DETAILS: We had a disaster with our large, built-in bathroom vanity. Shampoo had spilled and wasn't discovered for months, causing extensive damage to 5 components: a large supporting vertical piece, the supporting bottom piece running the entire width of the vanity, a cabinet door, a drawer cover, and the drawer. I called numerous woodworkers, handymen, specializing in wood, cabinet makers, and cabinet companies. Most suggested cutting out pieces, patch-ups and coverups. Those that had a well-known reputation were concerned about the vanity's structural integrity. One suggested adding another bottom support, which would have completely changed the look and feel. An extremely reputable cabinet company told us they wouldn't even try because they weren't confident that they could remove the supporting vertical piece. THEN WE FOUND KEVIN. He didn't patch it. He didn't coverup damage. He didn't change the design. He restored it. In my opinion, Kevin is a true craftsman and artist, and probably a one-and-only. He told me his grandfather taught him the trade beginning when he was a young boy. His skill, patience, and attention to detail are extraordinary. Look at the photos. They tell the story. You will see what Kevin was up against. and that he gave us back our disaster as good as when we had it custom built almost 20 years ago (and better than prior to the damage).

However it turned out even uglier in my opinion. He said if you looked at it from straight on it would not be noticeable, which is true, but from other angles it is a glaring eyesore. He did not tell me it would be beautiful only from one angle and I am very disappointed. So frankly I would not hire him for a repair. This is a reply to your offer. Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by. It is much worse than it was before and 4 times larger. I hired another company to come out and see what they could do. Although their repair still isn't perfect, it is significantly less noticeable. At this point, I don't feel confident that another attempt would achieve the results I would like.

Despite promising to fix it, ACE did a poor job of removing it and ultimately refused to correct the installation. He was found to have one or more violations of his Contractor's license with the Contractor's State License Board on this specific project. His contractor's license is 1124500 and, as of today, is under suspension. I WAS able to recover some of my losses against his Contractor's Bond. Bottom Line - DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR FOR ANY PROJECT!!

The kitchen and primary bathroom were the biggest transformations, but the new staircase and tile work on the risers are probably what grab you first when you walk into the house. The quality of the finished work really shows. Austin was an excellent project manager and had a lot to coordinate on a pretty involved project across multiple trades. Tabo and others did excellent plumbing work, including some fairly complicated changes with our Brizo shower and bath fixtures. Armando and others handled the electrical work, including getting our Lutron Caseta lighting set up throughout the house. Ivan and Juan Carlos did beautiful, artistic tile and masonry work, including the fireplace, which is one of the highlights of the remodel. Dakota did expert fabrication and installation of our Taj Mahal quartzite and large-format porcelain slabs, and Damian and David built and stained a beautiful new staircase that completely changed the entrance to our home. The tile work, stairs, fireplace, plumbing, and stonework are all areas where the craftsmanship really stands out. Austin was always kind, patient, and positive, even when there were problems to work through. His personality is honestly tailor-made for project management, and he was good at pushing things in the right direction without creating unnecessary drama. There were a few points where things were moving slower than expected and I reached out to the owner to help grease the skids, which helped get things moving again. Austin was also very good about addressing things he knew bothered us, no matter how small. The biggest area for improvement was the schedule. The project took a bit longer than we expected, and for a project this involved, I think more realistic milestones and completion targets could have been established up front and updated along the way. There were stretches where we were guessing when certain things would actually be finished. My advice to anyone starting a large remodel would be to ask a lot of questions about the schedule at the beginning, get realistic milestones clearly defined, and then be patient. Having worked with other contractors in the past, we know some of this is just part of remodeling, and I think TNT managed it much better than others we've worked with before. That said, remodeling is ultimately about what you're left with when everyone is gone, and we're extremely happy with what TNT built for us. The workmanship made it worth the wait, and we would absolutely recommend them to someone who puts quality ahead of rushing through a job. I'd much prefer the former than the latter!
