I love this spot…read more The breakfast burritos are so good - worth every penny - they even wrote my name on hot sauce with it. The ambiance is nice and spacious. You can breathe while you have your coffee. The staff is very helpful, and yet super efficient. This is in a great location right off the boardwalk. I'll be back soon.

I guess you could say we did the full Locals experience: a surf lesson at Locals Surf School…read morefollowed by a meal at Locals Collective, which shares ownership with, and is only a block away from, the surf school location at Beach 69th. Locals Collective is such a sweet l'il cafe. The vibe is relaxed and lovely, with friendly, helpful staff (especially the woman wearing the ramen cat shirt, whose name I didn't get, unfortunately). The menu is small, but includes some healthy options like the breakfast sammy (with two eggs, avocado, sprouts, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese, and spicy aioli on whole grain toast), acai bowls, wraps, overnight oats and that sort of thing. The breakfast sandwich wasn't very big -- or rather it was a normal size, well filled, but made with commercially standard-size sliced bread, not a hero, sub, or roll -- and was perhaps a touch spendy at $12. The Progeny inhaled the sandwich after snarfing down a sushi roll we'd brought -- and still wanted two large protein bars, after. (I guess surfing cultivates a good appetite.) He said he enjoyed it, though. My iced coffee was a touch weak, but serviceable. There's pleasant seating indoors and out, with a few folks working on laptops. There are quite a few dining options on this particular block, including burritos, pizza, ice cream, and a few full-service restaurants -- but in terms of aesthetics and overall look-feel, Locals Collective takes the win. Surf boards (I think soft tops only) are available for rent at Locals Collective, for $35 / 2 hours. Prices are a bit higher than at Breakwater Surf, which rents for a jaw droppingly low price of $5 an hour -- but Locals does offer additional amenities like changing rooms and a shower, which I'm prima-donna enough to think is worth it. You can also rent a wet suit, which you'll probably want if the air temp is anything cooler than 75F. Waves at Beach 68 are fairly small, but reportedly consistent. We'll be back for more, I'm sure.

This girl who works there and literally screaming in the store "I don't care I don't care". Baby…read moregirl I'm sorry for whatever Starbucks did to you but you need to find a new job. And then giving me an attitude when I wasn't talking to her LOL And the Indian looking manager, lord. Thought he could fool me saying he made my drink correctly. Haha Yeah ok Look, these people are overworked and it shows. They're rude, angry, running on caffeine. It'll make anyone go nuts. I'm surprised they didn't go on that strike a few months ago. Don't go here guys, they seem like dead horses walking. I hope they figure out there worth some day because it's sad. The energy really shifts when you walk in here. There the new McDonald's of bad service. However I do recommend getting your orders through the drive thru. They tend to get them right more often than getting it right in store in front of you.

Disgustingly Dirty! A sad example of the Starbucks brand…read more I was swinging by this Starbucks location on my way to a doctors appointment. This girl was in the mood for caffeine!! Honestly when I pulled in and I saw the crap all over the place under the advertising boards and drive-thru, I should've just ran. I was desperate though lol. There is literally just tons of crap and garbage all over the place. It's out in plain sight so they can't say they didn't know it was there. Some of it's right under the security cameras. This place is disgusting. After I got my drink I said to myself "if this is how disgusting and dirty they keep their establishment where people can actually see things, imagine with the back of the shop looks like we are customers don't have access." I decided to not have my beverage and chucked it in the garbage at the local gas station while pumping gas. Staff was very lackluster too. No personality at all.
