(1 Star) I have been a loyal client at Capella Nails for years and have never experienced anything like I did during my most recent visit with Bi. Before we even started my fill, I specifically asked Bi if there was enough time to do a design, and he told me yes. I had just come from the hospital and simply wanted to treat myself, feel pretty, and try something new with my nails. During the appointment, however, I was made to feel like an inconvenience because he was running into his next appointment. Ironically, I also had to wait when I arrived, so I was surprised to be treated as though I was responsible for the schedule running behind. What upset me the most was Bi telling me that I should have Tina do my nails next time. After years of coming to him, that comment felt unnecessary, dismissive, and disrespectful. If there was not enough time for the design, I would have appreciated him telling me upfront instead of agreeing to it and then making me feel guilty. To make matters worse, Bi began speaking to his coworkers in his native language while looking at me, and it gave me the clear impression that he was talking about me. Whether or not that was the case, it made me feel uncomfortable, singled out, and disrespected. Professionalism means addressing concerns directly with the customer, not creating an environment where they feel they are being discussed. The unfortunate part is that Bi actually did an amazing job on my nails. However, instead of remembering the quality of his work, I will remember how unwelcome and disrespected I felt during the appointment. Customer service matters just as much as technical skill. After this experience, I will not be returning to Capella Nails. I hope Bi and management reflect on this interaction so other loyal customers are not made to feel the same way. read more

This is my second time here , really awful experience. The lady that was doing my nails seemed like she hates doing nails , was stressed the whole time . This was second time giving them a try . The only time you will actually get spoken to is at the front desk, other then that they don't care about nothing else , Not even the service the technician is providing. Really horrible experience . I love Capella nail bar!! Not only is it quick to get to, but they have a lot of service providers and services that you can partake in. Any nail prices or nail care prices as high these days, but with their complementary snacks and wine of your choice it makes the day great. I go in at least 2 to 3 weeks to get a nail fill, with almond shape and gel nail polish and with designs I pay $75-80. I also get the jelly pedicure, which feels amazing on your feet and your legs for $55. My nail tech is Ms. Jessica and she does not Disappoint!! Not only is she lovely to work with but she listens to what it is that you need and want and is always willing to meet you based on your needs. You can give tip through cash app and or add it to your bill and you can also sign up for points using your phone number. They do take walk-ins, which is a plus for many people so if you get a chance to check them out, they've really done a nice job. read more

I came here because my normal nail tech needed to cancel my appointment for today. This nail bar was recommended by a coworker. I had a Saturday morning 9:30 appt for a dip removal, dip, and pedicure. I was out by 10:30. Pros: It is in a good location with plenty of parking. I did not have to wait. I'm not sure if it's because I had an early appointment or if it's their norm, but i appreciated it. They appeared to be using clean tools and the staff was friendly. My nails look great. They offered a variety of beverages, which is always appreciated. Cons: The shop is a bit small, so it feels crowded when they get busy. It was very cold in the shop...it would've been nice to have the heat on/up especially because they have stations that sit right at the door. Although I appreciated the timeliness of the nail tech, it did feel as though the appointment was rushed. Overall, I would use them as a backup if my regular nail tech is unavailable. read more

I've spent $$$ on nails and pedis but there is a lux and quality that usually goes with that experience. I am convinced that PG County nail shops are just money grabs. I received gelx and pedicure. I realize now that I may not a fan of the overall shape of gelx nails. I had to fix them up at home which makes absolutely no sense given that I just got the nails done today. The pedicure looks fine (my nails do) but service was quite basic. No foot massage whatsoever. I had to use my foot massage cream at home to get that freshly pedicure feel. Felt like the tech was going through the motions. Note: this was my first time back in a traditional nail salon after taking a break for months due to similar poor and overpriced services. I am from out of town and stopped because I love driving in to go Nadine's hair braiding next door. Came as a walk in and asked if they had time. I was accepted. They are able to do nice nails and designs but I felt rushed during my experience. My nail tech rushed and during my drive home (3-4 hours away) two nails chipped while washing my hands. I understand not a lot of people are getting their nails done and places want clients but after paying $160 for a full set for it to chip 24 hours later is not worth coming back. At 6:08 I finally said I had somewhere to be at 7 so they had a kind lady named Nancy help me. I really wish Mya had at minimum acknowledged that the other lady took my spot but she didn't. For this I will probably begin to patronize Nancy. It didn't help that the client in Myas chair said to me sorry I was late then proceeded to get a bunch of crystals and rhinestones on her nails. Good service. A little wait if you're a walk-in depending on how busy they are. I came as a walk in for a pedicure on a rainy Sunday afternoon not long after they opened so I only had about a 5 min wait. The menu has a lot of pedicure options to pick from but they all sound like just a bunch of little add-ons to justify the amount. I went with the basic classic pedicure ($35), French tips ($10), and callus treatment ($7). They offer soft drinks, water, wine, and mimosas and have baskets of chips for you to grab around the salon. When I told the female nail tech she feigned ignorance. Then proceeded to pull out the tool to cut around my cuticles. I explained again that I didn't want them cut, she then conferred with her partner next to her and he questioned me. I simply restated what I told her. I have been looking for a nail tech a little closer to home. I stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a gel mani with designs and a regular pedicure. I came in with a design I found on their IG. The shop wasn't busy and I was greeted when I came in. I was told to sign in on a iPad. I was promptly taken back to the pedicure area, which as others have mentioned is in fact a nice vibe and relaxing. They offer you a drink as well. The pedicure was fine. Nothing to write home about. The woman that did it was friendly enough. Although I showed her the color I wanted on the IG, she started putting on the wrong color. I had to stop her and find a color close to it on the ring of colors they have. She didn't try to find the correct one after I showed her the pic. She just walked away and waited for me to choose. My toes were shaped horribly. I had a couple of chipped nails on my big toes. Someone obviously chews on my toes in my sleep because this happens often! Other nail techs have managed to cut and shape them so it's barely noticable. She didn't attempt to at all. And because I chose a bright color, it's noticable. Anyway, on to the nails. I got an older woman who sits center in the middle row. She sat down, sniffling (great) and put some kind of medication under her nose. Luckily, she was wearing a mask. She barely said two words to me and her demeanor was offputting. At one point, she actually forgot to hide her disgust and slightly shoved my hand away when she was done with it. It was definitely giving that she would rather be doing anything else than what she was doing. And it showed. I showed her the picture of the design I wanted. I should have realized by how close and often she studied it what I was in for. Most real nail artists only need to glance a couple times as the design is not complicated. So she got to work on my nails, giving them 10% of her attention while giving 90% of her attention to the male tech sitting next to her on the end seat against the wall. I don't know if she was training him or trying to learn from him, but literally every minute and a half or so, she was looking over to see what he was doing. To underscore how she was training / learning on my dime, when it came time to paint my nails and do the design, even though she had the photo in front of her and glanced at it a hundred times, she still screwed up which nail to paint and what to keep clear for the design. I just sat there and watched her until she realized her mistake and I had finally had enough. I told her to forget the design and just paint my nails and let me go. She shaped up real quick and cleaned up her mistake and barely attempted to be nicer and to do the design. I could tell she didn't know what she was doing and I wish I had just went with my first thought to just forget it. You can see for yourself how it came out. What I asked for ain't quite what I got. For some reason, I tipped generously although she did not deserve it. And her reaction let me know she knew it. She was very thankful. Whatever. I'll consider that my good karmic action for the month. But I'll certainly never be going back again and would not recommend unless you have a specific tech. I will say the girls that had male techs all looked happy with their nails and the male techs seemed to be more friendly. Do with that what you will. read more

She then proceeded to prepare my actual nail when I said to her verbatim, "you're doing acrylic nails right?" She then says "I thought you wanted gel..." Then the tech next to her shows me the girls nails she's doing and says "like this?" I didn't see the nail prep so I assumed it was acrylic as well and said yes. I came here as walk-in on a Saturday afternoon. I thought I'd have to wait long because every chair seemed occupied, but I actually only waited less than 10 minutes. I showed the man at the front a reference picture I'd seen on the salon's instagram page, and he paired me with Bi. Bi was very friendly and attentive. I love the way he shaped my nails and paid attention to detail on the polish. Bi did the gray base, and I was soon after greeted by Nina who finished the job with the design. Nina was sweet and did a great job as well. I appreciated the honesty when Bi got up and said Nina could do a better job at the design. I was charged $70 for this job ($40 for the gel manicure and $30 for the design). A tad on the pricier side, but the atmosphere and ambiance was worth it. They do offer wine, drinks, and light snacks. My only downside is that I wasn't offered any initially. I heard a different nail tech offering to a client next to me, and that's when I realized it was complimentary. That would be my only corrective feedback, especially with it being my first time there. Some service has been satisfactory & others the worst. I see a couple of techs that left did come back so the jury is still out for me. I stumbled into this place on a whim and all I can say is what a breath of fresh air. I work on my feet so my toes need all the TLC they can get and when I walked into this place, I was pleasantly surprised. I walked in and was immediately greeted and told to sign-in funny enough lol. The place has a neutral gray scale vibe and was clean as a whistle. The pedicure room was amazing with it's dark decor that immediately makes you feel calm with its long drapes as you enter the room. Upon being seated, I was offered a drink (wine) and a snack. This was the first time I ever was given this courtesy at a salon bc a lot of them assume I'm too young or don't care? Maybe both. The pedicure chairs have liners in their bowls and I was given a wealth of colors to choose from for my toes. I picked my color and wasn't pressured to get gel or designs or anything. (I go for gel anyways bc who has the time for regular polish?) My nail artist Lucy was a very sweet, quiet young lady who did a very thorough job on my pedicure. I visited this salon last week and had a great experience. I called ahead of time and made an appointment just in case, but they weren't busy when I arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday. They have free snacks for guests (chips, candy). In addition, when getting a pedicure, they offer you a complimentary drink (apple juice, orange juice, wine, mimosa, or water).
