Been buying tires from Dunn Tires for more than 20 years. Dunn Tire was acquired by Discount Tire of Arizona on Sept. 30, 2023. Recently, here in July 2026 I went to get tires, before that was January 2023. Don't expect discounts or service specials which are now rare. Dunn no longer places various tires on the floor for display (show room). Service is still good but they now operate like a dealership wanting to check over your vehicle and make recommendations or get you to buy items and service you may not need. Dunn is not the same since being taken over by Discount Tire. The Dunn name stays for recognition as to keep its former local customers coming back. Unfortunately, computer data, records, and purchases were lost, removed, or deleted when Discount Tire took over in 2023. Out with the Old and In with the New. Nothing like starting over. A Discount Tire store is like 2 miles away from Dunn. Best to pre-order tires if delivery is needed (payment is due after service is performed so no need to pre-pay for tires) and please make an appointment because they are busy. read more

We have been Dunn Tire customers for many years. So, when we got a nail in our tire, they were the first place we thought of to get it plugged, even though these were the tires that came on the vehicle and not purchased from them. They were very busy, as it was a Saturday. The manager asked a tech if it could be fixed without putting it on a lift, as both of their working ones were in use. The tech said No problem, and proceeded to take care of the tire. We were out of there within 30 minutes and at no cost! We've always had good luck with Dunn and will continue to go there for our tire needs! read more

I understand that things are really busy and I am a very patient person. I walked up to the desk stating I had a nail in my tire and was wondering if they were able to fit me in. Staff was very rude. A male was super rude when talking to me about the tire coverage so I went over to the woman thinking she would be nicer but nope. She told me some time next week she could fit me in so I asked if she would be able to tell me if I could get in at another location she told me I was "welcome to look something else up" and not a word after, The attitudes were awful and truly just rude enough that It wrecked my day. I have used Dunn tire in Dewitt since 2002. They had always provided excellent service and the best prices. I have used them several times over the past few years and recommended several friends and family members to go there as they always had the best pricing and service after the fact. All of that has changed since Discount Tire purchased them. I had an appointment this morning to have two tires put on the front of my truck. A few minutes after I arrived I was told that they couldn't do the job because the tread on my back tires wasn't adequate. The sales rep pulled out a tire depth gauge to try to explain to me how to check the tread depth. (I'm a former auto mechanic) I told hom my tread was more than 2/32" which is all that's legally required. He then tried to tell me that NY requires 4/32" which is incorrect. Then he told me that if you have different tread depths on the front and rear tires that it can "mess up your four wheel drive" which is not true. He said I would have to buy 4 tires instead of 2. Side note: They told the other guy in the showroom that they couldn't rotate his tires because of different tread depths so he would need 4 new tires, also. Interesting. The sales rep asked if I wanted to buy the two tires and have someone else mount them and I told him I'd just buy them on Amazon, which I did through their Goodyear store. $486 mounted, balanced and old tires disposed of with tax included compared to the $544 that Dunn was going to charge me. I'm going to just state facts here. I drive a 2021 Toyota Venza Hybrid that I bought brand new. My vehicle is under warranty and has been 100% Dealer Serviced minus my tires. I had Dunn replace them as the manufacturer tires weren't to my liking. They are under warranty. During my most recent five point inspection and oil change I asked the dealer about some excessive tire noise. So they looked everything over and my car was in perfect shape, no codes no nothing. Alignment passed per the time stamped photo attached. Tires were cupping badly. So I took it to Dunn for a warranty claim to get my tires looked at. They immediately started saying well it could be bad shocks or struts or an alignment issue. I said wait my car is like brand new and not even paid for yet. I was told they needed to run it under their own mechanics to check that there wasn't anything mechanically wrong . I told them it was just dealer serviced May 31st and all was good but I get it told well we have to check ourselves before we can warranty your tires. At the time I didn't have the pic from the dealer with the inspection pass to Toyota Specs from one week ago. They told my perfectly working car was out of alignment. I was like the dealer just inspected it that can't be true. I called the dealer to verify this in front of the Dunn employees. They went in to say that the dealer probably didn't even check it saying this happens all the time. I expressed concern with them doing the alignment as no one other than I dealer had touched my car. I even called the dealer again to say hey they want to do an alignment to will that be ok with my warranty and they said it's fine. Dunn said I should ride out the noisy cupped tires and that by doing an alignment eventually the noise might subside as the tires wear. I said I can't deal with that noise and that I'd be looking for a replacement but they wouldn't warranty my cupping ones. I expressed concern about them working on newer Hybrids and they assured me they've done alignments on 100's of new Venza's. The Venza came out in 2021!!!!!! They did the alignment. After two hours they can't out and said their was a calibration issue or something with some steering sensor and every code and electrical system started flashing and that is need to get it to a dealer. I asked if it was drivable and they said well not long distances. So I went out to my car proceeding to drop off at the dealer down the road. All four wheels were grinding as if locked shut. ABS system failure was flashing. Do not drive. Visit dealer. I called dealer they said have it towed do not drive that could permanently ruin the vehicle. I went inside Dunn and told them that car isn't driveable. And the dealer can't even look at it till Thursday. I am a Corporate Account Manager and I travel for work. I explained my VP is in town this coming week and I need a car. I told them a Tow Truck was on the way but I had no way home. I'm 40 minutes away. I was told I could wait inside for the tow truck but they closed at 6 at which time I'd have to leave. It was a thunder rain storm and horrible weather. While waiting for my tow truck in my car in the rain storm I receive the alignment pic attached from the dealer. My car was towed to Nye Toyota and I was able to catch a ride to that dealer with the time guy. I then had to call an Uber to get home. I'm now home with no vehicle and stressed to the max over how I'm going to perform my job and take my VP out the upcoming week. I drove to Dunn in a perfect working car and left in a tow truck. In hindsight I feel they should have rented me a car or provided some form of transportation since they literally broke my car trying to avoid a tire warranty blaming it on the alignment. But they just left me out to dry. Now that I've had time to process what they did I will be pursuing legal action if my vehicle was permanently damaged due to their negligence. Only thing they did right here was make the alignment free. So in a nutshell they broke my car and left me stranded waiting for a tow truck. I hope and pray there isn't permanent damage and my whole weekend is ruined because I don't have any access to a vehicle and I live out in the middle of nowhere., Shouldn't they at least provide me with a vehicle since they literally broke mine. read more

Absolutely would not go back. They over charge for a synthetic oil change $105 (for 6 quartz) after they said it would be $85 for 5 quartz. I've been charged less at dealerships. Entirely too many other options in the area to ever take my car back. Brought my car in for inspection. They stated it needed a bunch of new suspension components and rear brakes. I just replaced one rear caliper a couple weeks ago and the other a few months ago. Very clearly they failed my cars inspection on purpose, assuming that i wouldnt know what was going on with my own car. Jokes on you, jerk, you tried to scam me and now you have lost a customer. Today the guy just didn't want to deal with me and said no we will not balance your tires because u did not buy them here. I am writing about Dunn Tires Service at the Dewitt. A few weeks ago I tried to calling three different days to schedule an appointment to have my tires change to snows. It rang for 10mins each time with no answer. I understand that is your busy time but that is uncalled for. I finally stopped to make an appointment was treated rudely by the staff who never even apologized. I made the appointment for three weeks later that was the first opening for tire change. When I went in to have the tires changed again was treated rudely. I asked how long it would take and I said you do not look that busy today. His response was it is deceiving. He never answered my question about how long it would take. The waiting room I find very uncomfortable. The TV being on with sound instead of just mute with words scrolling as they have at the airports. Not all of us want to watch the TV. Once it was a soap opera on, this time it was CNN. Most people are reading or doing computer work. Quiet is sometime nice. After an hour and 10min I went to look see if my car was done, it was not in a stall so I asked, I guess they had not check the alignment yet. He said that would take 15min. Three minutes he came back and said the alignment was done but off a little it would take another 30min to alignment the car. I did not have the time so I said no. Also if you want people to write review you need to make it much easier then sending a text. I would never write all this on my phone. I get asked to write reviews for many places and yours the most difficult. I find the staff there very unfriendly and the waiting area very uncomfortable. read more

I bought tires, brakes, and an oil change. They decided to not change my oil filter (NOT ONCE BUT TWICE). First failed oil change 5/23/19, second failed oil change 8/19/19. Absolute rip off, save your money and go literally anywhere else... The guy from Valvoline showed me the filter he had put on my car 16,000 miles ago. Told me whoever had been doing the work should never work on my car again. Also, the folks at Dunn tire failed to tighten the oil drain plug, so I had been slowly leaking oil and having to refill it the whole time. read more

I've done business with this Dunn Tire location for a number of years, and have easily bought 4+ sets of new tires and other maintenance services for different vehicles that I've owned. However, I our relationship may be coming to an abrupt end after the outrageously poor customer service that I received today upon arrival for an 8 AM appointment made well over a week ago. I've most recently purchased 2 sets of tires for my Subaru from this Dunn Tire location. At the time they were professional and efficient, especially when it came time to pay for $1,500 in tires over 2 separate visits. I was assured that since both sets of tires were bought at Dunn, and mounted on separate wheels, there would never be any issue in having the seasonal swap done at no extra charge at the beginning and end of winter. However, I've had to return every time the tires were swapped in order to have my TPMS sensors reset even after reminding them to do so upon every visit. Regardless, I've been understanding and even purchased additional services costing $200+ such as full synthetic oil changes, and a power steering fluid flush and change. Today when I arrived for my 8 AM appointment with a back seat full of winter tires purchased last season, which were already mounted on wheels, I was told by the Assistant Manger Adam Arounsavath that there was no way they could do the work because they were too busy. Mind you, when I made the appointment over a week ago I was told that they had open availability all day and I purposefully scheduled early to avoid delays. What happened in between scheduling the appointment and showing up on time? Syracuse and the surrounding being areas got hit by a snowstorm that dumped 12-20 inches over 3 days. This of course spurred demand by customers to purchase brand new snow tires. Evidently it is Dunn Tire policy to vacate existing appointments to swap snow tires on prior sales in order to accommodate customers buying new snow tires. What makes my experience worth sharing is the Dunn Tire Customer Bill of Rights posted on their web site: "The right to service beyond expectations. Without you, there is no Dunn Tire. Every customer is very important to us. No matter what. If you don't receive service beyond your expectations; or you don't feel like our most important customer; it's your right to tell us... If you're less than 100% satisfied, please tell us. Your complete satisfaction is our highest priority. It seems clear to me which Tire service center has actually earned my business instead of simply processing the payment. UPDATE: After I contacted corporate offices in Buffalo, NY, the regional manager for Syracuse contacted me. He arranged to personally come to my home, pick up my car, bring it to a Dunn Tire location to have my winter wheels and tires swapped on that day. On his way back he topped off my fuel tank and brought my car back in a timely manner. This obviously was an impressive gesture and allows me to give Dunn another chance. read more

They tried to scam my 80 year old grandmother!! She went in to have her winter tires put on and they tried to convince her she needed new brakes. Summary: Good for tire sales and rotations, avoid for mechanical services, inspections, balance and alignment. I have been a customer of Dunn Tire for about 8 years now. I have bought multiple sets of tires and have not had any significant problems. "Out the door" pricing is good, plus you can get free tire rotations and flat repairs, both of which I have used and been satisfied with (though a rotation appointment sometimes takes a long time). Recently I had my car in for a NYS inspection. I was told that my struts needed to be replaced (one had "blown"), though it would not cause my car to fail inspection. When we talked about how much it would cost, I balked at the price and said I couldn't afford it. The service advisor was a little pushy, suggesting he might be able to come down in price. I couldn't afford it at all; plus I was skeptical that the struts needed to be replaced at all -- the car handled fine, and the "bounce test" wasn't bad. I took my car to another garage and they confirmed my suspicions - the struts aren't as stated. They aren't good as new, but they are serviceable, and none of them had failed. Finally, I have had mixed experiences with alignments and wheel balance done at this location. Steering not quite right, wheel balance issues at highway speed, etc. As finicky as alignments and wheel balance can be, I recommend taking your car to a shop that will spend the time getting the alignment as good as possible instead of "passable." read more

Do not buy snow tires from Dunn Tire. I did and today 4/30 I called to get them taken off my car. They said sure and the soonest time to do it is 5/11. Now I didn't expect the next day but 12 days. I then called Goodyear on Erie Blvd and even thought I did not buy the tires from them I got an appointment for the next day. We bought snow tires from Dunn Tire. When we got the car back the rear wheel was way out of balance and was vibrating terribly. They told us we could come back a week later! Then when we came back they said they couldn't fit us in. Their customer service is terrible and don't even try calling on the phone because no one ever picks up. Bought new Continental DSW06 tires for my Lexus GS350, and the price, installation, and service were great. Car was ready 2 minutes later than promised, and the wheel balance is spot on as far as I can tell from only driving a few miles. Less expensive that Tire Rack after factoring in tire cost, shipping, and mount/balancing. I did not receive an alignment report although the ticket says it was checked and was within spec, the tire pressures were close but not exactly the same 33, 34, 34, and 36, my spare tire (came in with a temporary spare) was not secured in the trunk, and I had to go back to retrieve my wheel lock key, but overall, a very positive experience and will definitely use them again. I'm a very picky guy, some say I exhibit OCD tendencies, but I guess it is what it is. :) The tires were very dirty when I picked up the car; a little scrub and soap followed by tire cleaner, and they look great. read more

On July 8th 2020 I had my vehicle aligned at Honda City. On July 22 I bought new tires At Dunn. They told me a car that had sat for 17 days was wildly out of alignment. I imeadiatly took my car to Honda City. They told me Dunn Tire was infamous for doing, saying things like this to try and upsell. Well I'm having snows put on and my BRAND NEW TIRES are BALD on the front! Now this vehicle has maybe travelled 5000 miles since. EVEN out of alignment this would be pretty impossible to believe???? All I can assume is they did something to my vehicle when putting the tire on. That threw it wildly out of alignment risking our lives over an upsell attempt! I went in for an inspection and tire rotation on Sept 5, 2020. The tech told me my tires were so bad not to waste my money rotating them and tried to sell me all new tires and a package of lifetime care. I thought that was odd because I thought my tires were fine. I told him I would look into it and if needed retire the tires when I put on my snow tires in a few months and left without the tire rotation. I double checked that my tires were fine, so the next day I went to a different business for the tire rotation. I simply asked them to let me know the condition of the tires. Hello he was standing next to it. He told me it needed 4 new tires. I said thank you and went someplace else. Our first visit: I took my wife's car in for tires and alignment. Had to take it in 3 times to get the alignment correct. Service manager ended up doing it. Took my car in for brakes. Had to return twice to get that job done right. Brought our cars in the night before and both times neither car was done on time and we had to wait. Our second & last visit: Took both our cars in to have them put on snow tires. Made an appointment 1 week in advance for mine and my wife's car and again dropped my wife's car off the night before. Hers needed and alignment again. (Not sure if it ever got done right the first time) Her car was supposed to be done by noon. They didn't call until after 2pm! The appointment for my car was for 3pm. I needed it back by 5:10 because I had a doctor's appointment. I called at 4:55 to check on its' status and was told it would be the next car in for service!!! Why make an appointment 1 week in advance for 3pm when they didn't even take it in the garage until 5pm? This second time around with, I found the staff to be a bit rude and certainly difficult to communicate with. The pricing is no great bargain. We paid a fair price but did not get what we paid for service wise. I would not recommend them and we are very dissatisfied with Dunn tire. read more

Absolutely horribly disappointed with my experience here. I had faith that since I had an appointment, the overly full parking lot was no sign of my pending misfortune. Unfortunately I was mistaken. Adam, the assistant manager, was not at all helpful and was willing to give me a service "for free" (even though it was something I had already paid for!) The female that was working the desk was beyond rude and she refused to give me her name. What's more frustrating is that she was very nasty to me when I attempted to tell another customer of my experience...I guess for fear of bad PR? The only saving grace for this facility was Scott Osgood who is the regional manager who called me and made my situation right. I have to say, though, on this one store (#21) it did not even earn a star. Scott made it right and restored faith in Dunn Tire, but I will never return to that store. read more

Sales rep/assistant manager Joe out of East Syracuse lied about my tread on other tires and said I HAD to replace all 4 even though I went there for 1 and replaced the other 3 tires less then a year ago. Another Assistant manager Adam went back out looked over my tread and was 7 NOT 5 like Joe said. Brand New tread is 10.. Adam tried to apologize for Joe but was to late. I had an extremely bad experience there, when they failed me for parts that I did not believe were bad...I have some experience with cars, so at least I was able to make an informed decision to take my car elsewhere...buyer beware! If you need a NYS inspection, i would recommend taking it to a reputable neighborhood mechanic instead of a chain shop. A couple years ago I brought my 72 mgb in for a simple NYS inspection. They told My my inner tierods were bad. Form working on this car for years I know that there are no inner tierods because it uses a kingpin system on the rack. I asked a technician to show me the inner tierods. They brought me out to the lift and I showed them that the car has no inner tierods. After showing them they took me inside and passed my car. What a joke. Will not come here for an inspection again. And no I do not want new tires on a car with 8/32 tread depth remaining. read more

I went to Dunn Tire to get a leak in my tire plugged. They told me that the leek could not be plugged because it was near the shoulder of the tire. They then told me the tires that were 18 months old had been discontinued and that I would need four new tires. I said no thanks and left. I went to Hence's in Fayetteville and was told they could have that tire there the next morning. When I picked up my car the next afternoon they said the tire was in fact able to be plugged. $21.60 instead of paying for four new tires at Dunn Tire. Enough said. read more

Excellent service. They will tell you what they can do, then do it well and at very competitive prices. I have had them fix flats on VERY busy days, no problem. They COULD have sold me 4 new tires but they just fixed the puncture. So honest. Also these guys support the Mountain Goat Run, so they are responsible. So go here. read more

I had my snow tires removed, bought new regular tires and had them put on. Russell answered the phone when I called ahead, gave me great information, reserved the new tires for me, then got me all set up when I arrived. He is the personification of good customer service. Two reasons why only a 4, not a 5, score: the wait was much longer than they told me and the waiting area needs to be more user friendly for people with laptops and work to do - needs tables, a quick and easy fix. I will definitely be back, as this place is way better than the other one I've been going to for years. Actually, the first Yelp review helped me find it - I hadn't realized it was the only AAA-recommended place in town. No surprise! read more
