Nicest people ever, my brother Joseph raves about this place, loves the coffee and burgers.

I'm basing this on one item, which happens to be the best sausage, egg, and cheese in the five boros. It's phenomenal, they cut the sausage links in half and cook them on flat top to perfection. The spanish food in the buffet looks killer, though i've never had it. Mott ave is pretty much a war zone, but it's honestly worth finding a spot, walking quickly to ralph's, and grabbing this sandwich if you're passing through. read more

Service from particular waiters is disgraceful. As a customer wanting just his food in a metal pan this lady goes crazy. The chef is awesome and some of the ladies that worked there are sweethearts, but this lady in the photo is a Un duendecillo. All because the food that I was willing to pay for I wanted it in one single metal pan. I would definitely come back to get the food and the chef is very very good. Breakfast is cool but the food on the line is dry as hell. I ordered salmon and it was like eating sand i had to throw it out there was no way of saving it. This is my new go to spot for food in the Far Rockaway region of NYC. Great spot for Dominican Food!! The open early at 5am!! Excellent food portions!! All the items here are delicious!! People are nice. If I have to eat here everyday I will do it. Among the top restaurants in the surrounding area. Good for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Don't order the chicken soup, specially if you are Dominican and know what good DR food is, you will be disappointed. They need to clean that chicken better, it taste like it's still clucking, fat droplets floating all over, No flavor what so ever! Update that recipe. Get a great deal here and some very tasty food. The portions are generous! The roasted chicken falls off the bone. This is a good lunch option to grab and go if you are in the area. I work a couple blocks from here, and it has become a favorite spot. read more

While visiting family in the area I came across this restaurant and stopped for breakfast. There are not many options in this area so I gave it try. Immediately when you walk in you can't help but notice the obvious homeless that hang around. The staff apparently allows them to order coffee and water for free which is a nice gesture. However, the free coffee and water orders definitely delayed me in placing my order. The staff is not the friendliest. It took so long to get a staff member to take my order that I almost walked out. I commend them for proving free services to the homeless in the area but as a paying customer I feel I should be greeted first. Once I was able to place a order I requested it to go due to how congested the restaurant was. The food itself was decent but not out standing. Our order consisted of scrambled eggs that they said they had no cheese to add to. Pancakes with side orders of sausage and bacon. The eggs might've been the worst I have ever tasted from a restaurant. They tasted just like grease and not butter or margarine. If I ever try this place again I would definitely avoid the eggs! read more

I have been going to this guy now for over 20 years. Food is consistently enjoyable. It gets very busy please be patient.

This restaurant has been opened for years. The service has been rude and racist towards African Americans. Went in there and waited for someone to take my order and the waitress came to other people first and had me waiting when I was there before other people. It's a shame that I had to go through this. Seen that their department of health grade is still pending. Noticed that they didn't clean the chopping board used to cook chicken. It's sad that a business that has been in the community would treat people that live in the community this way. I noticed that the someone on yelp reported the same conditions. Ralph's is one of the best diners in the five boroughs. It is definitely the best on this peninsula. Whenever i visit the Rockaway's, not only do i eat in; i bring food out for dinner. All of their food is delicious and well prepared with care. From homemade pancakes and real home fries (breakfast) to the baked turkey wings, oxtails, baked/seared fish, and cherry lemonade (i created) all is good! All of the workers are pleasant and never appear to be disgruntled- for any reason. the place is usually packed, but somehow the customer is served in a timely manner. The only Spanish restaurant and food place that's delicious in Far Rockaway. The only negative is the staff makes up their own prices. One time I paid 7 dollars for a huge plate of food and another time for the same amount of food they charged me $13. read more

I agree with Laura n. The staff is very very rude. The food on the other hand is sometime perfect or sometime nasty and dry. The staff which is 90% females 75% of them don't speak English that we'll so u spend 5 minutes try explain what u want. Customer service from a scale of 1-10 gets -5 in my book. The owner really needs to do something about their attitudes, unprofessional talking over the food as they make your food which has to be against the board of health. It seems like they don't like where they work but have to do the job due to probably being a illegal. They don't care about the customers. I really wish black people in the area where the store is located stuck together cause I would really BOYCOTT this place. read more

Ralph's Diner in Far Rock is an excellent place to eat, unless you are white, because God forbid you are white they will not serve you. My father and I came in for brunch, and were given the cold shoulder by staff who looked at us and made remarks/angry faces. The hostess preferred to stay on her phone, and the waitresses avoided us, paying attention to new customers who sat around us and weren't white.
