Responding to the comment below, since I can't respond to your comment directly. I'm not upset that I had to wait, you need to do a better job of setting customer expectations. You stated it'd be ready the next day which is why I wasn't happy. I'f your employee would have said that from the beginning it would have been fine. Also, if this is "good" customer service, then I understand why the valley is such a shit place to be. Don't let the cheap prices fool you, they are under stocked and have extremely poor customer service. Ordered a mattress from the store and was told we would receive a call the next day when they received their shipment but never got a call. We decided to give it a few days and wait for the store to call, but ended up driving down to the store a few days later due to their lack of communication. Once in the store, the employee Anthony "greeted" us with his lack-luster salutation as if we weren't even there. We explained the situation and asked about the status of our order and were told that they under stocked and didn't call us because we order a cheaper item and that we could either get our money back or just wait like everyone else. My issue is there was no empathy, or concern for my issues as a customer. What kind of customer service is this? Why would anyone want to spend their money here? So I inherited a gorgeous sleigh bed frame, full size, for my spare bedroom, but I needed a mattress and boxspring for it. I didn't need anything expensive, but I wanted something comfortable for my guests. I went to every furniture store along McHenry Ave and discovered that alot of businesses employ people who have no idea what they're selling and couldn't even answer basic questions about mattress types (ex: I asked one sales person to show me a plush pillowtop mattress and I was shown a memory foam mattress. She said, "feel it... it feels "plush" and "like a pillow"). After searching through Craig's List, Facebook, and Yelp, I stumbled onto Modesto Furniture. I walked in and there was 1 guy working. I immediately told him what I was looking for and he led me to an array of mattresses. I asked him about prices and he told me how much each mattress with box spring would be for the size I wanted. So this is the really cool part. He said, "Hey, if this is for a spare room, I'd go with this cheaper set." What?! He's not trying to sell me the most expensive item?! Then he told me to try them all out and let him know what I wanted. He then LEFT ME ALONE so I could make my own decision and didn't hover over me and try to get me to overspend. **LOVE!!** I ended up choosing a Newberry Silverest 10" no flip pillowtop mattress and boxspring for a complete total, including tax of $326. That included $25 extra for a boxspring foundation versus a wood foundation. Add $20 for delivery and setup by a super funny Cutie Pie named "Freddy" and I feel like I completely scored! Because full mattresses aren't the norm size of mattress, the set I wanted wasn't in stock, so i had to wait 2 weeks for delivery, but that was cool, I fully expected it and one of the owners, Noor, took great care of me and didn't get irritated when I called all of the time regarding arrival day/times. This is a warehouse type of store, so you arent paying for the overhead of those other stores with lots of nic nacs and showroom type settings with several employees hovering over you. You have an owner who knows his product. Noor earned my trust and I will definitely go back to Modesto Furniture for any furniture needs and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Having worked in the furniture industry for two years I know the pricing of select brands and the furniture they carry. I can say without a doubt that Modesto furniture will give you the best deal in the valley! Anthony was very helpful and helped us pick two items that will be delivered this Friday. So I was apprehensive on writing a review, mainly because while doing my research I saw this place rated well and had a few recommendations for this place. Upon reading the reviews, I noticed that for every great review, one of the owners would praise the rating in their response, but for every low rating, the same person would chastise the person making the ratings and ridicule them like the customer was the issue. Not the way to go as far as professionalism, doesn't matter how long you've been in business. Anyways, I went into the showroom shopping for a bunk bed for my kids, I was not greeted (eye contact does not suffice as a greeting), I walked over stating what I was looking for and the gentleman pointed me in the direction I could find it. Didn't bother getting up to show me, just pointed; didn't matter, but to you future customers, it might. I went over and looked at my options, no prices listed so I walked back to ask because I wasn't going to holler across the showroom. I was given prices and then pointed in the direction of mattresses, again no listed price, had to walk back over and ask. I ordered, because the price was right and was given a week or so estimate on delivery (due to covid) which I was okay with. A week passed so I called to follow up as courtesy and was told they tried to contact me several times to schedule delivery because my items were in. Mind you, never had any voice-mail from them or missed calls (I always have my phone on me for work purposes as well, I would have noticed). While the customer service was sub-par, the pricing is why I gave it a 4 star rating. A simple "hello" would have called for a 5 star, but seeing as my experience wasn't quite personable like I mattered as a customer, its a 4, which is still generous. Will I do business here again? Most likely, I just hope the employees take this into consideration and be more friendly. I don't mean car salesman, on my back friendly, but perhaps a bit more personable would be great. Anyways, the bunk bed was very easy to put together (had taken about an hour with 2 of us). My boys love their new upgraded beds. Their happiness is also what drove a 4 star rating. read more

BY FAR this is the best furniture place I've been too! They have very unique selection of furniture and if it's not on floor you can choose from The catalog, there's many other options and they could have it delivered in just 5 days or so. The Business owner was very welcoming and the atmosphere of the store was great as well, we spend about 30 minutes and we got what we needed we didn't have to bargain or get any discount because the owner himself beats any price out in the valley and he was really good with customer service! My husband and I were in the market for a sofa bed and found this furniture store on Craigslist where they advertised to " hurry in" and see their great selection of sofa beds etc... We drove ALL the way from Valley springs to see their great selection only to be told we could look at their selection " online" . My husband explained that their ad on Craigslist did NOT say the items were not in the store to which the guy working there replied, it didn't say the items were IN stock either. I was taken back by that comment and found it very unprofessional. We were in a bind and needed something as soon as possible and asked if he had any floor models we could purchase that day since we had made the trip all the way there. He showed a couple he had there, we found one we could live with and asked what kind of discount we could get since it was a floor model. He said he could take $25 off. I pointed out there were greasy fingerprints all over it and he said I could wash it off and he would even "help" us load it. Well gee thanks, don't ALL furniture stores help load their furniture? It's not like he was doing us any favors. We left to go get cash...when we came back, I was hoping he would've maybe wiped the greasy fingerprints off for us, got rid of the crumbs...you know...go the extra mile with the customer service. No such luck, he was still surfing the web where we left him. We paid him, took the sofa bed and left. All in all, the price was okay, the customer service left more to be desired. We had just purchased furniture the month before from furniture pros in Manteca and they had GREAT customer service from the buying to the delivery process. So since we live in Santa Nella which is about an hour away we traveled to multiple stores looking at sectionals. We went to a few different stores Mor in Fresno, Hansens in Modesto and a few in Gilroy. We had prepared ourselves that we would have to spend 2000 or more on a nice sectional. So we had decided to buy a set at Hansens for 1900 we were driving there and saw an ad for Modesto Funiture on Craigslist for a sectional for $450 So we decided we had to check it out. We didn't like the one that was advertised but found the almost exact same sectional we were going to buy at Hansens for less than 50% of what we were going to buy it for. The also found a dinning room and bedroom set that we loved. We bought everything for less than what we were going to buy that one sectional. I drove in traffic with my two daughters for over an hour to get here to come to a sign saying they're closed today. Very frustrated. He could have told me on letgo that they would be closed today since we've been communicating.
