Been ordering here for a while, and usually they're pretty good, however do yourselves a favor and don't order using Uber eats unless you don't change the order customization. I ordered once a Lamb over rice, no hot sauce no tomatoes and it came with both of those. I reordered and put in caps NO HOT SAUCE NO TOMATOES, and called the driver to ask him to verify. The staff was supposedly very rude to him, and when i received the order it had hot sauce yet again. I called to complain and right off the bat they said that the delivery driver was rude and that they were busy (idk how this is my problem) - and the best they could offer is that I come in and they will replace the food. Um.. I ordered delivery, paid a delivery fee, service fee, and a tip, AND waited over 2 hours to get 2 wrong orders. That's the best you can offer? This used to be the it spot. I used to go everyday buy a salad and a smoothie. Now every time I go theres a problem. Last week I made an order and an hour pater I went they didn't put in the order. Today I called made an order they did it wrong again and the salads are hot. I repeated the order twice. When we go there the salads were just sitting there in the heat. The biggest asset to this place is that they make smoothies! Something this area needs. Right down the block from St. John's Hospital. They have many different blends of smoothies too, as you can see from the menu. They have your typical deli stuff too. Chips, candy, deli sandwiches, etc. They have scones and cookies. Not sure if it's baked there or brought in. I only tried the smoothie but it was good and not expensive. I'll definitely be trying other things as I will surely be coming back. The person on the phone was very unprofessional and after we ordered some salads he advised us they do not have the materials to make a salad. From the time this place opened to now - this place has gone downhill. The staff are very rude and talk to their customers however they like. On top of that -- they do not even wash their fruits. I ordered a juice from there and the young lady put the apples in the machine with the stickers on them. I complained to her and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I went and told the young man on the register and I was told "It is not a big deal and that the sticker would not go through the juicing hole." I am COMPLETELY turned off by this place. In a time of a pandemic you'd expect every establishment to be on top of the cleanliness of the store and make sure it's in tip top shape for the health and safety of not only the employees but also the consumers. I've been a longtime patron of Yumze from the time they've opened but the service has gone downhill. I watched the cashier pick his nose and when it was time to bag my order he pulled his mask up and proceeded to handle my order. I told him I saw him digging his nose and he got very belligerent, I said I will call the health department. I went back another day placed an order and explained to the person making it that I'd appreciate if the cashier didn't handle my food because he is not sanitary and I watched him pick his nose on more than one occasion instead of ensuring that my food was handled accordingly I was kicked out of the store. When we got there I decided to get a smoothie with strawberries and the Spanish chick making the drinks was digging through these soft mushy looking strawberries that didn't look pleasing what so ever, & I asked if I can have some pancakes and she directed me to this guy with green hair so looks like he hates his life and said he doesn't make them. Then the guy at the counter decided to make them for me and once they were done they tried charging me 5 dollars meanwhile on the menu above it clearly says "$4.00" and they were making it a hard time until I told one of there staff to come around if they think I'm lying and they he said "yeah your right". I walk here from the hospital whenever I forget to bring lunch. I had the yumze wrap with seasoned fries which was dope. The people are super friendly there and the store carries higher end snacks as well which is a plus. They gave non Heinz ketchup packets though. The cheese burgers were big and delicious. The omelette looked good. The passion fruit smoothie and strawberry banana smoothie was delish but the green smoothie was overdosed with lemon.
