I went thru their drive-thru to get a courtesy cup of water because I forgot to take my prescription meds before I left the house and I didn't have enough change to get a drink. They told me to pull around and then proceeded to inform me that WE DON'T PROVIDE COURTESY CUPS OF WATER HERE, IT'S GOING TO BE 75 CENTS. I said are you serious? Everyone provides a courtesy cup and she said WE DON'T DO THAT HERE and I said you're probably the only establishment in the country that doesn't. I came to this Dunkin' yesterday craving a sweet tea. I decided to go inside, and from the beginning, the lady at the counter was so kind and pleasant. I asked for a sweet tea, only to find out they were out. The lady was suggesting things that were made without tea, and my final decision landed on a Mango Pineapple Refresher. The drink itself had a bad ratio of mango pineapple juice to green tea, but the customer service outweighed the whole experience. read more

I ordered a ice coffee and 2 orders of the hash browns in the drive through. My ice coffee tastes pretty good (a lil surprising) but when I bit into the hash-brown... it threw me off. They were all burnt, tasted nasty/old and salty. I wanted to go back so bad to get my money back or to get them remade, but I just thought to myself why would I do all that when I can just simply not buy the food there anymore and write a review to bring this to the attention of management so they can hopefully talk to their employees about selling Burnt food to customers. Driving from Boston to Chicago and stopped at this Dunkin' for a drive thru. They were very quick and orderly, and when they got around to our car the cashier was an extremely nice gentleman who saw we had 2 dogs in the back. He offered and proceeded to made us 2 cups for our dogs, with whipped cream and munchkins shredded on the top, and three munchkins on the bottom - our dogs loved it! Went above and beyond for no extra charge, would definitely say this Dunkin' is the best customer service of any I've been too. read more

This location on 6 has become very busy, and the staff consistently do an outstanding job. I think some of the negative issues have stemmed from the app. I don't blame local staff or owners for that. They're always patient, quick and friendly. read more

I know Dunkin Donuts is not a lavish establishment, but I still prefer to give them my business over Starbucks & when there is no indie coffee house in site. However, the service here made me regret passing up a $5.00 latte because the two employees where too busy chatting with each other & smoking by the back door. When my father & I called out for some service, the acted like we interrupted their day. Also the latte & coffee we were each served was awful....which they have not been at the DD in East Chicago or Whiting. As someone who has lived in portage for years and has gone to this dunkin a million times i am very disappointed in the service quality the past year or so. Majority of the employees are now teenagers which as a teenager i love to see my fellow peers making their own money but none of them seem to know what they are doing. It would be one thing if they were new but most of them have been working there for months either at this particular location or others. Today was my last straw and I do not know if i will be returning. I had asked for a small black iced coffee with liquid sugar and i received my drink with cream and granulated sugar. i went inside to get it fixed and noticed multiple other people coming inside to get their orders fixed also. majority of the employees looked lost and like they didn't know what they were doing. I have now heard so many bad things about this dunkin it is so disappointing. read more

My wife and I went in to get coffee and sandwiches before heading to the airport. We ordered coffees and two sandwiches- my wife asked for no cheese on her sandwich and the sandwich had cheese on it (so she didn't get breakfast) and we paid for two orders of hash browns (which the employee asked us if we wanted) of which we didn't get. I have seen better! This place is old and unkempt. Although there was a time when I loved going there for the great coffee, it is now bitter and I fear it being old. I just am not getting a good feel for the place anymore. There was a time it was top notch and I miss that. When you enter a food franchise, you expect a higher level of service due to the instructions by corporate. That is what I used to think. Now, not so much! It is sad that the privately owned company has to struggle against big box business but that is no excuse for being dirty. I once was told it is OK to be poor but not OK to be poor and dirty. My daughter and I ordered a bagel and a cappuccino and then panicked when we saw the bus pull up on Irving. We ran out (after paying) to catch our bus as the next one wasn't for an hour. Imagine my surprise to turn around and see a Dunkin' Donuts employee chasing us with our order! No jacket and a freezing cold day. This is basically the worst Dunkin Donuts . The coffee is always terrible. I've been a few times and gotten a few different things at different times. They thaw the donuts and then leave them out for a few days before they are allowed to serve them, or at least that is what I'm guessing. This Dunkin has got to be worst Dunkin in not only Portage but Porter Co. Every single time I come here my coffee is always made wrong. It's not a complicated order but they always manage to get it wrong. Today my coffee was wrong so I whipped a u-ee on Central Ave in annoyance and had them remake it... THE REMAKE WAS STILL WRONG! What is so hard about an iced coffee with no cream?! I could understand if they were busy but my brother and I were the only people in there! I'll stick to the Dunkin in Hobart! I'd rather drive out of my way to ensure my food and coffee is correct than waste my time and money here! read more
