I drive by this Dunn Bro's so much and have never been. I think parking in this area definitely kept me from stopping in... we discovered they do have a pretty decent size parking lot on the side of the building. The inside of this DB is really big!!! I will say the front room was extremely cold (they do have a fire place but still). Not ideal for cold days but they also have a pretty large back room as well, which was warmer. I ordered the cookie butter nirvana, iced, which was really good. We were in and out pretty quick since we had somewhere to be but now that I know they have parking, i'd stop by again. read more

Came in before work one morning and it was pretty good! Free parking in their next door lot which is great if you want to come study. I got the matcha latte with soy milk and it was super sweet. I'm trying to find a way where it's not super sweet but has non dairy milk, so I'm still looking for a way to do that on the menu. If I lived here I could see myself at this coffee shop quite often. It's a large space with lots of art and different rooms so you can find a spot that works best for you. We stopped in on our way to the sculpture garden and were pretty impressed with the selection of lattes. They had a really nice winter seasonal lineup. I had not been to a coffee shop with a selection of espresso drinks including sodas like Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. Their selection was called Dunn Dirty's and was intriguing as well. I've been going to this Dunn Brothers for several years. It has completely gone downhill--especially in the past couple of years. It is filthy dirty, and he is overrun by transient people who are drugged out and seem to just want to hang out there. The outside used to be awesome overlooking Loring Park, but now there's not even tables or chairs hardly outside to sit by--everything is rusted and broken. I wish the owner would take some pride in this coffee shop and put some money back into it. Very sad! read more

I like all the different latte choices and flavors that lean more to my liking such as the white raspberry mocha. Yes you can taste the raspberry. The caramelized almond latte has the distinct flavor of almond milk. The vanilla latte was fine and last the Chai latte was perfect - not too sweet with just the right amount of Chai. I met a friend here for my first visit and it was a wonderful place to meet. I ordered a hot latte and brought it to the back room where I was welcomed to a perfect table for two overlooking the lake. The free parking ramp next door is a huge perk in this area. It was busy but there are so many nooks and crannies to hideaway to work, do a crossword, or have a fun conversation. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Great visit! read more

Dunn Brothers Coffee is the 9th largest coffee company in the U.S. with about 74 locations. Even though this is a chain, this coffee house started in MN and still has a local vibe. I suppose it's bc the staff here was super friendly with a hipster vibe to the place. The vanilla iced nirvana was really good. Even though it was with cold press coffee, the drink was sweet enough for me. I suppose they added the sugar already as the drink wasn't super bitter when I tasted it. It was refreshing and gave me the caffeine kick I desperately needed. For a medium, the vanilla iced nirvana was $4.30. If you use the Yelp check in deal, you can save $1. And if you need to use the restroom, it's around the back corner. Don't forget to grab the pitcher lid with the key near the pick up area as the restrooms are locked. The parking situation was all street. If you can't find a spot on the main road, the side roads will offer more spaces that's easier to slide into. Take heed as we saw a patrol car ready to hand out tickets if you're parked illegally. read more

I have lived in this neighborhood for 12 years. even though the franchise owner of the Loring branch has changed a few times and the place remains, dirty, unkempt, and staffed by continually changing employees. Today the parking lot is filled with Dunn Brothers litter and the employees are complaining about their manager, who is not here. The coffee varies by the day, depending on who roasts it. There have been endless security problems with people getting into the apartment building. The place never changes. read more

The location is excellent. Located in the heart of Loring Park just across the street from the park with ample parking available. For the holidazzle especially, it is great to grab a coffee before strolling the village. Knowing that the perk is available at other locations, I would have hoped this location would keep it as well. The quality of the coffee is delicious though. Although Loring is not my neighborhood, every week I spend at least an hour at Dunn Bros Loring Park. I'll name 10 reasons that collectively distinguish this place from other nearby places and you see those are more than enough to convince you to try it: 1- their friendly baristas. 2- their selection of local art work. 3- their small cute coffee roasting workshop 4- the elderly people who frequent there. 5- that its not a Sturbucks! 6- free wifi 7- their danishes 8- Loring Park across the street. 9- you almost always can find 2hr free parking on 15th st (because their own parking is really small) and finally and most importamtly 10- because I weekly spend at least an hour there, you have a chance of 1 in 168 of meeting me! read more

I hate this place. My friend got food poisoning from a vegetarian sandwich she ate here. She barfed all night. And nowadays during the Covid-19 global pandemic, the manager isn't requiring employees to wear masks! We are in a global health crisis. A total of 50K people in America are dead. Came here for a quick coffee before touring around Minneapolis -- not bad! A tad overpriced in my opinion, but a nice overall vibe. I kept it simple and ordered a caramel iced coffee, but they have a decently extensive menu. You can even build your own breakfast sandwich. As a long time patron of this particular Dunn Bros in Loring Park the staff here is very friendly - although they have lost a few good staff over the last couple years. While this particular Dunn Bros is convenient lately it seems more anymore that it needs a good cleaning. It does not seem like the staff or anyone cleans the seating area at all. The chairs are dirty, the carpeting is terribly dirty, dust everywhere, crumbs on the floor. I placed a crumpled napkin on the floor one Saturday morning in plain sight by a plant in the corner and the next week it was still there! The outdoor seating area is very dirty, no one sweeps, cigarette butts abound - it seems very filthy inside and none of the staff seem to notice at all, or care. read more

So Dunn Brothers is my favorite coffee chain(only other one I go to is Caribou but that's just for the Cooler) this is a really nice location. The interior is always clean. It has a great variety of seating from high tops to normal tables and also a great and vast selection of combfy chairs. It also has a great view of Loring Park which is very nice to look out at while sipping you're Coffee beverage. The outside is as clean as it can be for being in Loring Park. There is bike parking and it has a lot dedicated just to customer parking it is also a bus stop is located right out front so convenient to get to or if you're waiting for bus you can get a drink and stay warm/ cool depending on MN crazy weather. read more

Over the years (i.e. 2003 - college days era), I've patronized this coffee shop. Be it for a power study session, a date or a quick pop in for a cup of tea/coffee, the friendliness (and hippiness) of the staff has always drawn on me. While the layout allows for a plethora of functions, occasionally seating is limited due to meetings being held by a group in the back-area. It was unseasonably and unreasonably nice out today. The reason I am opening with this fact is that I am pretty happy with the world today and that might be bleeding into this review. Just sayin'. Inspired by the mercury rising to 52 degrees in mid-January (yes, 52 DEGREES IN JANUARY), I decided to walk the sunny mile to my meeting at this Dunn Brothers this morning. It's located right on Loring Park, with lots of seating inside and some out (yes, OUTDOOR SEATING IN JANUARY). Slightly out of breath and sweaty from the walk, I was craving an iced latte (yes, ICED LATTE IN JANUARY!). It looked like they only had one register so it took a few minutes of waiting in line, but my drink came out lightning fast once I got my order in. I always forget how much I like the little tiny ice cube balls in drinks like they have here. I know it waters things down slightly faster, but I really like them. The latte itself was just the teensiest bit bitter, which is the only reason I didn't go with a full five stars. I still drank it up though. It's a prime meeting location as well. Why? Well, there's the seating surplus (it's much bigger than it looks), the free parking lot, the close proximity to downtown and the multitude of vantage points to watch for the person you are meeting. This is important to me, because I don't like carrying around a red rose and a copy of Pride and Prejudice to business meetings. It's also a good place to get some work done solo, because they have perfect music playing (Raphael Saadiq, Stevie, soul, Motown... I love) and lots of one-person, counter-style seating too. I like those spots because I don't feel like a jerk taking up a whole table with just me and my laptop. Anyway, pretty happy with the world today... and also this coffee shop. read more

Ok so maybe I'm a little biased because of how close I live to this Dunn Bros but hey, I think that can count for something. All the baristas are friendly and helpful here and go out of their way to ask about my day. I personally think the baristas and atmosphere at a coffee shop make the real difference in wanting to go back. The space is huge and comfortable. There is a ton of seating inside and also a few tables outside when it is warm enough. The WiFi is fast too :) The coffee is good and they have quite a few options to choose from. I'm vacillating pretty hard on what to rate this place. Positives: - Some of the friendliest baristas I've ever met. - Great setup, cool art, lots of tables. - Good coffee! Negatives: - The food there is always a little more expensive than its quality would indicate. For example, the breakfast sandwiches are pretty uninspiring, especially compared against similar items from Caribou. The sandwiches and other snacks they have are generally pretty tasty, but a couple dollars more than they should be. - The Wi-Fi is pretty flaky. Every time I've tried to work from here, I've ended up just tethering with my phone because their Wi-Fi's been so bad. So what do you want? A cup of coffee, cool ambiance, a smile, and some pleasantries? 5 stars. Want to grab a bite to eat and work on something that requires the internet? 2 stars. This Dunn Bros location is my regular spot for coffee in the morning. It is a block away from where I live and I lucked out because I think it is one of the most charming Dunn Bros in the cities. The Baristas are friendly and energetic - even in the wee hours of the morning. The fire is often roaring in the winter and the outdoor seating is perfect for the beautiful Minnesota summers. Loring Park is right across the street so this is the perfect stop for coffee or an iced drink before a stroll. As for the coffee...It's coffee house coffee. The brewed coffee is strong and balanced and the espresso drinks are done well. My favorite thing about this shop may be the divine smell of roasting beans. Loring Park Dunn brothers isn't just another corporate carbon copy coffeehouse. It's part of the neighborhood, a part that I'm proud to be highly dependent on. The staff sometimes change :( but are frequently down to earth and good peoples. There is a view of Loring Park from the windows and from the moderate seating area outside. If your from the neighborhood then you probably know that the coffee, espresso and atmosphere are far better quality than the nearby Starbucks on Franklin and Nicollet, which is far too ghet for my taste. If you are searching for a place to take your laptop or curl up with an ipad and soak in the local Loring Park flavor than this is the place for you!! There are several levels, including a fireplace, plenty of seating and a large collection of interesting art work by local painters (they used to do painting classes there a while back). There is also an on-site, fully functional coffee bean roaster!! Oh yeah and free wifi that doesn't require you to purchase a ridiculous card now like some places *cough* Starbucks, *ehem*. Try the ice Carmel Macchiato at Dunn brothers, they make it Thai coffee style with the sweet cloud of milk floating at the bottom. They also sell jugs of cold press ice coffee to take home with you but be warned it's strong. They also have parking that is not strictly monitored so if you want a place to park and grab s coffee before taking a walk through the park you can technically do, just don't clog it up if it's kinda already full. Some of the friendliest baristas work here, and some of the most annoying work here too. Bring your headphones for your laptop when the staff get overly rowdy and loud. I call one of the staff Carol Burnett because she is always acting like a comedian rather than genuinely listening to customers. However, much of the staff is incredibly nice. The wifi is very flakey here, and the place needs to be vaccuumed and some of the furniture upgraded. I've seen mice running around on the floor on occasion. I get the feeling that the staff and management are just too accustomed to "the way they work" to want to be a better coffee shop, and they could be. The location is fabulous, and they get traffic for any event in Loring Park and lots of folks from the neighborhood. The staff as a whole just needs to care more, and then they'd be great. read more

One of my neighborhood must haves is a coffee shop within groggy walking distance. So when I moved to Loring two years ago, the Dunn Bros. on 15th was going to supply my fix. I wish I would have tried a cup before I signed the lease. Dunn Bros. is a fixture in the Twin Cities and their in-house roasting is a phenomenal concept, it's too bad their coffee is terrible. The beans in my first cup were over-roasted. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, tried another a day later, and another a week later, and another at a different location. Every single one was over-roasted. Their baristas are knowledgeable and quite good at their craft, in spite of the lack of whole milk; it's unfortunate that the superamerica down Lyndale has a better dark roast. read more
