I have never been here before. Called to set up an appointment. No problem. Came in smelled of amazing essential oils very relaxing. Had an awesome atmosphere with waterfalls. Everyone was very quiet, which I don't mind I'm not much of a talker. Walked me through the solar nails process, and was able to do pedicure, nails, and eyebrows in around an hour. I'm doing this for my homegirls back in CC. This past weekend, a group of us came in to get manicures and pedicures for our girlfriend's wedding. Three of us (including the bride) got gels, one of us got shellac manicure and all of us got pedicures with french tips. My gel set looks completely bunk. Looks like something I could have done myself. Jimmy, I believe, gave me the complete opposite of Lady Gaga nails and instead gave me the most squared-off nails of all time, complete with sharp 90 degree edges. I know I haven't been in CC for a few years but if this is the new "look" down there, methinks I won't go back for a while. They already feel like they're about to chip off, and it's only been 4 days! Awful. Then, the maid of honor got the shellac done by Rosa, and it honest to god looked like a 5 year old did it. I never heard of shellac manis but if that's what it is, there is NO way I'm forking up $30 to have candle wax pressed onto my nails. Not only that, but TWICE her mani smudged -- the second (and final) time on the drive home. She went back to get a refund and have them remove it and they REFUSED to refund her. I'm sorry, but no refunds? Are you joking? I get that it's a private business and all, but unless they don't want to be run into the ground, I highly suggest they adopt the refund policy. I used to work for Red Door Spas, and we didn't just hand those bad boys out, but we DID take seriously "the customer is always right" policy, and it gave us some loyal customers who would drop THOUSANDS of dollars at our spa. Women of Calvert County LOVE to find their "nail guy/girl" and they are dedicated and loyal customers. I've heard TONS of stories about how Rosa is rude to people, and not one of their employees was friendly to any of us. I normally do not write reviews but this salon warrants a zero star review. I asked for a mani/pedi and when I sat down in the chair that's when it all began. I had a tech performing the pedicure, and a tech performing the manicure, both at the same time. It was impossible to relax when you are trying to serve two different people at the same time. The pedicure included a quick soaking of my feet, a 12 second cutting of the cuticle, an 8 second scrubbing of the feet, and poof it was done after the polish was applied. It was then that I noticed the sound of some sort of alarm or timer going off numerous times. As I looked around, I noticed that each salon chair is equipped with a "stick on timer" which is set from the moment you sit down in the chair. Apparently the techs are "under a timer" to complete the job in a certain amount of time. This makes complete sense since the mani/pedi was done in about 35 minutes -- and it shows. My timer went off twice during the experience and each time the tech began to rush even more. Both my feet and hands look like I received services from a 10 year old. Avoid this place, avoid their timers, and avoid paying for poor services. read more

Y'all! So impressed! My usual nail spot is in PG, they are still closed. I drive over a hour to get my nails done because I'm overly picky. This place was recommended to my sister in law, so we figured we'd try it out. Plus we live 10 minutes away. Everything was so clean. Everyone was so friendly. We didn't have to wait, they were already ready for us. They did our nails while doing our pedicure, so we were in and out. We were both so happy with the experience. Terrible experience first the lady who's was doing my pedicure was training a new guy and was paying more attention to what he was doing than what she was doing on my feet. She got polish all over my toes they were a sloppy mess. Then when she took me up front to do my manicure, she had me soak then she filed them and rush rushed bc she had someone waiting so after she filed my nails all crooked btw she passed me over to another lady who then just paints my nails! I was so stressed and needed some pampering so I headed to this place for a lazy Sunday pedicure. Rosa was amazing! The way she massaged my feet was perfect. The right amount of pressure and she wasn't concerned about rushing through it. I didn't feel like I was being hustled or rushed so that someone else could get my seat. On top of the fact that I love their massage chairs, I really enjoy the decor, color selection of polish, and the way the shop smells. Today there was a lemon fragrance that really helped me unwind. I just had the worst experience at this place and will NEVER return! I had been a couple times for a pedicure and they did a so-so job, so when I need a quick fill and didn't have time to go to my regular spot, I decided to try them. First off, I hate when a nail salon tells me I have to use a gel polish. I've been getting my nails done every 4 weeks for years and no, you can use a regular polish with a gel clear coat. But whatever, I picked on off their wheel. The door was clearly off as I picked a dark maroon and ended up with a red. I sat down and the guy started filling my nails down. He nicked at least 5 of my cuticles to where they were bleeding. Then I looked at my nails and they were crooked. I asked him if this was his first time doing nails and he said yes. The lady at the front asked if there was a problem and I told her they were crooked and he nicked my fingers. The original tech stormed out and started spewing a bunch of words in his native language. Now I understand the stereotype but come on, do you really think I don't think you were talking about me. I sat at the other tech and her and another tech continued speaking in their native tongue. As a matter of fact she never spoke another word in English except the price. She also did an equally shitty job. I was so fed up, I couldn't wait to get out of there! When it came time to pay, I was told $25. They didn't even try to "make it right" and honestly didn't care! I got a shellac (no-chip) manicure here and it looked ok, but what a rip off! I asked the price for the shellac before they started, but ended up paying nearly double! They failed to mention that the price they quoted me for the shellac didnt include taking off the shellac that was already on my nails, or the manicure. Apparently, it was only the price for the polish itself. They charged separately for everything else. I have gotten no-chip manicures at probably 20 different nail salons from here to california and I have never experienced anything like this. Normally there is a set price that includes the removal, the shellac, and the manicure. The technician was totally dishonest about the price I would be paying, and I ended up paying MUCH more than I have ever paid at any other nail salon for the same service. They also filed my nail down to practically nothing before applying the shellac, and it totally destroyed my nails. I have not been to any other salon that uses an electric file to file your nails down before putting on the polish. They don't need to do that. I went here once and had the pregnant woman (don't know her name) do my shellac manicure and it was good. Went back to get them redone and a pedi- 80$ later- it was so bad. A man did my nails. He was like a cars salesman. Didn't stop talking and not funny. My nails look terrible. The color is transparent is some areas, doesn't go all the way to the tips and starts high above my nail beds on some nails. Went in for Gel manicure and pedicure Asked for a regular pedicure - because I did not up grade to a more expensive pedicure I felt I was being rushed. Employee who did my pedicure and gel manicure was not socialable at all, was very RUDE to another employee several times. Kept going to the security monitor and checking every security screen ? For starters the customer service is absolutely terrible. The woman that works the desk is rude when you call. The staff isn't professional at all. They're work is poor quality. My girlfriend was so upset. They wouldn't even let her look at the gel colors. The woman Rosa doing her nails did a terrible job. She will have to get it fixed at another place. 45 dollars is a joke for the job Rosa did. Her line work on the designs (simple line and contrast on the tips, otherwise clear) is shaky, not at all uniform and she was very rude. These people need to learn that the attitude stays at home. The first experience I had at this place was great, but the few times after were terrible and have left me never wanting to go back. When you are seated for a pedicure you are handed a pedicure "menu", and even after picking whatever one you would like, they will continuously attempt to force you to choose a more expensive one. Rather than allowing you to relax and enjoy your pedicure, if you are getting a fill/manicure also, they will do this at the same time as your pedicure. This just leaves you sitting in different uncomfortable positions throughout your entire pedicure and not really enjoying. The thing that really put me over the edge though was the poor quality of service. They rush through the service for one, and you better hope you don't have anything that you're unhappy with and ask them to fix, because I guarantee they're not going to be happy about it, and they're going to make sure you KNOW they aren't happy. The last time I left there my gel fill looked more like it was a week old than newly done, and one of my nails was too thin and seemed like it would break at any time. When I went back in the following day they tried to tell me it was fine and refuse service, and then after my pushing and telling them that they needed to fix it, they charged me for something that shouldn't have had to be fixed in the first place. If you want friendly people, good customer service, and a relaxing time, this is definitely NOT the place to go. read more

This salon wins "Worst" Customer Service, don't go there. They are not interested in growing their business because customer service is so bad. I believe the owners lead this charge. They seem to be angry people, not sure if they're husband/wife. The decor is cluttered and tacky. Wait time is at least 20-35 minutes, because only a few staffers are crossed trained. All I see are negative reviews about this place but I have had nothing but wonderful experiences. I've never had to wait. Helen is doing my pedicure as I type this. I chose the $50 pedicure and she had been massaging my legs and feet for 15 min. I love that they use the hot stones. They are always the perfect temperature. Everyone is always super friendly and welcoming. Ive never had acrylics done here because I do not like the drills so I cant speak about that. I get my eyebrows waxed here and the wax never burns me. WORST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I'm used to paying a reasonable price for a mani/pedi, but this location charged me double. As soon as he finished doing my manicure, I noticed my cuticles were still looking horrible and asked him to please go over them. He didn't even know what he was doing, I even offered to do it myself, but was denied. I just wanted to get out of there so I let him finish and spent half an hour drying my nails/toes. My nails messed up within the first 10 minutes of me walking outside. I went back and he fixed it, which was a waste of my time. As soon as I got home I noticed my toes looked as if I never got a pedicure and my nails looked as if I did my own nails without knowing what I was doing. I went back after 2 days to see if I could get a refund for the horrible job. NO REFUNDS. I settled for having them redo the mani/pedi. After 20 minutes of waiting for an available person, the lady tells me I have to choose the exact color I did before. However, I had to repaint my nails for a graduation that first day I got them done. The lady became very nasty and condescending and began yelling telling me it's not her problem that I had to change my own color and if I wanted the job done I would have to pay another 18 dollars. I had paid 45 before. We got into an argument in which she involved a random customer and other coworkers. She began to say that maybe I hanged the color because I didn't like it and I explained to her that that wasn't the case. I told her "you saw my cuticles and my toes, you saw how gross they look," in which she responded by saying I was a liar. I gave this place a couple of tries and decided no more. One male technician Kevin was too rough and left me in pain and with cuts. He spent a great deal of the time telling me that I should use Neosporin when I got home. How about slowing down and try to do a good job? The last time I went I got a mani and a pedi. I do not recommend this without specifying that you have them done separately. I like to enjoy the pedicure but it's really hard to do so with someone working on nails and yakking with the person doing your pedi. Most techs seem pleasant enough but one in particular is more interested in talking on his cellphone or playing on his laptop and left one woman during her pedi for a good long while to take a personal call. I usually have a good experience at the Dunkirk Nail & Spa Salon but today was not. John polished my nails and at the base of my nails at the cuticle are clumps of polish as if he put to much on them. I also felt I was being rushed, rushed through the manicure and rushed through the waxing. I had just gone to the nail drying area when the eyebrow technician came for me to do my brows. I had to blow on my nails so they could continue drying and not get damaged. I signed up at my last visit to receive discount texts. When I arrived for my appointment I did not know I was supposed to enter my cell number on their screen to receive my discount. Therefore I didn't receive my 10% discount. I should of been reminded or asked to sign in since I was new. My overall experience today was not up to par and I give the salon 3 stars. read more

We literally had a conversation about keeping my eyebrows thick. She asked why they were so messy and I told her it was because I had been growing them out for months since they had gotten too thin. So she said "keep them thicker?" And I said "yes" and she said "okay" then she waxed my eyebrows off so much that I literally have a spot with no hair. There is literally a gap in my eyebrow. At a certain angle you can see where there is only one or two hairs in my eyebrow line just past the middle to the end for both of them. She really did the opposite of what she said. At least my nails look good. Would have given 5 stars prior since they have always been my favorite to do nails but I almost cried so 1 star. This place is horrible.. rudest customer service I have ever experienced. I've been 3 times total now, but my experience last night was enough that I will never go back. I asked for a gel full set, and my tech (Mary I believe?) convinced me to go with the new SNS powder dipping system. She clearly wasn't sure how to do it, she had to put on so many coats of it, I was starting to feel so bad because I could tell she was getting flustered with it. She was asking advice from her coworkers and switched brands of powder halfway through because it was just not working right. It was taking a looooong time. It ended up taking over 2 hours total for a set of nails. But I was being patient because I could tell she was flustered with the whole thing. At one point she pulled out the clear gel and the light to dry/cure the gel and I had to stop her and ask her if she was done with my nails. She said "yeah, what you don't like it?" I have literally never complained at my professional establishment ever in my life so I was really uncomfortable telling her no.... my nails look horrible. She knew they did. I knew they did. Her coworkers knew they did. I mean it was HORRIBLE. They were soooo bumpy and uneven and the color was completely uneven. So she roll her eyes dramatically and starts slamming things around, muttering under her breath in Vietnamese and then yelling out to her coworkers in Vietnamese. They were all talking back and forth, and everyone came over to take a look at my nails while they all kept talking (talking crap I assume....) I'm Vietnamese. It was horrible. I was on the verge of tears because I'm not a conformational person. She finally fixed them enough so it was at least decent but they still look horrible. Completely weird shape, uneven, bumpy, thick, heavy.. they are so bad. It looks like I put plaster on my nails. I'm so upset.. And I am really not a picky or complaining person AT ALL so I don't even know what to say. Then at the end I got a quick polish change on my toes. The guy who did it was extremely nice but it literally looked like a 5 year old painted them. I swear they must do it super horrible so next time you get a pedicure instead...
