Please go elsewhere. I only went to one appointment with this practice, and learned my lesson quickly. I felt pressured from the physician to agree to additional services that day that looking back I don't think I would have agreed to on my own. She was aggressive in her encouragement of what she thought I needed to do and what was protocol. As I did more research after the appointment I found out very clearly that I did not need the additional services she charged thousands of dollars for that day. I felt very manipulated. Secondly, they are billing for charges that when I called to question they could not explain. My insurance provider said they are fraudulent charges and I am still going back and forth with them to correct their mistake. If anyone is considering making an appointment at DuPage Podiatry Center Address: 3550 Hobson Rd Ste 204, Woodridge, IL 60517-also in Joliet, my advice to you is ABSOLUTELY DO NOT!!! My husband saw Dr. Gallagher to have his toenails cut because he is diabetic and thought the Dr. to be very good. The appointment consisted of soaking his feet in a whirlpool tub, then the assistant put paper shoes on him so he could walk to another office to see the dr. Dr. Gallagher then cut his nails and trimmed some skin on his feet and that was it. THEN we get the bill for this $695 (yes it would be covered by insurance BUT SERIOUSLY) When I called to question the amount I spoke with someone in the office who insisted the billing stated that he had X-Rays and when I explained he had NO X-Ray her smart mouth comment was "AND WERE YOU IN THE ROOM?". I said no but my husband was and unless there was an invisible X-Ray machine in the whirlpool tub THERE WAS NO X-RAY TAKEN. After my 6th time telling her it's impossible that this procedure would cost $695 she continued to say they would send the remaining amount due to his secondary insurance. I COULD NOT MAKE THIS WOMAN UNDERSTAND THE INSURANCE PAYMENT WAS NOT THE POINT (THOUGH THIS VERY WELL COULD BE INSURANCE FRAUD). THE COST OF THIS SIMPLE VISIT WAS $695.00. Dr. Agnich did a bunion surgery on my foot 25 years ago and I have never had a problem with that foot. I have seen her for several visits in the past couple years as well for other foot/ankle issues. I would go to her again but due to her irregular billing of adding $15 for exam gloves, I will not. I have contacted my insurance company BCBS and they indicate that this charge is excessive and should be included in the office visit. I have read that others object to this charge as well. I cannot believe that she would lose so many patients for that $15, just not good practice. read more

The first visit I went, Dr. Nichols said I had a neuroma.He injected my foot with cortisone, without asking my if I wanted the injection or discussing what the injection was even for. It was very painful! He used a 2" long needle that went between my toes and through my foot. The worst part is, my foot now had ANOTHER pain for a week and a half from the shot. It did not help at all but made my pain worse! The bill for the shot that I didn't even ask for was $140!!! And he acted like it would cost nothing and forced me to get it when we were one-on-one in the patient room. I went back to Dr. Nichols a month later complaining of the same foot pain. He still thought it was a neuroma, and said to look and see if my insurance would pay for custom orthotics (otherwise $800). He had no real answer or diagnosis for me, even after taking X-Rays. Two weeks later, I went to a Sports Medicine doctor in the Cadance physician group. He said that I most definitely did not have a neuroma as Dr. Nichols said, but that my issue was metartarsalglia. He told me where to get a ball of the foot pad that would support my big toe up while I was running extra long distances. It has worked! And now I'm able to run 10 + miles without pain! My experience with Dr. Nichols definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Seeing a specialist isn't cheep! And then they stabbed me with another $140 bill!. Awful. read more

Billing Nightmare! Does not Return Calls! DEBT Collections! I saw Dr. Agnich to treat a broken foot. I should have known from the beginning that I was in trouble after seeing her charging $15 /pair of gloves, totaling $165 for all my visits. OK, so I have insurance that paid most of the bills, and I paid my portion of the bills promptly, but to my surprise, 6 months after completing treatment, I got a call from a Bill Collector, stating that I owed Dr. Agnich, $10. Who knows, maybe there was a glove, that I forgot to pay for ;). It was easier for me to just pay the collector, instead of arguing over $10, so I did. Fast Forward 1 year later, I get a call from another bill collector, demanding over $200, they say is an outstanding balance, owed to Dr. Agnich. I contacted my insurance company, and pulled all the balances, and bills associated with Dr. Agnich, and found no surprises, I had ZERO outstanding balances, with Dr. Agnich, Nothing that I hadn't paid, and Nothing that the Insurance failed to pay. I tried contacting Dr. Agnich's office, and left messages, trying to get some answers, but never got a call back. In frustration, I personally drove to her office, and hand delivered my documents, showing I didn't have any outstanding balances. They promised to get back to me, but to this day, have not. I then sent all my documents to the bill collector, and they stopped contacting me. Now 6 years later, ANOTHER bill collector, contacted me saying that I owed over $200 to Dr. Agnich. HOW FRUSTRATING. This bill collector, keeps calling me, and speaking to me in a threatening manner. They have never sent me anything in writing. I've sent the collector written notice, that they need to send me in writing, what this debt is from, and to stop calling me. I don't intend to communicate any further unless they can provide, in writing, what was I billed and didn't pay. This whole experience, has been nothing but a nightmare, I would steer well clear of Dr. Agnich's office. read more

I went to this office for my ankle pain. Dr. Gary Gallagher diagnosed it as Achilles Tendonitis using x-ray. He was extremely rude when examined my ankle and didn't seem to care about patient's privacy. He left the door wide open during the examination and talked to me and his billing assistant Melissa back and forth. When I had a question about insurance coverage, they seemed very impatient. Anyway, none of his treatment plans worked for me. Be prepare to pay a huge bill if you ever go there. They tried to sell me all kinds of stuff. I will not go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Although Dr. Gallagher is an excellent podiatrist, Melissa, the employee who takes care of billing would prevent me from ever seeing Dr. Gallagher again if my foot were falling off! I was not sent a bill for 9 months and then when the bill finally did come on April 28, 2017, it was a "Final Notice" threatening to report me to the Credit Bureau if the bill was not paid immediately. I called BCBS on 5/1/2017 told me they did not receive the claim until March 17, 2017 and processed it on April 20, 2017. Melissa told me BCBS refused to process the claim, which BCBS told me was not true. Then, after trying to tell Melissa how outraged I was that I never received a bill until a final notice, she hung up on me after I gave her my Visa credit card number to pay the balance. I only hope my Visa card will not be compromised because this was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced from a doctor's office. Now I have to either monitor my Visa account for the next year or get a new credit card number because Melissa's behavior was highly suspicious. read more

The doctors are great but the receptionist and other customer service is horrible, which is too bad. They are rude and unhelpful. Called to make a payment and they told me to call back next week and hung up the phone. I referred someone here and they called to make an appointment and got treated badly as well. I would give it ZERO stars if it was possible. Shady billing practices, BEWARE, we were sent a bill and when we tried to discuss the charges, Melissa hanged up on us in more than one occasion I am guessing she is unaware of the law regarding patients rights. Just plain terrible! I went there because I had a wart growing on my the bottom of my foot. I asked them if I could use Dr. Scholls to remove it - a simple $5 product. They told me the wart was too deep and Dr. Scholls would do nothing. They said it would require either laser surgery or a chemical that would eventually remove the wart, and this would cost quite a bit. Afterwards, they told me that I should have a biopsy on the wart to see if it was cancerous. Now they are asking me to pay a ridiculous amount for the biopsy. Here's the best part. I went and bought Dr. Scholls and tried to remove the wart with it.. and guess what? Three weeks later, the wart was GONE! No surgery, no chemicals, no NOTHING. IT'S COMPLETELY GONE, NO THANKS TO DUPAGE PODIATRY CENTER. After this experience, I can honestly say that I don't feel doctors look for the best interest and well being of their patients. They are simply looking to make an easy buck from a hard working middle class family. It's the last time I ever go there, and I will NEVER suggest these doctors to anyone. I wish doctors would be a little more honest with their patients. read more

I was satisfied with my medical care. The problem stems from unethical billing practices. Specifically, my last visit with Dr ****** was two years ago and after two years, I received a cryptic hand-written bill in the mail. The untimely nature of the bill called into question (at least in my mind) its validity and accuracy. The bill was difficult to understand and my calls to the billing clerk ended up in rude responses and "hang ups" on the part of the billing clerk. When my wife then called up about the bill about three weeks after we had originally received it, the response from the billing clerk was that it had been "sent to collection." An outdated billing system, rude billing clerk, untimely payment processing, and policies which send three week old bills to "collection" eroded my trust in this doctor and the office in general. Save yourself unnecessary aggravation and go elsewhere for medical services. read more
