I had another bike shop repair the flat for $30.00 and it took less than hour. It was noted the debris was inconspicuously in the rubber part of the tire that most people miss. Daily Rider may have replaced the inner tube but missed the debris in the tire. I say may have replaced the inner tube because there wasn't a cap on the tire when I took it to Daily Rider. I'm told caps come with new inner tubes. Why didn't Daily Rider put the cap that came with the new inner tube after reassembling, I paid $90.00 for tire repair that included a new inner tube with the cap. When I took the inner tube back to get a refund because another shop fixed the flat that Daily Rider couldn't. The person who took four days to work on my bike to no avail said that I had bad luck and got another flat on the way home from the Daily Rider shop.

This was a 180 degree experience from the other rental company jn DC. The owner was friendly, attentive, enthusiastic and really made us feel welcome. He knows his bikes gave us a quick run down that made us feel comfortable. The bikes are impeccabley maintained and he's thought of everything including helmets, storage pouch, bike lock, flat tire kit etc. He was even extremely well versed on the route to Mt. Vernon. Every pointer he gave us was spot on. We made it to Mt. Vernon and enjoyed food, history, and culture. I also wanted a second set of eyes to check all my work and inspect everything once in a while, so I dropped my bike off at Fairfax Cycles. The main service I requested was to replace the front fork and exchange the fork and brake oils. I bought the Ohlins fork from Partszilla and dropped it off at the shop. I was missing some other small parts needed, and they were able to order it for me. I had a budget I wanted to stick to, and they were able to work with me to meet my budget and the services I needed. They were very flexible. For the amount of work done on my bike, I'd say the price was fair. The place is very busy all year round, though. Please set your expectations. You'll likely have to wait to get serviced. You'll also need to pick up ASAP. I felt good about all the services performed on the bike. The installed Ohlins fork makes the bike so much better. Will I come back, a definite yes.
