We were left with one week to dispose of various large items ourselves in a difficult time of Covid. The owner promised a prompt reckoning and payment from the auction. This also did not happen. It took several months and repeated reminders for any payment to arrive. The owner told us she had "overlooked" our payment because she was so busy. I live in another province. It took three months for items I bid on to arrive. Expect politeness and promises when you first talk to this owner but little follow-through. Very disappointing service.

Serial number showed that is still under warranty, but after taking it to an authorized manufacturer's repair center in Ontario, it was confirmed that the GPU, VRAM, and controllers had been professionally desoldered and stolen--likely as part of a larger criminal operation, a common tactic used by criminals to scam retailers and then offload the empty shells to unsuspecting buyers through "liquidators" like this one. I didn't buy a "broken" card; I bought a piece of worthless scrap metal with all the guts ripped out. When I presented the vendor with photographic evidence and professional documentation from the manufacturer inspection, they didn't offer a refund. Instead, they rudely closed my account immediately and banned me to avoid any accountability. They hide behind "salvage" policies to sell items that are essentially worthless e-waste. This is not a legitimate liquidator; it is a scam operation, not sure how it is still allowed to operate here. If you value your money, stay far away from maxx.ca. To anyone else who has been ripped off by them: file a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario and contact your bank for a chargeback immediately. Do not let them steal your money.

Baseball cards, carpets, paintings and figurines. The downfall is that people are allowed to bid over the phone so you never know whos calling. When I was there, there was a dealer on the phone that won several items. Second major downfall is that there is a 15% fee on top of the bid, PLUS 13% taxes. We won an item for $325 but after the 15%+13% it came to $422!!! An extra $100 on top of our initial bid. Maybe this is the norm, but it was a bit much I think. The second you win an item, the lady comes over and simply asks " can I have your credit card". No smile, no congratulations. I suppose she had to focus, but it was excited to win an item and a smile with a congratulations would of been nice. Upside is that you can view the items online prior, or during the auction. They do have a live feed on a tv. however, going in person gives you a better idea, as not all the information is on the description page. One thing I did like was how efficient and organized the staff were. Good on them for being prompt, as the second an item is sold they have to prep the next one, and sometimes that's at the opposite end of the room. The men were running around and lifting heavy objects so everyone could see. I will return, but I will keep in mind about the added 15% Happy bidding everyone!
