While eggy like a brioche, I found the dough not sweet enough. The Love Me Nots is a good example, composed of donut holes fried together and glazed and topped with jimmies, it tasted like glazed bread. The rocky road donut was a cake donut that was also composed of a not sweet enough and overly dense chocolate donut with a chocolate glaze and barely taste-able marshmallow drizzle. The chocolate raspberry was just ok One of the two donuts we did like were the Neapolitan because it was topped generously with a vanilla cream, a chocolate drizzle and a strawberry glaze. The toppings were prominent enough to sweeten the bite. The best of the was the mint chocolate chip filled donut which was filled fully and satisfied our sweet tooth. I was very excited when I asked about the macchiato, as they said they make them the traditional "correct" way, which is what I prefer. A very small, very potent and delicious amount of espresso, and I usually enjoy mine con panna which they were happy to oblige. While the espresso was pulled well and the drink was delicious, it did taste as if their roaster went just a bit too far, or they extracted just a bit too much. Not a big deal. However, at a place making this correctly, I would expect a damn good macchiato. The croissant was also tasty; buttery and flaky, and I am not sure if it was baked on site, but I feel like if it wasn't, they should consider doing just that, because that is what could elevate this to that next level and really make it a destination! All in all I was pleased with what I got and the price was reasonable for what we ordered. If I am in the area I will likely be returning to my favorite spot nearby that I frequent with reverence, and that is no fault of Chadds Ford Coffee House. But when coffee is needed and I'm around, if I can't go to where I normally would, this would be at the top of my list! Many Starbucks nowadays seem to function as grab-and-go coffee spots. But this location has a fairly large seating area if you want to enjoy your coffee with friends. This location is very busy on weekday mornings, presumably with a rush of workers, students, and local residents. I prefer to order in the app and pick up once I arrive. The staff seem to prioritize speed, efficiency, and accuracy. They crank out orders at a fast pace, so the wait is not too long. During my recent visit, the staff quickly remade a drink for someone whose order got mixed up, no questions asked. Also the bathroom was clean when I checked it out! That is greatly appreciated.
