Food is plain diner Italian and Tex-Mex. They serve chips as starters. Portions are large but the quality is average. Their kiddie menu is enough for less hungry and many items are large enough to be shared for two. I had their steak fajitas. It was seriously over cooked and I didn't finish. Most peeps enjoyed their meal who ordered Italian. Hard pass on fajitas next time. ++. Service is prompt and friendly. +. Price is average. +. Established in a repurposed fast-food building, Caffe de Olla is undeniably a restaurant where people sit in chairs and are served food. The plants are fake; the waiters are all courteous, rushed, and hispanic; each glass of water is served with a lemon slice; overhead speakers play quiet music and loud advertisements. The menu makes a good attempt at offering as many dishes as possible with the as few unique ingredients as possible. It is a forced trifecta of american-italian, american-mexican, and american-american cuisines. Only a few narrow beams of culinary light break through the lowest-common-denominator haze. I ordered the {I can't remember the name}, which was a sort of tex-mex stir-fry of meat, zucchini, mushrooms, and, of course, nacho cheese. It wasn't delicious, but it was slightly daring.

This is terrific" I enjoyed a grilled chicken sandwich while my dad dined in the Greek Bowl with tater tots. The food was fresh, very tasty, but it was mostly the attentiveness of everyone who works here. They stopped by and made sure we had everything we needed and always with a smile. My mom originally wanted to get "take out", but the outdoor seating with umbrellas in the courtyard was too pleasant to pass up. We will be back.

The area is still under development but is nice. HUGE outdoor area to sit and relay with a beverage and dinner. Walked up to the counter, greeted warmly and told what to expect. Order at the counter, get a pager, place it in the designated spot on your table. That way they know where you are seated. Drinks came really quickly and were mixed just right. Food followed shortly after. It was tasty and priced right. Wanted to get a second drink and sit outside but the babysitter was about out of time. Great beer wall where you choose your own beverage. Lots of tables inside and out. Staff was really friendly.

When we entered the tiny dining room, we were greeted by walls covered with hand colored dollar bills. A warm fire was welcome on the chilly morning. The owners quickly seated us and took drink orders. The owner explained that they moved from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. All the food is prepared fresh by hand and authentic. I shared a Crab Cake Po'Boy with hubs. The sandwich was a daily feature and huge. Really huge. And delicious. My brother had the Oyster Po'Boy that I highly recommend. I tasted the large succulent, hand breaded oysters. This is the sandwich that makes you want to make the trip to Gatlinburg. My daughter and SIL had a half Muffalatta sandwich, which was huge and fresh packed with olives, meats, cheese and other good stuff. The kids shared a fish platter which came with a huge fried white fish and home fries. They actually ate their whole plate. The kid's meals are awesome. This is possibly the best cafe in Gatlinburg. The owners make you feel like family, the food is awesome and the dining room is interesting and cozy. We took the trolly into town so we didn't have to deal with parking. Parking is a bear downtown.

So much so, I was trying to figure out how to come back here before my trip ended. The gumbo and catfish nuggets are some of the best food I've had since New Orleans. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and skip the corn dogs for something way better and come here.
