I've been here twice. The first time was a great experience (I got a pedicure from Minh!). However, this time, I recieved a messy manicure. The edges looked very unrefined, there is polish left on my skin, and some of the polish over-floods my cuticles. When I asked if they could fix some of the nails, they simply painted more polish over it. It took almost 2 hours for this end result... I felt like I could've painted my own nails at home, and it would've turned out better than this. Been coming to this shop since September and I love it. The shop is spacious and the customer service is amazing. I used to do walk-ins but because of how busy they tend to get I make appointments now. I haven't had any real problems with my sets from here, besides my chrome peeling off within one day that I was able to get fixed the following day. I don't think the tech I had really knew what she was doing because she had to ask another tech questions. My nails do round out kinda fast in-between fills which I hate but other than that I've been pleased with my nails since coming here. My current set has held up nicely and my crystals are all still intact, not to mention I work in a warehouse so I can be hard on my hands and nails most times. read more

I wanted to feel pampered today...and I did. I lived in Waldorf at one point, but I'm definitely out of touch when it comes to what is actually good out here anymore. I've been to California Nails, Golden Nails, New Lady Nails and Vspa was suggested to me as well. I had to run an errand at the mall anyway, so I figured I could come here. I was their very first client this morning. I got a basic manicure with clear from Vaughn and I got lemongrass + green tea pedicure with white gel polish and I paid $98 for my services. I had great conversation with Vaughn over my mani - he gave me complimentary water and fresh fruit cup. My only pet peeve is nail techs not cleaning under the nails and although, I only got clear polish I was expecting a base coat + polish + top coat but alas, I only got one coat. (It's the little things that count!) I had a bomb ass pedicure though--completely worth the money. Tony was very patient, paid attention to detail and accommodating. He even brought a heater nearby us, so that I didn't get cold from drafts in the building. I was completely relaxed and enjoyed myself. My service included regular pedi + callous removal + exfoliation + massage + paraffin wax. I would definitely re-visit and recommend over most of the nail salons I used to frequent. After moving to the Brandywine area and after trying a few nail salons in the area (very disappointing experience btw)I found this place. It's located inside the mall and although they are pretty busy, I've never seen many people wait for extended periods. I personally always make appointments with my nail tech & brows Chaung & pedicure specialists Vee which I hardly ever have to wait; they book their appointments accordingly. The rates are decent which is what I was searching for unlike the other salons in the area that charge pretty much a la carte (makes no sense how much they penny pinch). The place is clean and spacious so you're not bunched up with other customers. The pedicure section is nice and open and I've watched them disinfect and clean the bowls & supplies each time!! Customer service is great from the receptionists to the owners. My daughter also gets her nails done here with Danny, he is also very skilled. However, the one thing I dislike is the very limited non- gel nail color options. Now they do offer some gel match colors but again very limited. I personally am not a fan of the gel polish anymore simply because it just doesn't last longer than 1 week 1/2-2 weeks to me is pushing it, I hate the peeling part of it and how expensive it is just to get them done. But that's just me. I like the water & fruit cup that's offered to the customers, it's a nice welcoming touch. I see myself going here for a while for nail services but if I ever stopped getting my nails done, I will certainly keep going back for my brows; she does a phenomenal job with my thick natural brows! read more

They are the best! I have gone to tons of nail places but I always end up going back to tropical nails. They are a tad expensive but nothing too crazy but it is reasonable because they do a great job. My set was $60 but I got a full set with accent nails (see photos) I mostly walk in but if you're going to go on a busy day it's better to schedule an appointment. Today my daughter and I patronized this business and it was the worst experience. First the receptionist asked if we could wait to see if an appointment show up which they did not. The gentleman once we showed what service we wanted immediately said "I don't have time for that service. Like I was going to change my mind. He comes back to service my daughter and then a young lady comes to service me. They've been talking to each other the entire time and at one point he looked at my foot after she said something and they both laughed. But anywho, the service went on and it just hurt so bad even the callus removing (normally tickles) but it hurt today I was burned by the paraffin wax, I mean I'm telling her this burns and she's running water on me and still squishing it around. I've been checked on maybe four times during this visit and I'm not happy at all. Just to bring this up I came here June 10th for an eyebrow service that I was not happy about I naturally have thick eyebrows and told the water o wanted them thin she did not listen took a little off and tells me what looks better, I had a photo shoot later that day and they only offered for her to redo them I said no paid and left very upset. I went to another nail salon where she arched and shaped my eyebrows perfectly and my pictures came out exactly like I wanted. But back on today...., I will not come back here!!! This was my first experience at this nail spa. I cannot complain about the pedicure they did for my daughter but I can complain about the lack of communication and poor business practices. Two weeks ago my daughter and I were complaining that she has been unable to find a nail salon that had technicians who could do designs on her nails that were more elaborate than just dots or stripes. We were walking by this salon in the mall and decided to stop in to ask if they had a technician who could do designs. I was assured that their technician Nancy could replicate the designs that my daughter showed them from the pictures in her cell phone. Unfortunately, Nancy was in high demand and could not take my daughter for two weeks. Two weeks later we showed up on time and they took my daughter in the back. About 15 minutes later , the receptionists asked me to come back. Apparently my daughter , who is 10, was only scheduled for a manicure with designs. My daughter , not knowing this, asked for a manicure and pedicure. Nancy started the pedicure and called me back to tell me that she could not do the manicure. Someone else could do the manicure but there would be no designs! I was not happy. The whole point of the appointment was to get a manicure with designs. I explained to Nancy and the receptionist that the point of the appointment was to get a manicure with designs. If here was any discrepancy then the appropriate thing to do would be to clarify the services that were to be administered BEFORE starting any services. Then we could have communicated that the manicure was the priority. But instead they started a service and told us we had no choice but to get the mani with no design from someone else. But I'd did have another choice. I told them to finish my daughter's basic pedicure and cancel my services and her gel manicure. We don't plan to frequent their business again read more

This place is not the place to go to for quality. Very nice decor, professional ambiance. You get a cup of fruit and a mini bottle of water before they start your service. They use great products. I went in for a manicure and pedicure. It was my first time so I didn't know who was good and who wasn't. I am very unhappy with my service. She did not trim my toe nails and they are completely uneven, not to mention they polish is sloppy. My manicure is even worse! I asked for my French not to be too thin and so she did them huge. I asked for her to make them smaller and she went down just a little bit. I felt like she didn't care how I wanted them, rather then just trying to hurry and get them done and over with. Do not... I repeat do not get you lashes done here. I don't know what type of glue Charlene used to glue these on but they will not come off. I tried oil, makeup remover, saturated my face in all of that even water. They won't budge they are hard and they won't come off. I never had this happen this is over 3 weeks of trying to take this crap off and nothing will happen. When she put them on they hurt like but she calmed me after she stabbed my eyelid several times. I used to get them done professionally when I lived out of state and it never hurt getting up on. Only a small piece came off so far. On Saturday ,July 22 I went to this Salon to have color change (gel) and a pedicure (gel). So we are clear , I had the same polish put on my nails and toes. Yesterday, Tuesday July 25 I noticed polish coming off my nails and curling up on another. So today I called the salon. They originally told me it was a 3 day period for getting services redone , until I mentioned Yelp review. One of the managers called me back and stated they would extend period and I could come back this week. Now here is the thing I live about 45 minutes or more from the salon and it is not convenient. I just happened to be I Waldorf at the St Charles mall and decided to pop in there. I asked if they could give me a credit. I stated it didn't have to be the entire amount. The manager Khan started NO. I told him I would try to get there this week but my schedule is full. I stated that I would write a review and he got upset stating this was not fair. So it is fair for me to have Messed Up Nails and come all the way back there. Please note the technician was very nice and professional. Management Not. Look at what others have said some good and definitely some BAD. Don't go there . I spent almost $100 and this is what I get. They are so busy giving fruit and water.
