I'm giving this Starbucks a great rating because of its convenient location, flexible ordering options, ample seating, and diligent staff. This store is right off of 202 in the Talleyville section of Wilmington. It is a standalone location, so no need to navigate around other stores to get here. There is a drive thru window for those days when you need to keep things moving. There is also plenty of parking in the Starbucks lot (or shhh the lot on the other side) to go into the store. Many Starbucks nowadays seem to function as grab-and-go coffee spots. But this location has a fairly large seating area if you want to enjoy your coffee with friends. This location is very busy on weekday mornings, presumably with a rush of workers, students, and local residents. I prefer to order in the app and pick up once I arrive. The staff seem to prioritize speed, efficiency, and accuracy. They crank out orders at a fast pace, so the wait is not too long. During my recent visit, the staff quickly remade a drink for someone whose order got mixed up, no questions asked. Also the bathroom was clean when I checked it out! That is greatly appreciated. How the f do you: 1) hit a car WHILE PARKING 2) not leave a note and just take off I'm from a state where literally we have more drivers than y'all have residents and I've never experienced such bad driving or manners. A solid Starbucks. Drinks are the same as expected. Haven't really interacted with staff, I pick up my drink from the counter and leave ASAP. The line is always long when I visit, in the morning before work and around lunch time. Just order on the mobile app 10-15 minutes prior to arrival for pick up at the counter and your drink will be ready by the time you get there. Save yourself a lot of time and very easy and convenient to order on the app for counter pick up. read more

I don't go to this particular location often because of the poor customer service. Whenever I go to this location, the afternoon staff especially one young lady in particular.. Always say, "hello welcome to Starbucks" to customers as they come in. When I come she never greets me or any of the staff. Then another young lady use to speak and was very polite, now it seems that she's influenced by the other young lady. I'm just a customer, that comes in, buy coffee, read my book and work on my art projects. I'm in my mid 40's, old enough to be there Fathers. I will not tolerate disrespect from any young folks. I really needed this after an 8 hour shift and starting my second job for the day but I should've stopped at the Glen Mills location before hand :( My drink was filled up to the top of the order label, About two inches from the top and there was this chunky milk at the bottom. Hope I feel well later. Quick service but I don't mind waiting for a drink with fresh milk... and maybe more drink since it's like $7 ? This is my favorite Starbucks in Delaware. The inside is always clean. They are always stocked with my favorite brownies when I want one. They are always professional. I like their adequate staff and this is the only drive-thru that I have seen in DE so far so that is a plus! However, the cleanliness around the perimeter of the store needs help. I saw the same iced grande half-filled latte sitting on the curb (between the 3rd & 4th parking spaces on the right) for about 3 weeks. This sounds strange but I have been coming here weekly with my daughter since the middle of November. All in all I just picked it up yesterday and kept moving. This store is great when it is open. The past few times that I placed a mobile order, I had to sit in the drive-thru to get my order. I understand that they are under staffed and that they cannot have the indoor open, but communicate this through the app. The only way that I know the in-store is closed, I have to drive there, get out of my vehicle just to find out that the in store is closed. I know how busy the drive-thru is and when I order my drink(s), I am on my way to work and I do not have time to sit in line to get my order. Another issue that bothered me which happened this last time - apparently only some customers can call into the store and have an employee bring their order to them instead of waiting in line like the rest of us. When I attempted to do the same thing, I was told that they don't have the staff to do that. Double standards maybe? read more

I am a Starbucks addict, and this is our go to location to grab one. We typically do mobile orders and pick up, the baristas always make them quickly for us, and greet us when we come in. My favorite drinks are the flat white and iced coffee with half and half, one pump vanilla syrup and one pump toffee nut. read more

I've been a fairly frequent customer of this particular Starbucks since it first opened. I've watched it go through the speed bumps of a management change, staff turnover and COVID-19. The staff, with few rare exceptions, is pleasant, professional, and seems to truly care about their customers' happiness. All this while working in what can be a busy, demanding industry with a sometimes-difficult clientele. Over the past month, I've noticed that my drink order seems to take longer-and-longer to be fulfilled with each passing visit; even when I have ordered ahead. In some cases, it's taken as long as 30 minutes. (My drink is one of the fastest, easiest ones to make, by the way). I'm the type person who, if I know WHY something like this is happening, becomes less annoyed by it. When I inquired about this trend, it was made known to me that this store has recently been experiencing a rash of call-outs. So the shifts frequently wind-up being understaffed. I also learned that this store was just made into a training hub so alot of the staff that are manning these shifts are inexperienced, newly-hired trainees. The 3 stars are just to call attention to the problem. This store used to be very reliable in terms of knowing when the busy vs. slow times were but it could be a slow time of day now and I'd still risk a 30 minute wait for a drink. I went into an empty store and ordered my coffee. The barista's if you want to call them that at this point proceeded to tend to other walk-ins after I made my purchase. Waiting for my drink I then questioned the ETA on my drink they ignored me to the point that the manager had to get up from doing her schedule or whatever it was she was doing to come and make my drink. I was appalled and they were just so matter of factly moving about as if I didn't just place an order. If they didn't want to work they could have stayed home. My money was the same currency others were spending so I should have been treated the same. The crazy thing was people usually make disparaging remarks when these things happen but I was calm cool and collective and just asked for my refund and went about my way. Excellent Starbucks with an excellent staff. This is an extremely busy 'Bucks that manages to maintain Starbucks quality at an incredible pace. Order on your Starbucks app, park on the far side, and walk in to get your order. It will save you 10-20 minutes of waiting compared to sitting in the drive through line. read more

ordered a steaming hot tea and it spilled ALL OVER ME before i even pulled out of their lot, because they didn't care enough to put the lid on it. they seriously just placed the lid on top and did not secure it AT ALL. they also steamed the water IN THE DRINKING CUP, & the cup is made of paper so it was literally barely in tact when they handed it to me. my pants are soaked & i probably now have burns on my legs because of their negligence. Purpose of the visit was to pick up an online order. Drive-thru was a long line so I elected to go in to avoid crowding the drive-thru. Employees are fairly apathetic when you enter. There are two queues - one for ordering and one off mobile pick-up. When in the mobile pick-up queue, they only acknowledge you when...well that never happened. You had to queue in the order line before they react. If the only way the system is supposed to work, then they shouldn't display signage for two queues. read more

Also if you come after 11 or 12 noon they are sold out of many "breakfast" type items so keep that in mind. No real issues. Keep in mind I have never set foot inside this particular store - but I have used the drive thru 3 or 4 times. Convenient for me when I am heading North on 202. read more

New Starbucks that filled in the gap between the downtown Wilmington and the Chadds Ford location. Be prepared to wait in line at the drive-through. My wait was 10 minutes. It would probably have been faster to preorder and pick up. The good news is that the brewed coffee was very fresh. read more

What horrible service! I went in to get a cup of coffee last week. Black Coffee. It took nearly 15 minutes to get a cup of black coffee! So I complained to the manager and she said they had a lot of mobile orders. I didn't really know what that means, but she said I could order on my phone before I came in and it would be ready when I get here. Great! I asked for her help and she got it set up on my phone and I was happy. Then this morning, I placed my mobile order. Again, Black Coffee. Order placed at 6:53am. I get to the store at 7:05am and still no coffee! They said they needed to brew a new pot and it wasn't even started yet. Now it's 7:16am as I type this, and I just got my coffee. That's over 20 minutes from the time I ordered to getting my black coffee. I can go to WaWa or McDonalds and have coffee in 30 seconds, but everyone tells me Starbucks is better. I usually have no problem with Starbucks, but today just wasn't up to par. They messed up my order, giving me a grande iced chai tea latte with an extra pump when I'd ordered a venti. I pointed out the mistake, and all they did was pour it into a bigger cup and add milk. So not did I pay for an extra pump I can't taste, I can barely taste the tea because the drink is mostly milk. VERY disappointed they couldn't have taken the extra minute or two to make a new drink, or at least add more pumps of chai to the larger one. read more

As a former Starbucks partner (not this locations, another) I was extremely disappointed. There was a line forming and four baristas ALL MAKING DRINKS?? Seemed unnecessary. Then I saw a male in a gray thermal and maroon beanie come out of the back, start taking orders and making drinks NO HAT NO APRON, I can only hope he washed his hands. The eggnog lattes my boyfriend and I ordered seemed a little off and the pastries we had warmed didn't feel warm at all. I've had to ask them multiple times to remake my coffee because it's barely half way full and when I'm paying almost 6 dollars for a cup of coffee this should not be a problem. The Barista, Dustin, explained a bunch of different hot teas and their benefits, then made my girlfriend an amazing beverage. She was extremely happy and Dustin saved the day! This Starbucks definitely earned repeat customers based off this visit and Dustin's excellent level of customer service. read more

I purchased an almond milk flat white at 9pm on 10/16 to get me through my drive from Jersey and then some homework. I waited 15 minutes in the drive thru and the server was rude and unapologetic. He told me he'd give me a total at the checkout window, not a big deal but why?! Then at the window he says nothing and takes my payment. I asked how much?! How hard is it, it's just coffee. Walked in (no way to get back in drive through/ explained there was really something off and after one more attempt all agreed that the milk needed to be tossed. Received a $4 gift card. 2. Drove up at 9:54 and heard recorded announcement that store is closed. Parked and walked in. Store was open and they knew nothing about the recorded announcement. This was especially annoying as I have a broken wrist and it was hard to handle the 2 drinks I ordered. 3. Ordered 2 drinks this evening. After several repetitions of my 3 drink order. I pulled out. Took a sip, and there was no Splenda in my latte. Drive through is a great convenience but this location needs to improve customer service!!! read more

With 6 servers, I still hadn't received my coffee at 2:16, so naturally I asked if they had forgotten me. This used to be my favorite starbucks but over time I've seen quite a few good faces leave and I'm not sure why but when they left, so did the quality of my cappuccinos and the time it took to make it went up somehow. Only one barista ever made it perfect for me and now that she's gone, i keep trying to give it a chance and I keep getting let down. Not worth the money I spend to get a drink not up to customer preference when I used to come in daily almost. This store has done a fantastic job so far. I attended the story time on 11/8 and had a great time! The baristas supplied free drinks for the kids as well as some treats. The atmosphere in here every time I arrive is super welcoming, I ALWAYS am greeted upon walking through the door. I come once a day and, while some days are better than others, I don't have one bad thing to say about the team! Disappointed in the limited selection of food, but the manager (Alicia?) explained to me that there are frequent "company outages" that is not within their immediate control and accommodated me by giving me a suggested sandwich they did have on the house. It's a shame most people would rather complain than talk to the employees to understand the why. I'll definitely be back! read more
