Love them! Nice, helpful, not pushy. I don't get why people are angry about waiting for paint? They have to mix it and they have other orders that come in through phone and online. Have they gotten paint from elsewhere? I can promise you there are wait times there too. The paint here is great, even the cheap contractor level stuff is better than most of the stuff you can get at the big hardware store. The color advisor was nice and down to help me pick out some truly wild colors for my apartment. The associates were friendly, and even the people in the back were nice when they handed me the paint. This store is convenient and their products are great. However the people working the front of house counters are severely lacking in customer service. I just left the store after waiting 15 minutes for someone to at least acknowledge my presence and indicate they would help me soon. A regular customer arrived, jumped the queue and immediately made a purchase. I guess I'll simply order off the phone going forward rather than stop on the way to work to order paint. They're usually good, but they totally dropped the ball. I'm an interior designer, and in I their retail store, I requested 4 samples. No one else in front of me. I even had all the numbers ready. Wait and wait and wait... Per the timestamp on my receipt, it's 20 minutes and still nothing. I ask, they check, oh they're bringing it out to you now, per the mgr. Then the young man who went to check comes out and say, they're putting it in the mixers. So which is it? Now it's 35 minutes since my order was placed. The store is empty of other customers. What the hell? The most important client is the one in front of you! Because everyone was doing something but helping the client in their store, they made me late to my next appointment. Make sure you have them open your paint in from of you if you are getting a paint that is a color. They don't mix their paint correctly. It has a paint check sticker on the can with the initials of the person mixing the paint, but they just put their initials and whatever. I had to come back to have them mix the paint again because it was not mixed/ shaken properly. read more

So far, the worst service I've every received as a commercial builder. Stood there while the manager ignored me, two technitions ignored me, and I had to ask for purchasing paint. No questions, just purchase paint with a color code. My paint was mixed, with the deepest indignation by the technition. Will NEVER ever spend one dollar here again. In the paperboard industry and in the recycling industry I have turned to Dunn-Edwards for various jobs. Most recently I was able to work with Dunn-Edwards to provide paint for items which are displayed. They have local areas in Los Angeles where stock is kept. My experiences with Dunn-Edwards included quick response time on inquiries and orders, decent price, great lead time for delivery of usually 1-2 days, quality product at arrival and standard invoice and billing procedures. While I cannot evaluate from a foodie perspective I can say I had no issues with them during the times I have worked with them and that may be the best compliment. read more

If you have any color consultation questions go to Rafael Vila. He was very patient and helpful in helping us select colors for the exterior of our home and interior. We sent him images of the exterior of our home and he was able to do a mock up of the house with the colors he recommended. He took his time and gave us a few options to select from the following day. I really appreciate his help in the color selection process. The colors were cohesive and his help exceeded the expectations my husband and I had going in. I highly recommend this store for their friendliness and fantastic color consultation advise. My contractor/painter swears by Dunn Edwards paint, so there's that. This place is painfully slow. And I mean painfully slow. I hate coming here. I always leaving feeling frustrated and like I just wasted a bunch of time. The staff are friendly and seem to want to help you but often look like tourists behind the counter. I buy Dunn Edwards because the colors don't change. For example, Swiss Coffee is the same color it was 20 years ago and it will be the same color 20 years from now. Again, the staff are friendly and the paint is a good product but if I can go anywhere else to get paint or painting supplies, I will. It's painfully slow. If my contractor has to wait an hour, then that's some very expensive paint. Also, calling in and placing your order doesn't really save much time either. I wish there was an app for ordering and paying for paint that buzzed you once your order was ready. read more

Well it's confirmed and I've made up my mind. I HATE Dunn Edwards Paint and will never use it again, nor recommend that anybody else use it. I generally only write positive reviews and steer away from negative ones but I'm going to make an exception here. It all started when I decided that I was going to repaint the inside of my house. I developed a color pallet and a plan. I decided to start in my small little bathroom to give me motivation and test drive the colors. I thought that maybe I would get away from the big boxes and buy my paint from a so called national brand so I went to Dunn Edwards and bought Spartawall in the three colors and sheens that I needed as recommended by the salesman. I took two days to prep, washing, taping etc. knowing that proper preparation ultimately makes everything go easier. I began with the trim and doors, seems easy enough, until I noticed that the coverage wasn't what I was used to and thought I should expect. I did all the trim once and realized that white covering white looked horrible. I thought maybe it's the brushes that I'm using so I went out and bought top of the line brushes knowing they would get good use and tools are important. I did a second coat on the trim. Come to find out I really didn't like the color on the main walls so I took a sample of a paint that I did like and thought I'm going to go get some Baer and see if that goes any better. I guess I've been spoiled, I painted the main walls today and noticed that the trim still had bleed thru. UNACCEPTABLE! It really bugs me so I guess a third coat is in order but the Baer paint was a 'one and done' so I'm glad that I made that call. Next comes the accent wall with Dunn Edwards, OMG! Two coats and I still haven't seen it in good morning light so not sure if that ALSO will need a third coat. I'm done. It was a total waste of time and money, and it wasn't cheap. I like the color combination so I'm going to toss the paint from Dunn Edwards and replace it with Baer. It cost me over $100 but my time is also worth money and I've got a lot of painting to do. Not going to waste my time with Dunn Edwards ever again and recommend that you not either. read more

I love Dunn-Edwards paints but this location is just OK. The last time I went I requested a lot of paint and I told the sales associate how much I planned on painting. I was sold under and over when I needed and I had to return to Dunn-Edwards a few times to make up for this. Also, the wait time to be helped and to get the paint is longer than other locations I have been to. I had better experiences at the Glendale and Sherman Oaks locations. read more

I have gone to almost all the Dunn Edwards stores in Southern California and this is the one of the worst stores with the one in PCH San Pedro. My order was ready and no one brought it over to me until i go there and found out its ready nor apologize......at least the person who took my order should have notified to their coworkers to remind my order before going out for lunch break....we painters always pressed for time and they should know it Also, everytime i call for making an order, they put me on hold then suddenly hung up (called about 6 times and 5 times hung up) dont go here if you're in hurry. read more

I came with somewhat of an idea of how I wanted the apartment complex to look on the outside. I am the new manager there and want to make a difference in the aesthetic and cleanliness of the building. The biggest and fastest impression of course was painting the old apartment (1912). I stopped by Dunn Edward's on Hoover Ave, and was referred to Heidy (the paint specialist). Heidy went to work right away. She was very detailed and interested in the project. I could tell she took pride in her work. She asked for the type construction style (craftman) and looked up a google picture to get a visual of the building. She was personal and gave two suggestions. One being a classical touch (colors that matched the era in which it was built) and a more modern bolder look. I went with the classical look with an American feel to it. Heidy since then followed up, and I've been able to order paint quicker and faster with her help. Heidi's customer service has gained Dunn Edward's a loyal customer. As of now I'm almost done with the project. I'll post a couple photos once im done with the project. This is my second time to this location at the request of my contractor. The first time the representative assigned to my contractor didn't pick up the phone to confirm the account and discount detail. Additionally, they were completely out of the 5 gallon base we needed. During the same visit, I requested to set up an independent trade account. I was told someone would follow up within the week. It is a month later, no word and I needed paint for another job. I went back. Sadly, I had not been assigned an account. I politely filled out a second form. I placed my 5 gallon order and was told to come back in 30-45 minutes for color matching. I came back 1 hour and 15 minutes later. The paint is still not ready. I sure wish the company would put as much attention into the quality of their customer service as they do into the quality of the paint. read more

This place is ridiculous literally 5 employees meandering around the floor just looking at the floor and talking. Took me 30inites with no other customers in the store to ask someone for help. Then she apparently doesn't know how to read the codes on my paint can and said she doesn't think thy could use the paint to color match and said I would have to come back tomorrow but pre pay for it even if it turned out like crap. I placed an order at the Hoover store on Tuesday November 14th and never received a response from anybody there. If it wasn't for me calling in and asking about the status of my order they would have not taken action. "Vicky" said she would take care of it and I gave her clear instructions on the delivery time and how to deliver my material. She confirmed everything will be before 7:30am. At around 9:30am Friday morning I call my field guys to find out if the material had made it on site. They told me no the Dunn Edward delivery never arrived. I called the hoover store and after 10 minutes of being put on hold I was finally able to talk to Vicky regarding my order. She said my order was not delivered because a certain item was not in stock. That being said, this is where my frustration starts. Vicky should have called me back the same day and inform me that the item was not in stock so we could be able to make some sort of arrangement. She waited to the 11th hour to inform me that my order could not be delivered. Now I have 4 painters pushing brooms on the jobsite because my Dunn Edwards delivery never arrived. At this instant its my responsibility to drive to the Hoover store from Riverside to pick up my order to prevent any other problems or delays. After advising the hoover store I will pick up the order I arrive an hour later and my order is still not on a flatbed cart ready to be loaded on my truck. At this point in time my field crew has spent half the day without any productivity and all the hoover store could say is "sir we have other customers ahead of you please be patient". While my truck was being loaded Vicky stated that my order was still incomplete and that 2 items were still missing (green dot topping and 3 packs of respirators) and that they could be delivered later on the day. It was around 2pm and my superintendent called saying the respirators were not apart of the delivery. After another 20 mins of trying to contact the hoover store. Matthew (ass. Manager) stated it was 2:30 pm and they could not deliver the order and that we would we would have to wait until Monday. Apart from the snotty attitude I got from the hoover store employees what really disappointed me was that miscommunication is what caused all these problems. If Vicky would have made a simple phone to inform me about my order I would not have lost a days worth of productivity all of which is prevailing wage labor. read more

I painted the whole interior of my house myself using Sherwin Williams paint. I hired painters to do the exterior and they use Dunn Edwards. I don't understand why I can walk into any SW and they take me right away and I'm in and out in five minutes, yet Dunn Edwards is an hour ordeal. Ugh I dread going there. read more

I have seen this Dunn-Edwards here for years but I tend to go to Home Depot since they are closer to me. I went in to look at Paint Colors and they had two people working the floor. A young lady that never looked my way after several minutes of me feeling lost and Matthew Martinez. I had the pleasure of dealing with Matthew M. (Assistant Manager). I was very impressed with him. The company I work for is big on customer service and Matthew M. went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the service I was receiving, Matthew was very patient with me even though I had no clue what colors I wanted to purchase to paint the trim of my home. Matthew told me to take my time and I even felt bad that I was so undecided. I picked my colors and within minutes my paint was ready and Matthew took it out to my car. WOW home depot does not have anyone come out to help you load anything to your vehicle. I want to thank Matthew for all his help and if anyone else feels lost like I did I would have him provided you the same quality of service that I received which can sometimes be hard to find. read more

I went in and one of their customer service representatives (Alondra Villalobos) was so knowledgeable and beyond nice as she explained my different options.
