Haha, oh man Dutch Bros. I've been coming here since high school and it's always a fun experience. For those of you who don't know, Dutch Bros is this awesome little chain of drive-up coffee shops located all over the west coast. They have these coffees with fun names and a brightly colored windmill to stand out off the main streets that they're located on. The staff aren't just friendly, they are SUPER friendly. They will try their hardest to befriend you in the two minutes that you are at their window. Sometimes this can be off-putting because hey, I'm here to get my coffee so I can wake up and handle people again! But they're always funny and speedy and make a mean coffee. You could say they're dependable, haha. Since they've opened a few more locations in and around Olympia, the wait seems to have gotten better, but come at the wrong times and this location can clog up the parking lot it's located in! But none the less, if you don't want your super-chain-Starbucks-frap and instead want some cheery people to make your day AND a cool coffee drink that'll wake you up real fast - this is the place to go. read more

First of all, I have a very biased opinion of Dutch Bros. Coffee. 1. Is this place awesome? Yes, this place is awesome 2. Is it better than Starbucks? What's Starbucks? 3. I don't like coffee with syrups or anything sweet, will I still like DB? Maybe, but give it a chance! Tell the Barista(s) what you normally like to drink, and they'll fix something up for you. 4. Are they consistent? Absolutely. Not only within this specific stand, but for all of DB in general. 5. Are thy customer-friendly? If I make a really lame joke will they still laugh or at least smile? Yes. Yes they will. 6. Expensive? No. Not at all. Cheapest coffee I have paid for at an espresso stand, or any cafe for that matter. I grew up in southern Oregon (Klamath Falls) where I would go to DB at least once a week, sometimes more with my friends. This was over 10 years ago. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of DB, possibly to the point of being obsessed. I have always loved their drinks and their customer service. Often times at an espresso stand, the baristas put on a fake smile and do the whole "song and dance" role of a barista happy to see a customer they will forget ten minutes later. I find it, although far better than a grumpy barista, annoying to say the least. Fortunately DB baristas are typically genuine in their friendliness. After all of these years of sipping DB, I have only seen a couple bro-ristas I didn't like. As for consistency, I almost always get the Mocha Freeze, the same drink that got me hooked over ten years ago, (then called the Brain Freeze), and it still tastes as excellent as it always has. I only have good things to say about the "Lacey-crew". They're awesome! Go there- try it. You will either hate it, or more commonly, become a DB fan! Don't take my word for it, but sometimes they offer a free drink if it's your first time! They also have drawings every now and then for prizes. Last year I won a month of free DB coffee! read more

I LOVE Dutch Bros Coffee. Since I moved to Olympia a couple years ago, people have been telling me to try it and since I do live in Olympia and they are in Lacey I just never found the right opportunity to go try them out, until recently. My boyfriend works in Lacey so I finally found that moment to go try them out before picking him up from work. When I pulled up to the window, I asked what their sugar free options were since I am diabetic, and they have EVERYTHING!! Chocolate and white chocolate syrups NOT POWDERS!! Every flavor you can imagine, and even sugar free chai!!! I was amazed. I let them know I was a first timer and they basically treated me like royalty. I will definitely be a long time Dutch Bros coffee drinker. The staff is amazing and friendly. The sugar free coffee drinks actually taste good. I finally found a place that is diabetic friendly!! I'd give you a million stars if I could. **UPDATE** I highly recommend if you are diabetic to get a black/white mocha with two scoops of each, and breve. You won't regret it!!! The baristas here are so upbeat and happy that it is hard not to leave with a smile on your face! I love the loud music, smiling faces, and great coffee. I love engaging in conversations with them about random nothingness. They serve the best dirty chai around... sprinkles, no whip! Every time I go here, the Baristas are so fast and friendly. I like that every drink can be served hot, iced or blended. The only reason I don't come every day is because their coffee has quite a dramatic effect on me, as in, STRONG! Some days that's good, other times I value being able to sleep at night. You have many choices, but I recommend Dutch Brothers above the others. read more

Absolute favorite coffee place! First found this amazing coffee while visiting in Wenatchee. The barista there was so excited when we told her it was our first time at DBC--even gave us a full stamp card for our next visit! Sadly, no locations in Seattle-metro area. Have since found them in Portland, Spokane, Vancouver, and Missoula. The coffee is nicely roasted, and a bit nutty. I don't go for the fancy flavors--so I really depend on the actual taste of the coffee. I will go waayyyyyyyyy out of my way for this amazing coffee and consistently great service. Go there, you'll probably wait in line a little longer than you want, but then you'll get to groove to some tunes while the baristas serve up your beverage, and then you can die happy because you just had the best whatever (insert beverage here) you can get in Lacey. Seriously, I love Dutch Bros. I first discovered them in Portland and have talked about it to friends for years. Imagine my joy to find there are 2 of them within a few miles of my house. I recently brought 4 friends from out of town to try it out, they all gave raves reviews prompting a "could we franchise one of these at home" discussion. As for my recommendations, I like it simple. Short Review: Awesome coffee & baristas and they serve coconut milk for people with dairy, soy, and nut allergies! Long Review: I love this place. I'm so happy there's a Dutch Brothers in WA. I visit Dutch Brothers whenever I'm in lacey (once a month) and they have never disappointed me. In fact, they always exceed my expectations with their friendliness. As with the Dutch Brothers in Newberg, I love that they have Coconut Milk -- it's perfect for people who have dairy, soy and nut allergies! My favorite thing to order is the white chocolate mocha with coconut milk, but I also love the Caramel latte with coconut milk. Their espresso is very good, and I have never had a problem with bitter coffee. (You know what I mean, when the barista leaves the espresso to sit too long and it turns bitter, ick!). read more

Hands-down my favorite coffee joint in Washington. Staff are always super friendly, and the drinks are incredibly delicious. I personally love how easy it is to customize your order. They've got an enormous list of flavors and flavor combinations. Coffee is usually too much caffeine for me, but I was delighted to discover that Dutch Bros offered iced black tea as an option! Now it's my go-to beverage for my morning commute (with 'freedom' flavors - those are my favorite!). Occasionally have had issues with the flavoring being incorrect, but staff are always more than happy to correct things. Love this place! read more

I can't understand why people wait in line for so long for their coffee. It's worse than Starbucks, which isn't saying much, and the quality is poor. I ordered a basic latte with toasted marshmellow syrup and it tasted like a watered down latte with no flavor. My husband's vanilla latte had a chemical flavor to it and the coffee itself was super weak. Best of all, they neglected to actually put the lid on my husband's drink, so the backseat of our car is now coated in the concoction and we had to turn around to get another one made. Complete waste of time and money. We won't be back. read more

We go through here several times a week and usually it's always great. Only problem I have with the place is the a lot of times the coffee isn't very hot. Once it was lukewarm at best. And for me, the kids hanging out the window wanting to know all about my day and my plans, kinda freaks me out a little. But their abundance of male baristas, (or is it barist-o?) lead to long lines while they're clearly busy trying to meet up for other shots with the female customers. I'm very concerned about the well-being of this stand's employees as they're still having to serve customers whether they comply with the mask mandate or not. It must be nerve-wracking to work full-time there. Please listen to employee's concerns and set a better standard for other coffee stands. Two stars for being semi quick. We got three drinks including two kids drinks, my seven year old (who will drink pretty much anything from a coffee stand) couldn't even finish his drink it was so awful. I had a blended drink that was equally terrible. The customer service was just average, and they basically demand that you tip! "Do you want to tip 15,20, or 25% today?" Are you kidding me?! Overall, when it comes to this location they are notoriously slowwwww so be prepared to wait - not just 5 minutes, usually 10-20. It's nice that they'll have someone run out and grab your order from you while you wait but it doesn't really seem to help at all with the amount of time in line so I'm not sure if it's really helping them. The coffee seems to vary depending on the day, one day I'll have a spot on drink and the next it'll just taste like chocolate milk. I've been disappointed the last few times through with both the excessive wait and coffee that wasn't really worth it. Northwesterns pass this place by. It is basically candied-something-close-to-coffee. They really don't know their coffee. My wife ordered a drip coffee and they didn't have any. So they offered an Americano and said it was the same thing. Blasphemy if you ask me. They might be able to pull it off in California but not here. There are simply too many better choices for great coffee in the NW to justify going back. read more

I love this place! I would normally give it 5 stars but based on today's experience, the rating was a little lower. There was only one car in front of us so the wait was surprisingly short, especially for this location. The wait is usually pretty long! I asked the barista for a suggestion on what I should get and his suggestion was spot on. He recommended an orange creamsicle frost and it was on point! He asked me several times if I wanted whip on both drinks and I confirmed at least three times that I did, yet when he handed me the coconut caramelizer, it did not have whip. I handed it back to him and requested whip and he seemed a bit irritated about it which was confusing to me, given that he had asked me several times if I wanted whip on both. He also was far less energetic and enthusiastic than I am used to the baristas being when I come here. Maybe this place has just conditioned me to expect super excited and upbeat baristas so to encounter one that wasn't was a bit of a surprise. However, I will still be frequenting this place and I'm confident my future experiences will be the great ones I'm used to having. Not every place can be on point every time and I realize that. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I purchased two $20 gift cards for Christmas gifts from this location. One of them ended up not having any funds on it and caused quite an embarrassing situation for the recipient and myself. I checked the other card, hoping it had the full amount on it, and it only had $20. Clearly the barista pocketed the money for one of the cards and gave me an empty one. I will never stop at this location again. I had to replace the card and am out the $20 dollars. Stick to Tumwater or Chehalis - I've never had an issue at either of those stores. read more

TOP NOTCH! TOP NOTCH EVERYTHING. Customer service, efficiency, puppy lovin' (my dog loves the biscuits she gets here when we drive through despite how simple they are) The hot chocolate and Chai tea latte they have is out of this world! The rewards card is a must have in your wallet at all times as it is super easy to fill up and get your free cup. Goodness, I'm hooked. I love that the drinks aren't too hot to enjoy right away.
