Just edited my 5 star review on google after being a patient here for the last 3-4 years. That review was for Dr. Beasley who is no longer a part of the practice. This 1 star is for Dr. Brewer. First let me start with how much EVERYTHING price wise has increased since the departure of Dr. Beasley. Prices have nearly tripled. Second, I go back and forth between NC (where my family resides) and Florida ( where I reside currently) and have continued to make sure appointments, check ups, etc are maintained in NC because I'm there often enough. I was up for an Easter visit and had my dog seen to get up to date on shots and have other questions answered as she is a senior dog (plus she is more familiar with this office and I felt good initially as she met Brewer once before). Dr. Brewer made extreme changes to her diet, and added in other items she now felt was essential (so essential she went to the back to bring out a bag of it to add to my bill even after I told her I would order it from chewy). She also grabbed my dog a bit aggressively to hold her still for a shot and I was so shocked I didn't say anything, but was really annoyed (and of course now upset with myself for not advocating better for my dog). Well, we change the diet and my dog is so unhappy. She's refusing food (for 2-3 days which is very unlike her)...I'm trying to come up with other alternatives that'll work with little to no luck. This is a perfectly happy, healthy, eats every meal kind of dog, so this rapid change is concerning (it started slowly with less interest in food to not eating at all this past week). She has lost interest in walks, seems lethargic, melancholy, and has even vomited a few times all in the past 48 hours. I called the office to speak with Dr. Brewer directly and go over my concerns and what's been happening. She couldn't even be bothered to get on the phone with me but rather stated there's nothing more she can do and I need to bring her to my vet here. Of course I'm bringing her to the vet here, but wanted some clarity, maybe a few suggestions, and some possible insight to what's going on (these are all her recommended changes) so I can be as prepared as possible when I do go to the vet here. I am now believing all the negative reviews as it has happened to us! All this vet cares about is money and racking up your bill! I will NEVER bring my dog back. Update: after a $1,500 vet bill, including extensive blood work and an ultrasound we've determined my pup has severe pancreatitis which commonly occurs after diet changes that the dog can't digest properly...(side note that the diet change was deemed absolutely unnecessary by my vet in Florida and that was the ONLY change made during this time period). My dog is being put on numerous antibiotics/medications and is still not 100% in the clear. She will need to be closely monitored for the next few days and if this first course of action doesn't work she will need hospitalization. SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY HEALTHY AND HAPPY BEFORE THIS!!! Dr. Brewer has cost me time, lots of money, and my dog suffering through this ordeal. I stand by what I said; this practice does not care about your animals but rather how much they can squeeze out of your wallet. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU WANT ACTUAL TREATMENT!!! read more

Do NOT go to this place. It would take me a month to fully explain everything my cat and I went through here. After spending thousands of dollars on X-rays, antibiotics, wraps, multiple visits, and even a toe amputation, the problem was still not resolved, after all of this - my cat STILL has a problem in the same area ABOVE the toe as he originally did. They were never able to clearly tell me what was actually wrong with my cat's foot. They will funnel money out of you for anything they can think of to add on!!! I was even charged for a simple follow up after the surgery. Throughout the entire experience, I felt dismissed and talked down to. Instead of compassion and clear answers, I felt treated like I didn't matter as a pet owner. Dr. Brewer is only concerned with making money. We've been taking our 3 dogs here for 17 years and they get more and more greedy each time we go. They wouldn't even sell us dog food unless we made a vet appointment and our dog wasn't even due for her shots for two more months. We're done with this place and following Dr. Beasley-Roach at Riverbark in Fayetteville. We should have done it immediately after she left. Dr. Brewer told me to put my 4-yr old cat down due to an injury. Thank goodness I got a second opinion and I was told she would be fine. The second opinion was right. She died last year at a ripe old age of 17. I DO NOT recommend this place. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

Accurate diagnosis. Took our lab in three times over four weeks and they were treating him for hip dysplasia and arthritis. He had lost over 25lbs and refused to eat so we took him again to Dunn animal hospital. More meds, test, X-rays and supplements to build his muscles. We explained he would not eat anything including home cooked chicken and rice, they said it was due to the pain from the arthritis?? After this visit he was still not eating so took him to another vet for a 2nd opinion and ends up he did not have hip or arthritis issues he has cancer in his spine, pancreatitis, liver and stomach. He was loosing weight due to starvation. As long as your pet is healthy then by all means Dunn animal hospital would be fine I guess for his normal vaccinations and updates. Watch out for the supplements. They never seemed concerned over our pet just concerned with adding more test, X-rays and meds and supplements for the hips and arthritis. Spent over $800 and no ROI at all. No call to check up not even a thank you just schedule another appointment in a week. Spent over $1,400 with then since November of 2025 ( 4 months). Our new vet actually seemed very concerned and only saw him this once. There are some good ones out there . Hope DA hospital gets better as our animals deserve better especially when we think we are paying for the best care. read more

Took our dog in this week to get her vaccines. When I was checked in, I was asked if I wanted to do a yearly flee/tick shot that was like $230. I was like no, I can't do that right now. The front desk lady even told the associate that came to get my dog that I declined the shot. Went on about my day and the Dr. called me later to go over a few things. Told me the total charge which I thought was high but really didn't question it then since I did not have the bill. Go to pick up my dog and see that they did in fact give her that shot so that is why my bill was so high. I asked the same lady about it and said I told you no that I could not do it right now, we would do it later. She said oh I thought you said yes because it was a better deal. I was like no, I told you no that I could not do it today. She was like oh i am sorry. What could i do then but pay for it. For now on, when her off, I will get an itemized statement of what she will be getting. On a good note, the Dr was very nice when talking with her. read more

I took my cat here and she was treated for worms. A day later my cat was dead. I spent money i really didn't have and when she pasted i could not get a refund. The money would not replace my cat but it was the principle. read more

Dr. Brewer is amazing! We were concerned about our sweet Ava's dewclaws after her procedure, it was a Saturday and we didn't know what to do. We called the number that was on the discharge instructions, we left a message. It wasn't long before Dr. Brewer called us back. Very grateful for the call and her medical advice. The Staff here is amazing, my wife and I bring both our cat and dog to Dunn Animal Hospital. In all of our years of having animals and obtaining veterinary care from different Veterinary Hospitals, this Veterinary Hospital is by far the best. Dr. Brewer and Dr. Beasley are incredibly Veterinary Doctors and people. They make the owner and their pets feel comfortable and like part of the family. They are compassionate and very skilled. Our pets have had surgery and all of their routine care done at Dunn Animal Hospital and we could not be happier. The staff is just as incredible there are so many to name but a shout out to Amanda and Morgan they are but just of few of the amazing staff. Thank you for all you do! We came home on Sunday to a cat with a serious eye injury. Monday morning we called her regular vet who could only try to squeeze her in at the same time I had to pick my son up from school. I knew she needed to be seen that day so I had to call another vet. I happened to call Dunn Animal Hospital and although they too had a full schedule they understood and allowed me to bring her in after I picked my son up from school. I walked in, was seen right away and they even stayed late to do the surgery on our precious kitty. They explained to me exactly what happened, and what they needed to do to save her third eyelid and what I needed to do to continue her care at home. Great vet. read more

I took both of my dogs to be groomed at Dunn Animal Hospital on 5/8. Our normal groomer didn't have an opening for a few weeks, so I decided to give DAH a try (they are our regular vet). I dropped them off right before 9am and they told me they'd call me when they were finished. Sage needed a simple haircut and our other dog just needed a bath. It usually doesn't take more than 3 hours for both of them. Jeremiah got a call around 12pm from DAH asking if he "had a big dog." He told them he did and the person proceeded to tell him that they got his phone number from his dog's tag and that they had the dog "safe at DAH." He told them that he was confused because both of his dogs were already there to be groomed. The employee immediately hung up on him. He called back several times and couldn't get through. He was busy at work and wasn't able to keep calling. He assumed that if something was wrong they would call me since my number is on our dog's tags as well. My name is also the primary contact at the vet's office. Unfortunately, no one called me, so I had no idea. I called the vet at 4:30pm asking if it was time for me to pick my dogs up yet, They said that the dogs weren't ready yet but would be at 5:30 (closing time). I was honestly really annoyed but I tried to understand that maybe they were just busy. I ended up getting there a few minutes before 5:30. And surprise.... they weren't finished yet. I was told that I could either wait another 30 minutes for them to finish up or I could pick them up tomorrow. I thought they were joking, but nope. Y'all. I live 45 minutes away and didn't expect for my dogs to have to stay over night to be groomed. So I decided to wait. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions they have in their office, I had to wait in my car. In the meantime, Jeremiah called me and asked if I was on the way home with the dogs. I explained everything to him and told him I had to wait a little longer so I'd be on the way home soon. He asked me if they had called me to tell me what had happened earlier. Of course I had no clue what he was talking about. He told me about the phone call and told me to go in and demand for them to give me my dogs. I walked in and confronted the front desk ladies about the situation. After attempting to cover it up and make excuses, I was able to put two and two together. Turns out, our dog Meadow was left (obviously unattended) outside and was able to jump their 6ft fence. Luckily, someone found her (more than likely in the street), caught her and brought her in. In no way will I deny that my rescue, who has PTSD and separation anxiety (from us and our other dog) had the reason/ability to jump out. However, she should have never, ever been given the chance. Instead of calling us to explain the situation and assure us that our dog(s) were safe, we were lied to. I was so overwhelmed and upset that I asked to pay and for them to give me my dogs. I was told that they were still being dried off. Which is interesting. I dropped them off at 9am. And that point it was almost 6pm. I was told over the phone prior to their grooming appointment that Sage was due for her heart worm preventative shot, and Meadow was due for her flea/tick preventative pill. Come to find out, they gave both of my dogs flu shots (which I didn't realize that they were overdue for) and ran a test on Meadow that I did not agree to. The bill came out to $644. I know I shouldn't have paid. And yep, that was my mistake. But I wanted my dogs and all of the employees were starting to leave. I got home and took my (wet) dogs out of the car. Meadow was completely traumatized so I gave her to Jeremiah. I brought Sage inside with me and realized that she was totally botched. I noticed her hair was really tangled so I started to brush hair out. Her skin was so sensitive that she flinched when I touched her. She had bald spots behind her ears and behind her legs. Forget them charging me for something I didn't ask for... One of my dogs was in a position to get killed on 421 and was now totally traumatized and we couldn't get her to stop whining and the other looked completely ridiculous and was nicked to pieces. I called the office the next morning (5/9) and told them I needed to speak to the vet. They told me I'd have to send the photos to their email and that the vet knew the situation and would call me later. I sent the photos a few minutes later. On 5/11, I missed a call from DAH at exactly 6:00pm. I called back at 6:02. I called 3 times. No one answered. The vet left a voicemail telling me that the reason Sage looked like that was because she was "just absolutely horrible and matted" and that they "had no choice but to shave her hair off because of how bad it was" she repeatedly made excuses by telling me about how "bad of a condition" that Sage was in. Since I moved to Dunn, NC I found a vet (Jennifer Beasley) that is awesome with my dogs for veterinarian care at Dunn Animal Hospital........BUT they offer grooming and they are horrible, I was quoted one price and then when it came time to pay it was higher!! They didn't trim up the dogs...I only wanted a trim not even a full grooming and they still smell like they did when I took them in and they had them 7 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guarantee I will not be returning.......so if you live in Dunn and need a groomer find someone else!!!! It cost me 106 dollars for two small dogs and one nail clipping............ read more

I hate having to select a rating because it should be negative 10. This VET is horrible and killed my mothers service dog!!! From a simple teeth cleaning procedure. Two weeks later they called for payment. Then sent a certified letter, stating that when my mother picked up her dog that she said she would sent payment. Sadly there are so wrong because my mother didn't pick up her dog, my friend did. Because I was on stand by with Dunn Ambulance to be sure my mother didn't have a heart attack or a stroke! It hasn;t been six weeks and they want to harass my mother. I have news for this VET!!! I will tell this story over and over again about how they killed a perfectly healthy dog. No bill has ever been sent that outlines how much medication was given or what the break down of the procedures cost. This VET has a huge misunderstanding because I will see her in court and push to close this clinic before I let my mother pay her one red cent! read more
