Purchased K Guard gutters from Dun Rite for my home and a rental. They put the wrong color gutters on the rental. Partially my fault, the salesman wrote down the wrong color on the contract & I did not catch it. They did offer $500.00 discount or replacement but the negotiation with the manager was difficult. A call to the owner was not returned. Soon learned there is a design flaw in cold weather. Water frequently freezes on the gutters and large icicles form all along the gutters. This is a major problem over a heat pump. I have made three calls to the salesman all of which have gone unreturned. Pluses? Attractive design that might be good in warmer climates. Negatives? Major icicle & ice issues in cold and lack of service follow up -numerous phone calls for help ignored. Dun Rite? Ahh... Nope. read more

Let's start with the good, my salesman, Frank. Good guy, very knowledgeable. He gave me a decent estimate that was good enough that I called him back. He offered me (pending bosses approval) a better price and sent a new invoice. All was good till I noticed that he only accounted for 1 downspout on the garage and charged me about $40 more than we agreed on. I decided since I live close to their office I would stop by and straighten things out and leave a deposit. Now the BAD parts: 1. As mentioned, only 1 downspout was accounted for and I didn't want to get hit with an extra charge later. 2. When I arrived at their office I was told that only one person could change my contract, the owner, and he was out. 3. I waited over 1 1/2 hours for him to show. He never did so I marked the changes on the work order and asked that it be give to the owner for review. Now the WORST part: I get a call for a man that says he was the owner of DonRite. He proceeded to belittle me for having the gall to write on his estimate and asking for a better price. The way he spoke he sounded like someone I would not want to work for and somewhat of an asshat. He told me that since I asked for more off he didn't want to do business. Over the years I hired dunrite exteriors on 3 separate occasions: 1. New Windows 2. New Siding (most recently) 3. New Gutters. On every occasion I was more than impressed and satisfied with the work they did, the time frame they completed the work, the fair price as well as cleanup. For example the windows were installed within an hour of arriving. When the siding was put up they scoured the lawn to make sure that there were no pieces of siding in the lawn. And they answered every question that we had. And the kguard gutters cleaned up a lot of wet basement issues. From the moment I began my communication with DunRite until the project was complete, I had nothing but exceptional communication from the office staff, the foreman and the guys who came out in 26-degree weather to install my beautiful new gutters. Just a day-and-a-half after I confirmed my acceptance of the quote offered, my gorgeous new K-Guard gutters were meticulously installed and they look fantastic. Who would have thought gutters could be pretty, but I swear they just kicked my curb appeal up a notch. The gentlemen on the job were polite and respectful of my property. They cleaned up before they left and the foreman even cautioned me about some ice on the sidewalk--something that had nothing to do with him. I'm thrilled, the gutters look great, and I know they're guaranteed not to clog. This is a long read, but please save yourself a headache ...... We gave Dunrite Over $20,000 to roof and side a 1400 sq foot ranch and all we got was Excuse after Excuse and work that was DUNWRONG! Our Dunrite ordeal started about a full year ago and counting! We signed up to have a new roof and new siding installed on our home. The roofing crew showed up a couple weeks later, right on schedule. They tore off and installed new shingles in short order - either 1 or 2 days. Notice I didn't say finished the job! Aside from the mess that the crew left and the overcharges I had to dispute with my sales rep, it wasn't 72 hours before we noticed the leak!!! From then on, It took them 4 tries over the course of the last 10 months or so to get it water tight - One of which I even had to go on the roof with the guy and be his helper because they only sent 1 guy!!! Next came the siding issues ... They didn't have the siding we purchased in the color we purchased so a change was necessary. Then, the color corner posts we purchased, at an upcharge, were not available so our only options were either pick a different color or, you guessed it, another upcharge! Whoopsie! Now THOSE corner posts don't come in that color so the next best thing was to have them painted... This was yet another attempt at an upcharge! Fast forward to Christmas week - Yep - several months later ... The siding crew shows up 2 days before Christmas. Oh, and when I say crew, I mean guy .. ONE LONE SIDING GUY!!! He struggles along for a week or so and literally proves to be a complete head case. You seriously can't make this stuff up! Anyhow, after several calls back and forth with different managers and company representatives, he is relieved of his duties and they agree to send another crew out to finish and redo his work. This, of course, prompts a call to my personal cell from the head case demanding payment and threatening lawsuits and liens on my property!!! I explained that he wasn't employed by me directly and that he needed to contact Dunrite. Somehow, after a lengthy conversation between myself, my sales rep and a guy named Mike, the sub contractor was set straight and we're back to business. At this point another crew - 2 guys this time - comes out and redoes all of the trim work and caulking that the 1st guy so badly screwed up. At this point, one would think that all is right with the world ... NOPE!!! It took about a week before the "Special Paint" that they had to order specifically for my upcharged corner posts started to peel off - see pics below... Also, as the paint is literally falling from my corner posts, obviously, siding joins in on the fun... Yep - random pieces of siding started falling from the house ... My wife and I are fed up and fit to be tied!!! All they really have to offer is that they will send a crew out to take care of the siding and some BS about trying to research what could've happened with the corner posts. It is now September 1st, roughly 12 months since the start of this insanity, the corner posts still look like garbage, but on the bright side, the siding hasn't struck any passersby in about 30 days and the section of roof that took 4 attempts to seal up seems to be dry... I am writing this review today because I have been patient, friendly, understanding and silent long enough. My 82 year old mother had new downspouts and gutters put on October 2018 from DunRite aka KGuard and she has had nothing put problems. Her pitch on one of the gutters is wrong and the water is running off the roof onto her central air unit and water is all around the bottom. And her down spout on the other side of where her enclosed porch is pulling away from house and will not fit into the drain. And every time it rains she has to go out and use duck tape to hold it against house. It took this company 2 weeks to send someone out to look at problem. He told my mother that someone will call her. It has been 3 weeks for someone to call her and when they did call and set up appointment no one ever showed up! So every time my mother would call them when no one would show up and one time they gave an excuse that one of their workers had an accident. So far it has been 4 times they did not show up. My mom called again and now they are coming Saturday. They never call my mom to say that they have to cancel she always has to call them and find out where they are. My mom waits ALL DAY for them! When she calls office they are not nice! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have No customer service! They take your money and they don't care about customer! read more

Terrible communication. Didn't even set a date to do the roof and just randomly showed up one day. Had to call to get the final inspection because there was a family emergency and they never reached out to us to tell us, just like there was a family emergency with another worker at one of the houses they never showed up at until we called them asking where they were. read more
