So, I was getting a new dryer and decided it would be a good time to clean out my dryer lint vent…read more I ordered a kit with a round brush and some flexible rods that you attach to a drill and feed through the vent to clean out the lint. Sounds simple enough, right? So the flexible rods that screw together unfortunately separate while I'm using the drill and the brush and several of the rods are stuck inside the duct. I watch a YouTube video explaining how to remove it (it apparently happens frequently) by buying additional rods and attaching a "corkscrew" made from a wire hanger which you feed into the duct by hand to hopefully "grab" onto the brush and pull it out. You guessed it, that got stuck too. I called King Air Duct Cleaning and Lance (the owner) assured me that he understood the issue and he would be able to squeeze me in so I could start using my new dryer. Lance was here this morning and he was amazing. Within 20 minutes he had both of the pieces removed from the duct and all of the built-up lint cleared. Then he hooked up my new dryer, tested the airflow and assured me everything was good to go! And the cost was about 1/3 of what I thought it would be! Highly recommended!!!

He serviced the unit, fixed a code-compliance issue, and even gave us a second opinion on an A/C repair that a larger company claimed was "unavoidable." Turns out that larger company was simply not telling the truth. They gave us information that was impossible given the actual setup of the unit in our attic, recommendations that would have led to an unnecessary A/C replacement. None of it was needed. All the system required was a bit of TLC and someone who truly understands what they're doing. What a value add. He told me there is no charge to check the issue and provide the quote. John was very responsive and knew the importance of the issue. He was able to come same day to check the issue. He then provided photos, explanations and very reasonable quote to take care of the issue. We agreed for him to fix the issue. It took him about 1 to 1.5 hours and our AC was back in working order. John did say that he can service the replacement of the entire duct system in the attic later but the quotes he gave is way too much for our budget at this time. While I do understand that everyone is always looking for more business, just be aware that they can upsell during their visit and be ready for it. Make sure you do your homework in getting quotes and compare reviews especially for bigger jobs. I appreciate John's responsiveness, professionalism and fair pricing. He told me there is no charge to check but when I saw the invoice, the visit is a line item in the total price he quoted me. Maybe that's just how their system is setup. But I do appreciate transparency moving forward as much as possible. I will update in case we need follow-up on this work and will keep everyone informed.
