I have been meaning to stop in here and try their donuts for awhile now. I came here because my daughter has a dairy intolerance & i can't have dairy since she's breastfed. I decided to try their vegan donuts since there isn't any dairy. The texture is definitely different than a regular donut would be. But it's still packed with flavor. The lady at the front pulled out a menu for me that they use for their vegan donuts which made it ten times easier. I will definitely be going back to try more. She was older, I didn't catch her name, but she was rude and condescending during our whole interaction. The store wasn't even busy when we came in and we were pleasant from the minute we walked in. At first I was disappointed to know that only very few had fillings in them but after tasting them I realized there was no need for fillings they gave ample flavor with the frosting on top. My favorite donuts!!! I come from Chicagoland to get these, quite often actually. They are so light, and crispy, and the flavors fit so well together. My favorite flavors include Strawberry Shortcake and Cookies & Cream. The earlier you get there, the more likely you are to make sure you find all of the flavors still in stock. I was very surprised by this place. The decor is very nice and the staff is friendly. The donuts look amazing however I didn't try the regular ones as I am trying to go low carb but amazingly they have keto and vegan donuts here. I ordered the keto ones. When I got them they looked nothing like the regular ones, in a bad way, however upon tasting them I was pleasantly surprised that they were very good. I got a variety of 6, grabbed two for my husband and I, as well as we tried a Leto donut. The box of 6 (for kids) looked amazing. The box of two I shared with my hubby tasted amazing!!! I LOVE these donuts because they have the consistency more like a croissant than a "donut". The Keto donut was mid-level. I love the concept and idea, but they do taste a bit heavy and a little grainy. I presume the use some sort of almond flower, so the texture is a little different. The icing was sweet tasting. The downside is that they are a bit costlier than a traditional donut (like from Dunkin), but the donuts are huge and easily shareable. The cost was 19 bucks for 4 donuts and 1 drink. The place could've benefited by having warmers on the donuts. All of them were cold and didn't taste fresh out of the oven. Parlor is legit good donuts! Rarely do these new fancy donut places live up to the hype. Parlor exceeded the hype! Our whole family loved it. This doughnut shop has been opened for about four weeks and I had to stop by while in town. We arrived when they opened. There was already a line of about 8 people and the line moved at a steady pace. When we arrived we were informed that the doughnuts were ordered separately from the hot food and drinks. The names of the doughnuts pull you in. We tried five and since I liked the basic dough base, which seemed like a cross between a croissant and yeast doughnut, I enjoyed all the flavors we tried - raspberry pistachio, raspberry filled, chocolate chocolate, campfire and plain Jane. They have dog doughnuts too which our dog loved! I also tried the breakfast tacos with bacon and avocado. The flavor was good though there was a bit too much cheese for my preference. The size was generous and I was not able to finish the tacos or a whole doughnut . The rest of the doughnuts held up well and it made a great mid day snack. I'm glad Parlor Doughnuts is in the area. I'd return to try more of their hot breakfast items and drinks, while there I'd likely pick up a doughnut and work my way through the other flavors. read more

Well I bit the bullet and am happy to report my comrades and I survived the line. It is not so long because of the folks ordering but they lack a system. I say put at the beginning of the line a zerox sheet of paper where you write down next to each donut a number - hand the sheet up and they could go to town while you pay. Simple. 5 stars and a glowing review couldn't express my appreciation and impression enough of Parlor and its crew! My husband took me here at 7 months pregnant and I've never had a more delicious donut! I really admired the interior design, and noticed they had a private event room. I reached out to the GM, Marissa, via email and she excitedly helped me rent out the entire shop for my baby shower! Her and her crew were so accommodating to all of my questions and needs. The rental charge came with 2 dozen custom selected donuts and 2 gallons of hot coffee. I also purchased an extra dozen donuts and a gallon cold brew for a reasonable price. We hosted my shower towards the end of October and it was absolutely stunning! We had a great time and all of my guests raved about the donuts and commented on how cute the inside was designed! Beth and Jessica were serving my shower guests and I, and were very attentive. They made sure that we had everything we needed. They even rearranged furniture to my liking and performed an extra cleaning before my guests arrived so the floors, tables and chairs were pristine! Throughout the shower, they hung out around the serving counter, there for anything we needed but were never in the way. The girls were so on top of everything and quick to accommodate our needs! After the shower was wrapped up, they even took care of the clean up for us! All we had to do was pack up our decor, but Beth and Jessica took care of wiping down the tables, chairs and floors again - they even dumped all of the trash for us! They were so eager to help and served us with a smile the entire time! We had some extra donuts to take home, so they boxed them up nicely for my guests and I to take them home at no extra cost! Marissa - the manager of Valpo's Parlor Doughnuts - was quick to answer any of my texts, calls and emails leading up to the exact day of my event. She was a delight to work with, and gave us permission to make the shop our own while we hosted. I cannot wait to host our next event at Parlor! The good, bad, and ugly. Good (actually great): Happened to stop in the morning before the grand opening and scored a delicious maple pecan donut. It was crisp on the outside and light on the inside...a real treat. The bad: am sitting in the parking lot at 6:00 this morning and...not a sole in sight in spite of the sign...they are closed.
