Very, very poor customer service. The 4 donuts I got all had icing on them different flavors. She asked how many donuts before hand. Still shoved them all into a small bag together, now it's a mess. I like to go inside the store instead of driveway, and the employees seem to hate that. I was on the phone with my wife trying to get her decision on which donuts she wanted. The female employee was very pushy, impatient and rude. I kept telling her to please hold on a moment. I was the only customer inside. There were 2 other employees and drive thru was covered. She had no reason to be rushing me. Now I am not racist by any means. But every time I go to this store if I'm waited on by an Indian employee it's the same type of service, terrible. I have tried numerous times to place an order at this location, but it is extremely frustrating. I only have two items to order, but they continually talk over me, repeatedly cutting me off and misrepresenting what I have ordered. One large vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso, and a pup cup. I have to repeat this several times, and they never get it right. How difficult is that order? The person taking the order has a limited understanding of English, and is very harsh in their interaction. I ordered a DECAF COFFEE, and I waited to see if they make it, sure enough they served me from the regular coffee. I told them I want Decaf!!! And the owner said to me just add water and becomes decaffeinated !!! The audacity!!!! Then he asked me "do you want me to make a pot ?!!!! As if I was asking for something out of this world. First off, the workers that I dealt with on separate visits are usually extremely nice, and are easy to deal with. However, my recent visit has changed this completely. I don't know who I dealt with in particular, as they weren't wearing a badge, but they were extremely difficult and rude. My order was simple, a large vanilla iced coffee, decaf (important) with cream and sugar, and a ham and cheese sandwich. They seemed to understand at the window, but then they began questioning me about my order as soon as I got up there. They kept trying to change my order from what I wanted to a frozen vanilla coffee (which I didn't want). Finally after about a minute of me trying to explain my order, the lady gave me my sandwich and my coffee. This is where things take a turn for the worse. I am extremely sensitive to caffeine, which is probably a bad thing to be when you love coffee. This is why I always get decaffeinated beverages... They gave me regular coffee instead of decaf, and in combination with medicines I take, posed a significant enough risk for me to pay a visit to our towns urgent care. My blood pressure was way higher than it was supposed to be, and my BPM was 120 resting (which is tachycardia) I've been trained in serv-safe, a safety class related to food and how it's prepared and such. This would be considered a huge breach in safety, on par with contaminating food with peanuts; just to give it to someone who is deathly allergic to nuts. A lot of people don't take this into account, and stuff like this are huge red flags that their is an underlying problem. Again, I can see where Darwinism definitely plays a part here, as I shouldn't even think about visiting a coffee shop when caffeine can nearly kill me if I'm not careful, but I believed their safety measures would have prevented something like this. Clearly, it didn't... Needless to say, but don't think about eating or drinking here unless you are a normal individual who doesn't have any allergies or sensitivities. Otherwise, their sandwiches are pretty great, and the coffee isn't bad either. read more

Stopped by this morning to try the new pumpkin cream cold brew. Was told they didn't have cold brew ready, but they could make it with an iced coffee. I said that was fine, but what I didn't know is all the extra charges that would go along with it. The medium cold brew is advertised to be $3, but after she rang me up for the alternate version it was almost $6. That would be fine if I had ordered a drink with extras, but I didn't. They were unprepared and did not make any cold brew, not my fault. I planned to ask them about this at the window, but the woman working never said a word to me and barely even looked at me as she handed me my things. It's unfortunate this is the only donut shop in Shelbyville but it's worth going to Thornton's it kroger instead of dealing with this place! They never have anything...the icing and decoration on the donuts is poorly executed, the service isn't good at all, and it feels as if you're doing the a disservice for visiting their business!
