I made the mistake of going to Home Depot multiple times to try to get paint to patch the outside of my house. They could never get it right. I finally went to Jill's and they were so nice and helpful. They also got the paint perfect on the first try. If I had just gone here first I would've saved myself a lot of time, money, and frustration. This store is great, the people are great, I highly recommend it. read more

The last two times I have gone in for paint advice the vibe seems so much different without the two brothers that were so pleasant and helpful that have there for decades. The employees have a little sass and seem so disinterested in answering questions and make you feel like you are bothering them when u ask for color matching than contradict whet they have said before. They help you select colors, make recommendations on different brands and finishes, and are quick to get you what you need so you can get out the door and get started. Home Depot makes me crazy with the wait time and limited selection and even though Jill's is a small paint store they seem to have everything from premium paints, stains, metallics and all the tools you need in a one stop shop!! Plus I love the free candy at the register!!! Recently I decided to do DIY back painted glass project as I couldn't find any glass shop to do it for less than $1,500!! Go here instead of Home Depot or another big box store! They have everything you need for painting and related work. But the best part of the store is the staff. So friendly, knowledgeable, hard working and efficient. You'll get much better service and care here. I got great advice about actually buying a cheaper product to satisfy my needs and what I need to realistically invest in. Saved a bunch of money while doing home improvement. And they helped bring all the materials out to my car parked a half block away. Parking: they have a paid public lot behind them but plenty of free street parking on side streets behind them or you can try metered parking in front but not as easy to get a space. Safety: masks required, social distancing abided by. It was truly a pleasure shopping here and encourage others to buy from small businesses! read more

I went to this store because it's a Benjamin moore dealer. The consultant was working and asked me to come back at a specific time. I walked around for 30 min, came back and said that she had another appt. I asked her if I could just ask her one question about the white color differences so I could just buy some swatches and she said no. She was on her break. Every time I've come to this shop, no one knows anything about the paints. It's so difficult to get a consultant. I'm done trying to make this store work for me. Unprofessional. read more

I was trying to create a custom color to match a corporate logo for an office design. These guys were able to mix two colors to match the logo EXACTLY. It was a huge success. Everyone has talked about their great paint selection, mixing, etc. So I will just say: This place is incredible. You will get all the same colors at Home Depot but here, you will get amazing service. Not just with selection and mixing but they really care about the customer having a great experience. There's a big table to sit and browse over colors with a fresh pot of coffee and gourmet donuts (YUM!) and if that's not your thing, have a drink in the back bar. (Really.) On Saturdays they have free color consultations until 3pm. And if you are a dog lover - there is no better place! Free bones and Jill stocks treats I've never seen before, to buy. I have in all my years in LA (many + many) NEVER had a better experience shopping. Today was my first day at Jill's and not only did I find exactly what I wanted but it was a really fun experience (ample parking, too) instead of being a weekend Home Depot or Loew's nightmare! Nice little neighborhood paint store, but paint is overpriced about $10 per gallon. :/ Also, samples are about $7 bucks each when you can get them much cheaper at Orchard Supply Hardware or at other nearby paint stores that also sell Benjamin Moore. On the positive side, they do have a designer to help you with beginning color decisions on Saturdays. read more

They were super attentive over the phone which was super important since we didn't want to spend any time indoors (Covid-safety). The next day we went and picked up the products hassle free. They take C19 very seriously there as all business should indoors. If you are wondering how many customer they let inside as you enter, the max number is up to 3 customers. Jill's Paint was very cool with my sis and I, they treat their customer well, and give you reliable info as we are newbie to painting walls. Wanted to see what can go with our setup. We went with Gentleman's Grey.They are very knowledgeable regarding about which paint can do and how lights play into it. Went with Matte as can be washable to clean off dirt or smudges and not reflect so much light if one was streaming games or on a video team call. Went back again to get a swiss coffee which is a different shade of white as would did not want the color to show yellow or those eggshells stuff. In a bright room, the room with windows, the white stands out and so does the blue. When it dark then the white shows a little bit grey. read more

My husband and I just purchased a new home and wanted to paint the entire interior before moving in. This included walls, ceilings, closets, baseboards, kitchen cabinets, etc. In our previous home, we painted with Sherman Williams and the paint chipped pretty quickly and then we painted with Benjamin Moore and saw an incredible difference in terms of coverage, vibrance and durability. We came in to Jill's paint to choose our colors and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Marc was especially helpful in selecting the finishes of paint and making recommendations on the type of primer we should use on our cabinets. Our house looks amazing and we are grateful for Marc's help. Even my painter commented on how well the primer worked on our cabinets and the quality of the paint we chose. Everyone in the store was wearing a mask and adhering to COVID safety protocols. Carla, Andrea, and Laura are awesome they stayed up after closing to make 20 samples. I had a hard deadline and was running late. Their Aura paint is great, can't go wrong. I concur that Jill's is a super ultra fun paint store with all the best lines and colors...B Moore, Devine, Sydney Harbor. They have milk paint! (Be prepared to make a huge mess, though, if you go the milk paint route.) This is a great place to get inspiration for your color choices, and even effects, if you are doing or redoing a home. They're usually pretty friendly and nice, but they've never offered ME wine. And when you're renovating, you need it. read more

This is the best paint store in the LA area. They carry Benjamin Moore paint, which is great because BM makes the best paint on the market -- their Aura line. It runs 50-60 per gallon, but it pays for itself. It's self-priming, and it covers like a champion. The folks at Jill's are really helpful. There are 2 dudes who look alike and sound alike in a very distinct manner. There's also a fatherly dude who's always there to help, but never really seems to be working. He gives good advice, as do the crankily voiced brothers. I'm a contractor and I encounter a lot of homeowners who think Home Depot's paint is just great. I'd really like to send them all to Jill's to see the many ways in which a real paint store totally blows the big Depot out of the water. Ever gotten a color match at the HD? Well maybe it worked out well for you, but have you gotten several color matches from them and seen how hit or miss their abilities are? I have, and I have. Jill's has employees who know what they're doing and products that are high quality. And they're friendly, and the decor is mish-mashy and hodge-podgey and rad. As if Atwater Village wasn't cool enough? Jules paints is a staple to the area. There's nothing like the good ol' feel of going to a classic paint shop. Their staff is amazing, they are fun and they're very knowledgeable. I also found that some of the highest quality product in town are here. Including some bad ass concrete stains. I use Jill's paints to paint my entire 20,000 square-foot venue just last year. Everything looks perfect and they have been very helpful at matching colors and getting me new swatches. I love Jill's and I definitely I recommend them to all. PS. Most adorable dog ever roaming around the shop too. Doesn't get much cooler than that. read more

In search of a Benjamin Moore color we wanted to paint half of our bathroom in, we were fortunate enough to come across Jill's paint, only 10 minutes away from us. Maybe because the paint department at our local Home Depot are moronic potheads who'd screwed up our paint orders on more than one occasion, but the customer service at Jill's is probably some of the best you'll ever receive at any home improvement store. Not only did they mix our color with the their suggested finish for our project, but one of the guys was upfront and honest enough to suggest NOT buying a gallon, and only taking a quart, which he felt would be sufficient for the job. Who does that??? No one, that's who. Best part about this was that he was correct, and in fact, we were able to complete the job with the quart, and still had enough for some touch-ups. Although their prices may be a bit higher than the big corporate stores, you will find everything and anything you need for your painting projects, in addition be assisted by people who know what they're talking about. Never even offering a "can I help you find something." Not even a hello. I'm glad they are having fun at work, but they're annoying. I'm never going back. Surly checkout. Some of the employees are actually nice, like the guy who mixed our paint. However, this is overall an irritating and frustrating store. I was very pleased with the service and paint from Jill's paint. They mixed the perfect hue for me and had books and books of colors for me to chose from. Especially helpful were recommendations for water-resistant bathroom paint that was not oil based. I bought several "environmentally friendly" paints and they were great. Nice coverage and sheen. The paints are a bit more expensive than from a Home Depot--so if you're doing a huge job, I'd go there, but for the special touch--trims, small rooms, unique colors, paint that doesn't hurt the environment and knowledgeable, friendly customer service, I'd definitely go back to Jill's. read more

I've been using this place since they opened. It's a couple bucks more sometimes but worth EVERY penny. I went in there again today to have a tricky color mixed for my tricky bathroom project. They nailed it as usual. And I got a glass of wine to relax while they did it. Donuts in the morning, wine in the afternoon. Mixed with a store that uses zero VOC tints and can actually MATCH colors, this is the best paint store I've ever been in. And I've been in a lot and painted more rooms in my lifetime than I care to mention. If you need paint matched, don't go anywhere else. Seriously. read more
