Food- A large, laminated sheet with breakfast and lunch on each side. Maybe a tent card with specials. Home-style, American-style comfort food brought to you in often very large portions. The atmosphere was that of a diner with booths and tables, a nice longer table set for a group of almost 12. Specials on the board were of lunch and I was told by our pleasant waitress Amanda, we could choose breakfast or lunch on the weekend. I got to view both menus with fair prices and noted very full plates of specials coming out. One was liver and onions with mashed potatoes piled high. The older gentleman stated, "Now this is how liver and onions should be". The whole table was pleased with many eating that and the pork chop special. We chose to have breakfast and the pancakes were huge on the combo one. Both of us chose different potatoes and both were great. If anything the sausage patty was not to my liking. I like the actual patties. My husbands bacon was great. You get about 2 eggs with the specials. Sandy who is the owner is also the cook and training upcoming cooks. The couple was both there and the waitress staff was on point and actually friendly, unlike some places, this location felt like it could be our go to. It's hard to tell but I just call it delicious! They seem to be most known for their teas and meal replacement drinks. I had a good friend that offered to buy me an iced tea and as I'm usually a coffee drinker, I told her to surprise me. She handed me a beautifully iced cup called a Black Widow (Strawberry, Raspberry, Grape, and Peach). It was superb! I posted a pic of just part of their giant menu so you can see their unbelievable selection. BTW- I could have had an iced coffee which would be typical for me, but I took a walk on the wild side. Note- This is a street-parking place but that is usually not a problem in teeny tiny Avon Park. Note- If you are specially health conscious and doing the meal replacement thing, this is your place! This tiny little place is right on Route 27 northbound and has the wildly imaginative name of Liquor 27! Atmosphere- It really is a tiny little place and is just getting going. The day I was there the carpenters were still building his cooler so no cold beer yet but it's on the way. I perused the several short aisles and walls of booze. Everything was spotless despite the construction. The Product- The shelves were heavy on the hard liquor and light on wine. This was clearly not the place for buying a bottle of grape. There is also a full selection of lottery and the charge card machine was up and running. My spies had told me the prices were great, so I decided on a test that I had pre approved by 7 statisticians! I bought one bottle of Baileys Irish Cream and it cost me $19.99. I immediately went across the street to a big giant FL chain grocery store that everyone knows. Baileys there was $26.99. Whoa, that got my attention! I then went down the street to the enormous, humongous big-box store that is everywhere. There, Baileys was $20.97. So, it's seems clear that based on my awesomely scientific test that his prices are great! For those of us that prefer to patronize privately owned places as opposed to chains and need a hard liquor buzz, this place will get the job done.
