You might think we are a fly over state, but that's quite wrong. Wether you want to camp on the Mississippi River, Gamble on the Missouri river or you find yourself somewhere in between like the beautiful Sculpture Park in Des Moines, or Reiman Gardens in Ames.. Out state is unique, beautiful, and full of life! We celebrate all 4 seasons, and have some pretty wonderful history to talk about.. As I write this review on a computer... did you know it was invented in Iowa, and Peanut Butter too.. I could keep going and paint you a better picture, but I think I will let Grant Wood do the painting. Wether it's Field of Dreams, or Fields of Opportunity... Iowa is where it's at.. Travel Iowa is a one stop shop... that helps you find, those beautiful spots in all 99 counties!

He was very knowledgeable of the fleet and helpful choosing the right vehicles. He was reliable with communication as things transpired throughout the day. We needed a party bus for the bachelorette party and John the driver was such fun -so friendly and professional. We are not from the area so he was a big help with locations too! We also needed day of transportation: for our guests we had a shuttle between the hotels and reception and Andrew was polite and friendly. He was also flexible with a time change! We booked a trolley for the wedding party between the ceremony and reception...off to pics and back again. Not only was it super cute in the pics but Cory was terrific also dealing with the heat that day! Finally the bride and groom rode in a sedan to their hotel...Matt was on time and patiently waited until the couple was ready to leave!! We used CoD for our wedding, because our venue was about 20 minutes from the hotel block/city center where most of our guests were and we wanted to make sure people could have an amazing time at our reception without being in danger on the drive home :) I called a few months out and spoke with Gretchen (I think?) who could not have been more lovely and helpful. She helped me figure out exactly the vehicle timing and arrangement I needed to provide shuttle service for our guests before and after the ceremony and reception, as well as for my husband and I to get to our hotel at the end of the night! They truly think of every detail, down to color coordinating the paper napkins in each limo to your event colors and providing my husband and I with complimentary champagne at the end of the evening. She was highly communicative with the follow-ups and additional questions I had leading up to our wedding day, and it took SUCH a load off my mind knowing that someone as detail-oriented and customer service-oriented as Gretchen and her team were working with us. I know our guests (especially the out-of-towners) really appreciated the ease with which they got around that day...and I'm sorry a year late for our silly friends playing "Zombie" by The Cranberries pretty much the whole way back to the hotel at the end of the night lol! But truly the cap on the great experience was our driver after the party was over (whose name escapes me but I think he is actually Gretchen's husband and a co-owner of the company...Aaron, maybe?). This is the gentleman who drove my husband and I back to Des Moines after all our guests had left, and he was so polite and lovely and congratulatory, and offered to drive our belongings to our hotel for us while we went out for a late night bite post-reception! Overall, this company really does go above and beyond, for incredibly reasonable prices, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

There was a large rolling rack for coats by the door. The entrance was welcoming with large seasonal planter. Parking was convenient and seemed to manage our group. It was on the curve of the road and we had lots of grass on both sides. The area was pretty level but did need to bring out the leveling blocks. Cute and well kept playground for the kids. There are some campsites where you can have a lake view. Overall this was our first visit here and we enjoyed it. Most likely will come back.

For an incredibly small misunderstanding (and during a storm), she berated my family to the point that when we left I had actual tears. Genuinely, this was one of the most condescending, rude, judgmental, disrespectful, and to be honest just plain mean, women I have ever met. When we left we went to a hotel 20 minutes away instead, and without us saying anything about our experience with the fairgrounds/that woman, he told us about how he sees people come in all the time who are treated badly by her. We ended up speaking to more people who did actually end up camping, Also, the last time we stayed there (summer 2024), every single bathroom/portapotty was locked after 9. So that was incredibly frustrating considering we we not warned about that AT ALL (and in the morning there was feces all over the inside of a stall, unfortunate I never got a picture because I was so disgusted I immediately walked out).

We were concerned about the location after stopping at some not so great places on the way here. We checked some of the local places but of course they were all booked. When we arrived we had to drive through the fairgrounds to get to the camp site. We didn't know there were two entrances. But as soon as we drove in, we were really surprised. The campground itself is in the middle of several little hills. There's tons of sites. We stayed for 5 days in a full hook up site. $30.00 a night. Where I'm from, this is ridiculously cheap. We found a site with quite a bit of trees. It was great. Fireflies all around our trailer every night. The only drawback was not having a fire ring. Everything else was really great.
