We bought so much furniture from Dunhill. We are still paying on it and our mechanical system broke down in our chair, but when we called to talk to the boss Danny, heI said, you have to have the reciept...even though we have our monthly statements and he has our records of all the stuff we bought. We bought the 2nd best recliners in the shop! Danny told us they were leather, but found out they were not! One of the chairs already started peeling. Cheap!! They have really nice furniture in here and at great prices! Bought a name brand queen bed for $300 here. The owners obviously care about quality and affordability as they don't have cheaply built or low quality items here but prices are much lower then other places. This is an overdue review from when this store was located on Prescott Rd in Modesto. My family was sofa shopping and after many stores we came to this store. The prices were cheaper than other stores, but the quality was just okay. The furniture looked good so we went for it and got it. It was delivered on time and it settled in well in our living room. It was a leather sectional with four recliners for only $1100 which was a damn good deal. After a few months, though, the strings on the recliner broke off. The service was good and were provided with new pieces but unfortunately those didn't last very long, either. The salespeople were friendly and the whole process for us had been hassle-free, so the store is a good one. Quality wasn't that great in our purchase, but it is my understanding that they had merchandise here of varying qualities and prices to go with it. It's a pretty reasonably priced store, though, so if you're furniture shopping and on a serious budget, try out this place. The salesperson wasn't too pushy, either. (I get a little freaked out by pushy salespeople and my first instinct is to run.) read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The worst customer service ever. They are not friendly. Their furniture is extremely cheap quality. They also give you the run around. My recliner couches all broke within a year of buying them. My kitchen table broke within 3 months. All they do is sit in the back of the store and talk to each other. They don't treat their customers nice at all. Especially after you have made a purchase. They make you think you are the one wrong and dumb! Do NOT buy from here! read more

The sales people were all sitting around a table eating and watching TV Looked around some the furniture looked dirty and walked out. 5 months later I went back for second time just to see if there was new furniture NOPE same dusty dirty furniture and not soul around. We purchased a sectional and recliner here. I was disappointed to see all the negative reviews after we had already made our purchase. Our experience in the store was pleasant. I hate when furniture salespeople follow you and that was not the case. We were welcomed and left alone until we had a question. We didn't feel pressured at all. We were given a pretty good discount for paying cash. They gave us a three hour window for delivery and it was delivered after the first hour. The delivery guys were quick and polite. I don't care for people on the sales floor being pushy with their merchandise. After my family told them that we were just browsing, they followed us throughout the store. We sat on one sofa to try it out and they pushed cash, financing and credit pricing on something we didn't even say we liked. Although they did have decent product, the experience made a potential sale turn into a 10 min visit. Their products were overpriced by about 30%. read more

I had a great experience.. I ordered my couches and I feel after many long days of searching they have the cheapest couches anywhere !!

We finally got our money back, will not do business with this place again. I spoke with the owner about rude customer service and how they treated my parents and were not professional at all. My parents asked them to return the bed because they did not like the sloppy work but the delivery guys gave them attitude and said "you can take it back" what an embarrassing service and they claim to be honest the two guys lied to the owner about the whole incident. Neither of the guys had name tags on extremely unprofessional. Buyer beware if you don't care about furniture or customer service go here but if you want a professional business with people who take pride in their work go elsewhere so that you will be taken care of with quality work ethic. How your employees treat your customers is a reflection of the way your business operates. The owner was rationalizing his employees (Danny) and was not honest about their work ethic. He was raising his voice at me and was barley listening to my side or complaint at first but he did give me my dads money back right away. Danny really needs to take a course in customer service and to teach his employees respect. read more

We went to 5 other furniture stores in Modesto that same day and I have to say that their prices from the furniture to the delivery is more reasonable. I have had a horrible experience with Dunhill Furniture. I ordered an Ashley Cocktail Table in December 2011 and received it that same month. When opening the box and putting it together, we realized that one of the legs was broken. The screw that came up out of the leg was completely stripped and the wood was cracked. We took the leg back the same day and were told that the leg was being ordered right away. They tried to temporarily fix the leg so that we could at least use the table until the new leg came in. So now, 5 calls and 2 1/2 months later STILL NO NEW LEG. I paid top dollar for a product and it is broken! I am so frustrated and irritated. I will NEVER shop here again. EVER. I would NOT recommend this store to ANYONE. read more

Not willing to budge!!!! I'm new to the valley so I have been searching for a furniture store to do business with walked into Dunhill was trying to make a deal on several pieces of furniture ended up buying a King bed frame paid $890 with delivery and set up...I needed to purchase the side tables but I was going to do that at a later date being smart with my money and a businessman myself I know to shop around came back to Dunhill a few weeks later and asked about the side tables the guy told me $640 and he would not go any lower I asked about the price on a bunkbed with A full-size mattress was total $640 this guy Will not go down on price said he had the best price around.....mind you the King bedframe I paid $890 for another furniture store told me that they would've give it to me for $700 with delivery and set up the same side tables he told me $640 for and the bunkbeds he said $640 which is about $1280 total... I bought both at that other furniture store for $1000 with delivery and set up and this furniture store is way in San Leandro... Will never step foot in Dunhill furniture again... read more

Using my basic needs and budgetary constraints, the salesman helped me select a table set that met my needs very well. The delivery was on time; set up was very efficient. Buyer Beware...We stopped in to Dunhill Furniture to look around we were looking for two bedroom sets for our children plus a bedroom set for ourselves the sales people there were very nice and we found bedroom sets we liked for our children and ourselves. We decided to purchase all three sets this was on a Monday or Tuesday they said they could deliver them on that Friday I was very pleased to get them so soon. Upon the arrival of the furniture they were missing one of our children's full bed that they said wouldn't be in till next week sometime. The childrens furniture was all boxed, then I noticed for our bedroom furniture there was only one item that was boxed? When they pulled the unboxed items off the truck I noticed they looked warn and used? We then called the owner and asked him what was going on? He said it was THE FLOOR MODEL!!! They never told us they were selling us the floor model thats not what I paid for! Why would I pay $2500 for floor model furniture???? The owner said he could't get the new furniture for like a month thats why he sold us that set. We made them take ALL the furniture back and got my money back. We went to Furniture for less and got the SAME bedroom set for cheaper and it arrived ALL IN BOXES and was BRAND NEW in a week! Dunhill said they couldn't get it for a month makes you wonder how many other customers bought floor models from this place! read more
