for assistance someone pointed at a case and said "anything on sale should be in that case" (a locked case). In a store with hardly any customers you'd think they would walk over with you and offer to open it up and help - nope. We also would have looked at a new gun but not with the terrible customer service. In my experience their prices are higher than they should be anyway - no idea how they stay afloat. Sorry this is store specific and not completely positive comments. I was in the Columbus IN store on Sat. Dec. 8, 2018. While trying to find a specific item one of the associates told me exactly where the item was located at. (She was accurate) I then was waiting in checkout with a few people in front of me. One of the cashiers (a male, around late teens-early 20's, unknown name) got ready the ring someone up at the register and I noticed he spit into a cup that was located under the register area & the puffed out cheek on one side. That is usually a sign of chewing tobacco. I am glad he did not check me out. I think chewing tobacco while working in front of the public is distasteful and hope it is not allowed in the employee handbook. Chewing tobacco should only be allowed while not at work. I would like the Columbus Indiana store to be aware of the issue & correct the matter. read more

Good company, but this store in Columbus is the worst one I have been to. Every time I have tried to buy a firearm or any item they sell that is associated to firearms or hunting I am unable to make the purchase because the manager on shift refused to sell me the item. When I asked why they wouldn't sell it to me they had said "because I don't want to;" not for any reasons such as something that was against store or corporate policy. I tried to purchase an American Rugar .308 they were having a sale on but they ran out and when I asked if they had a waiting list I could be put on or a rain check I could fill out I was told "no, it is against corporate policy". Later that same day I called the store to notify them that I talked to three different managers from three different stores and they do in fact take rain checks for firearms; when I tried to politely notify the manager, he got nasty with me over the phone. I will not go back to this store unless I absolutely have to. read more

I recently purchased a fish finder from this store and gave it as a gift, to later find out that the package had been opened and pieces removed before I purchased it. I called to speak to a manager expecting some type of resolution considering how unacceptable this is. I got to speak with Robin, I explained what was happening and al I got was an "ok" followed by a long pause. she proceeded to tell me "I'm not sure what you want me to do, just bring it up here and we will refund your money" never an, "in sorry for this" or anything like that, just acted like it wasn't really her problem. When I took it in to return it, same lady, same shitty attitude. I guess the fact that they sold me a product that cost me 150$ had been opened and had a missing transponder didn't seem like any big deal. This wasn't like a "I don't think I want this so I'll return it" type of thing.... this is a major screw up on the part of Dunhams and the way they handled the situation was unacceptable. I will never buy from here again. read more
