They up charge for everything already. We ask that 1/2 be placed in separate box as gift for friends. Young man is so confused .. why ?? So we get thru why and he gets each box filled with six donuts (no extra, the common bakers dozen). Ok price of extra box , not like you make it up with every donut up charge. Then he rings up two 1/2 dozens to upcharge more. We ordered a dozen and even a small box charge would have been more appropriate. It's not worth any battle to deal with lack of common sense ... this is today's youth and lack of any management and supervision. Of course he forgets to print receipt or I would post it here. 33.66 for two half dozen donuts and they require the friendly tip screen during checkout too. Sorry but you aren't that special ! At 6:30 am I showed up at the door of Jupiter Donuts awaiting my pot of gold. Or in this case my donut nirvana! I'll be the first to admit, I'm not looking for what some consider the ideal donut. You know the ones that have a multitude of weird toppings. I'm driven more by the texture and taste of the cake. Thin airy Boston creams with little filling, glazed donuts that are too sweet and have no substance are all too commonplace for my liking. Having said all that, you won't find any of that at Jupiter Donuts. However, in order to be the "best", it has to stand out from all others and this is where Jupiter Donuts doesn't quite make the grade. I mixed up my choices to assure a good representation choosing a frosted chocolate cake, a Boston cream, a chocolate frosted glazed and a sour cream. I guess because of all the advance kudos, my expectations were probably not realistic. And perhaps no place could live up to the high praise and subsequent anticipation I had. Unfortunately, although their donuts were good, I most assuredly wouldn't get up at 6am or wait in line for one. On an individual note, the best was the Boston cream with plenty of filling and a firm (not airy) cake. I'd have to say, I enjoyed this donut the most. I'd give it a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. My favorite donut is usually a frosted chocolate cake. Jupiters was good but definitely not the best I've had. Score it a 7. The sour cream as well as the chocolate frosted were average at best with both coming in at a 6. All were good but none were great. I must admit, I'm spoiled by the fresh-from-the-oven old fashioned donuts I enjoyed as a child at a place called Tices Farm. The smell and taste of those donuts still resonates with me after all these years. Perhaps those memories assure no donut place will ever live up to my initial donut experience. But my search will go one for that one donut in a million.

However, with this one, there are 3 points worth talking about- 1. It's take-out only! You can use the drive-thru or walk in but there is no inside seating. 2. The parking lot is teeny tiny and of course, the exit of the drive-thru runs right through it. Can you say demolition derby! Meh! 3. It is feet away from a giant big box store with the initials HD.
