I have been a loyal customer at Oliver's for 8 years (and actually purchased this exact Bottega Wallace bag from them 2-3 months ago for $2,500). My experience today highlighted serious issues with how sellers are treated. I initially brought photos into the store. Staff (John) sent the photos to the owner's son, Jarred, who responded with an $1,800 cash quote. I went home to retrieve the physical bag and brought it back. The associate logged the bag's condition internally as 9/10 (excellent, with dust bag) and resent photos. Despite explaining three times that I was feeling unwell due to low blood sugar and asking them to speed up or offer a piece of sugar, I was made to wait over 30 minutes while customers who arrived after me were served first. I left briefly to eat nearby and returned. Upon returning, I was suddenly told the offer was dropped to $1,200 cash. When I expressed frustration, I was publicly told in front of other customers that I was 'confused,' and was offered $50 for my 'time' which was only reframed as 'coffee money' after I became visibly distressed by the public humiliation. To de escalate, Joe the manager moved me to a private back room. Once inside, the associate admitted that the original $1,800 quote was indeed real. They eventually "honored" the $1,800 payout, and management apologized both on site and in a follow up phone call. I hold a full audio recording of the resolution inside the back room cause I didn't trust them anymore after basically calling me a "liar" in front of others. Advice for future sellers: Be aware that they actively pay $20-$30 for positive reviews, so online ratings do not reflect every customer's reality. Be careful answering questions about why you are selling, as seller vulnerability is often used as leverage. Get every quote in writing before walking through the door, and do not accept sudden price drops after being made to wait. read more

First time in the store today, I've seen their ads all over Toronto, as well as walked by their shop previously. Very neat and tidy with plenty of sales associates ready to assist with questions or any needs you may have. As listed in their website, they carry a lot of jewellery, watches as well as designer bags. Some of the designer items like shoes, bags, or watches are preowned or heavily discounted. They are graded on a scale of how well the condition is. My girlfriend and I popped into this store on a Sunday afternoon to take a look at some items we were interested in. Very neat store on a side street, in a nice part of town. I walk by all the time and see the red Chanel and Hermes bag on display so it's definitely an eye-catching and memorable storefront! Right next door they also have a buying office so you are covered either way! We were greeted by a security guard who opened the front door for us. I was very impressed to see the very neatly displayed bags and jewelry! The side closest to the front of the store has their selection of Hermes bags, a great selection of highly coveted bags. Near the middle there were a few sales associates working and other luxury bags behind the counter, and there was both fashion and estate jewelry on display in the glass cases. The back of the store has watches ranging from entry level to Rolex and Chopard, and a door to the back where they have more items. Our sales associate was Chi who was very professional and pleasant to work with! She really knows her stuff. We were interested in a YSL cardholder and Seiko watch and she got them promptly for us to try. Everything is quick and seamless, as they have tablets to find the items and verify availability - it's great to know that what someone sees online is reflected in store. When debating between the YSL cardholder and the Chanel one, she was able to help us choose based on quality, value, and condition of the used item. She explained very clearly the authenticity certificates, value appraisal forms and provided everything in original packaging. She also added a dust bag for the cardholder as it was missing one. We had a little hiccup redeeming a gift card but she was able to resolve it quickly. Very happy with our purchase and will definitely be browsing this store more often as we had a very nice time. Please don't ever go to Oliver Jewellery either Downtown or Midtown. Their customer service is beyond horrible. They say one price and then when you go back to see them, they tell you a substantially lower price for buying your jewelry. They are rude and incredibly disrespectful. Whatever you do, don't do business with Joey or Jacob who are the biggest offenders. I've never met two more dishonest business people. I ended up going to Harold the Jeweler Buyer and got almost double what they offered me and more importantly I was treated with respect. Wow my experience with this company was bizarre. I bought some Tiffany earrings. The price on the earrings was $800. Because this is a second hand item I negotiated a price below the stated retail price. When I went home I checked the item on the Tiffany website which listed the earrings for $745. The certificate of appraisal from Gem Review Inc. is $800. I called the store to ask about the discrepancy. I was told that "Tiffany changes their prices all the time." Someone fake cried and whined in the background for most of the call implying I was a crybaby for making the enquiry. I was put on hold and when the person came back he was belligerent, "Well what do you care? Did you pay $800? What do you want?" When I asked his name he said "Juan Carlos Valdez" I said I would review his behaviour online, he said,"What's your name? I'm going to review you!" Are these people on drugs? Clearly they view their customers with contempt. Yes, I still would have bought the earrings if the list price was $745 but a) I would have felt better about my purchase if pricing had been transparent and b) It is disappointing to do business with a business that disdains customers and operates like a frat house. read more
