I strongly recommend exercising caution before providing any deposit to Right at Home…read more In my case, a deposit that was described as "fully refundable" was not returned, even though there were no ongoing services, no regular care schedule, and no documented balance owed. When I pointed this out, the owner, Shawn Slatter, did not engage with the actual language of the contract and instead relied on vague and inconsistent interpretations. Despite repeated requests, I was never provided documentation supporting the forfeiture, and the key factual issues I raised went largely unanswered. Meaningful engagement only occurred after I contacted a government agency. Even then, the company continued to rely on unclear contract language, leaving litigation as the only remaining option. This is an impractical route given the cost, resulting in the company retaining funds without contractual justification. What concerned me most was the owner's statement that situations like this arise multiple times each year. For a company working with elderly clients and their families, that pattern raises serious ethical questions. Transparency and fair treatment should be standard; that was not my experience. Separately, the service was initially presented as charging higher rates to ensure quality caregivers, and rates were even increased shortly after services began. However, multiple caregivers shared during service that they were paid minimum wage. Given that we were charged roughly three times minimum wage, this suggests that most of the client fees went to line the owner's pockets. Employees also claimed that the owner was hostile and unfairly retaliatory. The result was frequent turnover, with better caregivers leaving for more fairly compensated work and overall service quality declining. This also raises serious ethical concerns about how the business represents itself to clients and how it treats its employees.

Caring for a loved one in your home is an all hands on deck sort of situation (depending on the needs of your loved one). In our case it was anyways, and there were some aspects of caregiving that were beyond our capabilities. We met with a representative and discussed needs and expectations, what they could and could not do and they matched us with a couple caregivers who were absolute angels on earth. The time they spent in our home was MORE than appreciated and worth EVERY PENNY. Our loved one looked forward to her visits with Michelle or Mickie each week, and the companionship and expertise that they showed her (and us) was undlessly appreciated. I can not thank them enough, and can't tell you, if you are starting your journey caring for a loved one, get help. It does take a village and comfort keepers can be part of that village.

We were connected with Ideal Home Health by our social services professional. Right away we had coordination of visits by a registered nurse, physical therapist and home health aide. The communication has been warm and helpful throughout. Our nurse, Clarissa, is a true angel of mercy. We needed guidance on the tube feedings, skin care, and other nursing related tasks I had as a new caregiver though I have been an RN for years. Taking care of someone who just had a tracheostomy removed and needs constant attention is pretty overwhelming. Clarissa had ideas for us which we use even now. Her clinical skills are amazing. She obviously cares deeply for the clients in her care. If there is a schedule change we are always informed. We recommend Clarissa wholeheartedly! Tim, the physical therapist, is very knowledgeable and patient. He taught my husband some great tactics which have led to my husband's gradual improvement. Tim means so much to us. We met Julianne, a home health aide as well. We had arranged for a part time caregiver by the time Julianne visited, so we did not continue with her but she is a nursing student who shows lots of passion and caring. Sue from the office has always been responsive to us. Ideal Home Health is the agency for you as you transition a loved one home from the hospital and we are eternally grateful.

Alan and Teri genuinely care for others and want the very best for everyone. Thankfully for my family, and the many others the Hughes help, Alan and Teri own and operate a business, ComForCare - Henderson, that is all about serving and helping others in need. Our family was in need to have professional caretakers for my father-in-law residing in Las Vegas while we resided in another state thousands of miles away. After working with another company and finding that company to be unreliable we thankfully found ComForCare - Henderson and the Hughes. From the moment we contacted them they were immediately doing everything they could to help us. In fact, they were at my father-in-law's residence within a couple of hours of our first phone call. Their regular and detailed communication helped us gain confidence and establish trust in their knowledge, services and abilities. Alan, Teri and their team quickly responded to requests and assured my father-in-law was being cared for, as well as receiving the attention and services needed to be safe, healthy and happy. There have been so many needs, tasks and situations they addressed and resolved that were beyond what we could ever expect them to do, that I feel guilty for not paying them more than we have. Additionally, they have been invaluable as advisors in this unfamiliar and unexpected process, helping us navigate every step and turn along the way. We could not have been more blessed to have connected and receive help from Alan and Teri Hughes!!! Our family unequivocally recommends ComForCare - Henderson and the Hughes for anyone in need of professional caretakers for a loved one!

They were then reduced to just providing a safe environment for a few hours of respite for the family and they were unable to provide hot meals for lunch except one time, otherwise the client was fending for herself while they watched so the family had to make sure plenty of leftovers were available to reheat. They did not take client to scheduled appointments, only did light cleaning once in three weeks and did not help client dress appropriately. Completely unable to trust this company with the care of my loved one. Ultimately, they were observed siting in a chair on their phones while the client was left to their own devices or they would watch tv with her. They marketed themselves as being able to provide an enriching cognitive environment with activities specifically for dementia clients, that was never provided and their staff would ask the family what they should do with the client or how to tell if the client needed anything. If the family did not provide ideas, then the staff just sat and watched tv with the client.
